  1. I am worried that we are going to look too much like Marshall, but if we have to go white, this is what I would like to see.
  2. yes, he has also had his North Texas hat on about every minute. Got some sweet closeups last night during acoustic douche.
  3. Now if it said "Shrink NAVY" and had a reverse bionic man looking graphic with a ship...that would be fresh.
  4. Meatloaf is awful. If I only had four alumni to list I would go with Norah Thomas Haden Church Larry McMurtry Joe Green if I was given a fifth choice I would go with either Dr Phil, Bill Moyers or Quoner. It was pretty funny how hard they had to look for the two Ark St alum they listed.
  5. I called today cause I was about to pack up the family truckster and head up from the Fort tonight for one last slice. Dude on the phone said they would be open at least till May. GMG
  6. What is the last day they will be open? The article is kind of vague.
  7. Rick, How on earth did you have the forsight to keep the local rag and ticket? I think I snuck into that game and didn't keep any memories except for large amounts of booze in AggieVille and corn fed women. GMG
  8. That 89 loss was a tough one. We were ranked at or near #1 in 1AA, and KSt was considered the worst 1A FB team in the country. They had the nations longest losing streak. We were coming off the year that we beat Tech, Rice & got screwed by UT. Lots of high expectations. While it was a bitter pill to swallow, it was quite a hoot to see another college tear down it's goal posts because they beat us. GMG
  9. The stadium at Navy is not quite as spectacular as West Point (kind of reminded me of Kyle Field w/o all the extra add ons), but Annapolis is really kickass, the event itself is worth the trip, with tailgating by graduation class, the cadets, the fly by, etc... and it is just an hour or so from Baltimore which has quite a scene going on these days around the Harbor.
  10. I Hope this is a home and home, watching a game at Navy is sweeet. GMG
  11. Dang Dork, are you working on an old school letterpress? Dont let the EPA catch you, they get a little upset these days about the lead type.
  12. "I think that the vice president is a person reflecting a half-glass-full mentality." --George W. Bush, Jan. 29, 2007
  13. I think it is called the "Give it to me Lance" font becuase of the way the Rrrrrr is giving it to the Oooooo.
  14. Funny how the Frogs are a perennial top 30 team and yet every year they seem to rank in the 70's - 80's on the recruiting list. These ranking guys have a good grip of the top 10 teams because for the most part everyone is going after the same dudes. It just becomes a matter of who gets the most of the sought after kids. After that it is a crap shoot. I really doubt the rivals folks are driving out to watch the random corner from Gordon or the LB from Mule Shoe.
  15. not any more, the director of sports at 11 is a NT grad. we should all give them our love.

Man what an awesome piece on Dodge and NT. Clips from NO bowl v Cinci & win v BU Fired up.
  17. I saw NT beat the Frogs while I was in HS around 86-87. As a student it was the UT game in 88. After the game a bunch of us actually went onto the field and spit on their logo in the end zone...how nuts would that be today, i am still surprised we wern't shot, instead no one even said a word to us, must have been their guilt.
  18. Some History...(more to come soon) From Arkstfan Nov 2005 Well Idaho, NMSU, and USU who needed to be in a regional league have paid $750,000 and watched their attendance fall from where it was in the Sun Belt. One of the most knowledgeable La.Tech posters has broken down La.Tech's financial situation and said with no reservation that in two more years La.Tech will no longer be able to afford membership in the WAC. The costs have become so bad that last year they had to pass the hat on the website to get enough money to send the tennis team to a tournament in El Paso. That was while the WAC money was good because UTEP, SMU, Rice, and Tulsa weren't taking a share and while Tech had conference trips to Tulsa, Dallas, and Houston. Bitch and moan about the Sun Belt being unworthy of your greatness and aspirations but your administration needed only to look at the public documents regarding Tech's financial health to make the decision that WAC membership would be potentially fatal to the entire athletic program. UNT has spent more on the athletic complex alone than Tech has spent on all facilities combined while in the WAC. They lost their bowl game in San Jose because it never drew enough fans to be remotely viable. The NCAA nearly pulled their charter three years in a row because they couldn't post the letter of credit by the deadline, the NCAA finally gave up and pulled the plug and there are rumors that not every creditor got paid fully. Scoff at the New Orleans Bowl but it is financially viable and local ticket sales in Lafayette are ahead of the same time in New Orleans. The New Orleans Bowl made it despite ACTIVE work by the Sugar Bowl to discourage local business support of the game. Now WAC teams are left with a trip to Hawaii if Hawaii isn't eligible or a trip to warm and sunny Boise. The Sun Belt will match the WAC in bowl berths probably in 2007 but no later than 2008.
  19. Oh, i'm not making a case for Fouts, just saying we dont need 40,000 right off the bat. I would be happy with 30,000 and no endzone seats. Then if we ever need to add, add the endzone.
  20. Froggies have been itching to add suites and were contemplating knocking off the upper deck and adding suites ontop of the alumni side, but figured it would take more than a year to pull off and didnt want to play next season off campus. So they are adding suites to the south endzone concourse. From what I hear they will have the closest suites to the field in the country. Think about this, knowing how big Amon Carter feels, if they took off the upper deck it wouldn't be much larger than what we have now.
