I'll go further...it's cost us for about 10 seasons! I don't think we've been able to hit free throws since Jankovich. It's been awhile, but I seem to recall we shot pretty decently from the stripe then.

And we scored both goals extremely late. Huge win for the Ladies.

I'd bet almost anything the football stadium was not the main reason we were left out of CUSA. For one thing, football isn't the be all end all of conferense shakeups, otherwise why would a school like Marquette get a Big East invite? The fact that we weren't particularly competitive in any sport other than football in the SBC hurt us. As did SMU being in the DFW market. As did no baseball team. There are numerous factors that caused us to get squeezed. I do doubt we'll replace Fouts anytime soon though - I'll agree with you there.

I love how Troy always gets thrown around as a school that has passed us, since they have yet to win a conference title. The "only averaging 15K argument speaks volumes" gets old too, considering when I was a student in the late 90's we were lucky to get 15K for Homecoming. Hell last year we increased our attendance average with a 2-9 team. And it's possible we may increase it again this season.

Who says defensive wars are necessarily boring? Hell I think the best game I saw all year was LSU/Auburn and that was 7-3.

I think where ever you're from, you tend to think those natural disasters as "normal". Earthquakes, hurricanes...those can devastate regions...tornados maybe a housing development or small community. I don't look forward to the "Big one" out here...that's for damn sure.

Yeah, but Rutgers is in a BCS conference, which means the yelling will be far louder than from BSU which just hopes to make a BCS game of any sort.

Joe Novak's overall record is 57-62. People would be talking about low expectations, and how can we have a coach with a losing record after 9+ years.

One of the most dramtic games I've ever listened to. I'll enjoy this one for quite some time. Hell I enjoyed the last second win we had in ....I wanna say 1997 in our last game of the year. (Jason Mills threw a TD on the last play of the game) And we weren't any good that year. But I still have fond memories of it.

Did we play well? Not particularly. But that was gutsy guys. The team deserves alot of credit.

The Cotton Bowl seats over 70K. Overall I think the SEC does have the loudest fans(not just your Auburn's or LSU's...but even in Mississippi State with their cowbells or South Carolina where they are rabid even though they almost never have winning teams), but there are hostile environments in ALL the conferences.

Well we tied for the title with 5-1 marks. But since we beat them head to head we went to the Bowl despite them having a better overall record....which they brought up for about 2 seasons. They did get rings made though IIRC.

Seeing as she's coming from NC....I bet she's into college hoops. So following sports in general wouldn't surprise me.

I played tennis in HS at a 5A school in the mid 90's EagleMan. Going off the pictures of the Waranch complex it's way better than a "HS facility at best". That or else I got jipped.
