  1. Pit Bull owner here! Our dog would rather lick you to death than ever attack. TRUTH! We also have a 1-year-old daughter, and not once have I ever feared for her safety. EVER. People always say: "You never know when... they just attack one day, it's bred into them..." In actuality, attacking a human is NOT bred into a pitbull. As a matter of fact, back in the days when these dogs were being bred to fight for sport, a human would be in the ring with the dogs. If one of the dogs bit the human referee, that dog automatically lost and was often immediately terminated. So, in actuality, the opposite trait was bred into these dogs: do not bite humans or you will die. Will a pitbull attack and kill other dogs/cats/random animals? That is more likely. That is what they were bred to do. However, if you're a responsible owner, how would your dog get an opportunity to do that? Alot of the attacks are from pitbull mixes. Once you take a dog as fierce as a pitbull and mix it with another type of dog that was never bred to not bite humans, then give that dog to an irresponsible owner, you're asking for trouble. I urge any of you who have this misconception to go do some homework on this awesome breed: Pitbull411.com TheREALPitbull.com Any of you seen Lil' Rascals? Petey? The pitbull used to be an adored breed by all of America. Only fairly recently has that changed. By the way, the Pit Bull is widely considered an almost worthless guard dog. My wife tells a story about a time when we were living in an apartment and I was away on business. She heard what she thought was violent knocking on our door. Rather than going into "killer beast mode", our 60-lb pit bull cowered underneath the coffee table, tail between her legs. Turns out, one of the legs on the washing machine got off-kilter! Serial PitBull killer finds himself in Hickory Creek, he will have a problem. Not with my dog, but with me!
  2. Oh, so now we're just going to wipe Mestransfere right off the map? Where are these poor people going to live now?
  3. I was hoping the Rangers would pick him up, but not at this price/contract length. I think he makes the Tigers better. But, where's Miggy going to play? OF? If he DH's full-time, I think his production will slip. Will be an interesting season for the Tigers.
  4. It's certainly not the same SBC of the early 2000's when UNT was waltzing through... And as long as UNT is in this conference, I hope every team gets to hire a quality coach like Dan McCarney, Mario Christobal, or Gus Malzahn.
  5. We have 2 more spots to fill right? We cant sign ALL of these guys...
  6. This phrase, or a derivative, is popping up from you alot recently. Bluntly, it reeks of stubbornness. I wouldn't go as far as FFR, where poo-poo is concerned, but it seems like a slight to the ladies to start the tailgate festivities during a ladies bball game. I don't know if whoever chartered the idea knew it was a doubleheader or not... maybe that is the issue: lack of competency? Otherwise, if someone knew of the women's bball game and scheduled the tailgate anyway, the ladies were poo-poo'd on. Looking again at your original post, there's no mention of the ladies game, which makes me think they were not even thought of... If so, that's ok, just admit that and move on. To promote attendance of the tailgate, sponsored by the denton chapter of the alumni association during a women's BB game is certainly NOT promoting the women's bball team. Do you at least agree with that? It's one thing for a group of posters on here to say: "Hey, we're tailgating during the women's bball game in anticipation of the mens game". It's totally different to have a sanctioned group that represents a large body of alumni to do the same. My $.02... and honestly, here's to hoping for a light turnout at the tailgate.
  7. Bingo. Deep draft class coming up. He's gotta have a guarantee from a team that "If you're available when we draft at <1st round pick> slot, we're going to take you". If he's not a first round guarantee, he'll be back at UNT. If he's a low-first round choice, then his decision is a little harder. This is where I think he'll wind up, unless UNT gets to the NCAA tourney and Tony goes nuts. I anticipate a long waiting game from Mr. Mitchell... up to the deadline to declare. Is the process to declare "without an agent" still an option? If so, the decision may be stretched out even longer.
  8. What is your point Silver? If the band/dancers/cheerleaders/talons/etc... put on a fantastic show, then it is more important to the gameday atmosphere than the football team winning? There are certainly going to be bandwaggon fans. Even the great teams that you are referencing have down years and bandwaggon fans jump off (probably even moreso than any bandwaggon fans UNT may have). There's no way a band that exudes pageantry brings back bandwaggon fans. They'll be on board during the good times (winning) and will not show during the bad times (losing). That's just the way it is. Win and they will show up. Lose and they wont. Simple as that. Now, win consistently for a LONG TIME and create history as LSU/OSU/Wisconsin/Michigan have, then the bandwaggon fans become core fans and the base will be so large that the bandwaggon fans will not affect the stadium attendance because the core fanbase will be so large that the bandwaggon fans won't matter. The band/dancers/cheerleaders/talons/etc..., as great as they can be, have no bearing on this at all IMO (unless you're a music major or something).
  9. haha. KRAM, check the dates... this is from last year.
  10. Yep, with the void left by Jones and Williams, he's bound to pick up extra slack and Scouts will notice. We've just gotta maximize him being here... Here's to a conference championship and some noise in the tourney.
  11. Not to go all conspiracy theorist on y'all, but I still wonder if him being from the same high school Darius Carey is from had anything to do with his decommitment?
  12. It's either a bit, or Bowler's the most miserable poster on here.
  13. Do all of you vindictive guys REALLY feel that way? Put yourself in any of our coaches' shoes. Would you really go tell off a guy you've been chasing for a year or more because he said he might be interested in another school? REALLY? The second you tell them "We're not as interested in you now because you're not as interested in us..." is the second you lose that commit. Plain & simple. All that said, Devante, if you read this board: Get up here man. We're excited to see you in Green and we've been excited ever since you committed!
  14. Wait, which Prince are you talking about? This guy looks pretty "Asian Pitcher" to me:
  15. Replace Rainey with Dunbar and you have the consensus idea about UNT as well...
  16. Well, just like we shouldn't bash the kids for not making their grades, we shouldn't bash the AD for not making the guys' grades. Right? Just how short are we now? Holmen banged up, Hogans out for the forseable future, Robinson still on the mend, and now we lose these two... We're not going to replace Jones' production, but it's Trey's time to shine, and Alzee is a capable combo guard, as is Walton. We don't really have that athletic swingman to replace Williams, but I suppose it opens up more PT for Franklin and Niko. We really need to get our injured guys healthy ASAP!
  17. I'll take some corners who can cover/tackle before I begin thinking about QB's.
  18. Or, you can take it to discount tire where they patch for free.
  19. This New York team is eerily similar to the 2008 Super Bowl winner. They will beat the niners. I think the AFC championship game is a toss up.
  20. To answer the first question: No. Although some people will turn it into ammunition against them. To offer an opinion on the second statement: That is disturbing sir. Are you saying this should not be reported? If so, Why not?
  21. I remember this one. It looked like Tony was looking for Alzee to pop out to the corner and spot-up for a 3, but Alzee started to cut to the basket just as Tony sent the ball to the corner. Simple miscommunication. Happens to the best of them. Soon, these will begin to minimize as these guys figure out not only the offensive system, but their teammates' styles. Yep. I remember this one too... although I only remember it once. Close to the end of the game. Totally caught Trey off guard with his pass. Trey was on his way up the court with Tony, not looking for a pass. These guys just need time.
