  1. If you put "Mitchell" on the back, it would no longer be a replica. Our guys don't have their names on the backs of their jerseys.
  2. I'm not taking ANY bullets for this team until someone answers the 2 following questions: 1. Can we? 2. Will we?
  3. At the game last night I saw a few people scattered around wearing a jersey-style T-Shirt with Tony's number on the back. Where can I get one of those? Is this a UNT bookstore only thing?
  4. I love this. Giving a nod to probably the most prolific team to come through here in a long time (if not ever) wins points from me.
  5. My favorite play was the Alzee steal, then pass to a streaking Tony Mitchell completely uncontested (the WKY players were literally walking back). I'm gearing up for the highlight dunk of the evening... perhaps a 720 or something like that? Instead, Tony fumbles the ball under the basket, picks it back up, looks around for a defender (who are all still on the other side of the court watching), then just throws it down with a simple 2 hand jam. I was laughing so hard... I guess what they say is true: The only person who can stop Tony Mitchell, is Tony Mitchell.
  6. It happens more often than you might think.
  7. I don't think Ricky Rubio is eligible to hold political office in the US. But, I bet he'd have some pretty slick assists to the President if he were the VP. Dude's a baller!
  8. The reason I think it will be a pretty smooth transition is because Mac is a defensive-minded coach. I'm sure he understood the ins & outs of coach Bowen's schemes, and I'm pretty sure he's familiar with coach Skladany's schemes, so he should be able to ease the transition. Plus, we still have Zach Orr in the middle helping to call the game on the field as well. He seems like he would be able to pick up on a new scheme pretty quickly.
  9. Sure are! How 'bout: EulessEagle: "Webpage citation: The art of subliminally making a point." TheTastyGreek: "Statistics made Easy: The science of crafting poigniant statistics in the blink of an eye." FireFightnRick: "Cannons 101" Cooley: "DFW Basketball: The ins & outs of identifying future basketball stars/busts at the High School level" I'm sure there are others that I missed.
  10. Flower Mound could hire Hayden Fry and we would still have problems getting their top talent to come up to NT for the same reasons it's hard to get Denton Ryan/Guyer kids... They don't want to stay this close to home. I wonder if he'll actually come back to HS football, or if this is just his fall-back plan. Surely some other D-1 school (FBS or FCS) out there would want him as a QB's coach?
  11. Was probably pulled when we picked up DQ Johnson recently. I think they're holding for Leo Thomas, but wont have any other DB's lined up after him.
  12. Question for the flipping-outers: When did we find out that the UH game was going to be moved last year? If it was before January 3rd, 2011, then feel free to continue flipping-out. If it was after that, Chill! It's really too early in the offseason for this kind of reaction, IMHO.
  13. It's weird to see this, then look to the left at your avatar... You must not be a real Tony Mitchell fan.
  14. Well Zo, here you go. You're our big-body in the paint now. Looking forward to seeing you step up sir! This will force Holmen to stay around the basket and post more. Mitchell can obviously chip in as well. Can Niko? We'll probably see more from Franklin down low too?
  15. Whatever. This is just another excuse for LOSING. I don't understand why Johnny just doesn't have the guys press during the entire game.
  16. Here's a stumper for ya: If a tree gets a new coach in the forest, does anyone on this board care?
  17. Gotta agree with Gray here. I think it would be worse for Jordan's development to have him come off the bench. He's used to being one of, if not the best players on the court at all times. Now, he has tougher competition to deal with. What I would like to see more of from Jordan is creating his own shots. Driving to the basket, fadeaway shots, post moves... I haven't really seen much of that from him. He's been a FREAK in transition, and he's getting some good looks from 3. I've seen him use the baseline a few times to create shots, and I hope he continues to do that, but I'd love to see him put the ball on the floor, use his quick first step to get by a defender (I know he's got this, I've seen it a few times) and create a shot in the lane. It may be a confidence issue, it may be that he needs some coaching, but he certainly does not need the 6th man role.
  18. Although some of them have been flops, I am as well. It would be nice if the Mean Green were the next Nike pet project like Boise, VA Tech and TCU. Heck, we've already changed our uniforms around enough the past few years... it would just be par for the course.
  19. Totally agree. Extremism is cited all the time both Christian & Muslim... Sadly, I think many Americans would belive that all Muslims have some extremism in them which is just not fair. I'm glad you're here to refute that thought.
