  1. Ramblers first team in the Sweet 16, Illinois first top seed to be knocked out. How do these analysts get paid so much to be so wrong? Even at the half, they all said they predicted Illinois to come back and win. Not only did they not do that, but the Ramblers outscored the Illini in the second half, too.
  2. The four games they debated over were Syracuse/West Virginia, Arkansas/Texas Tech, Rutgers/Houston, and Oral Roberts/Florida. The four games the panelists didn't debate over because all three agreed on the same victor were Baylor/Wisconsin, Illinois/Loyola, Oregon State/Oklahoma State, and us. Assuming they all predicted Illinois.
  3. Saw this article yesterday and didn't think much of it. Not really much thought into anyways, like a lot of ESPN garbage. All the remaining teams seeded 13 or lower like us were the 8 seeds. Really creative insight by the writer. 🙄
  4. This is the first and only time I've felt envious of the folks who live in Indiana. How lucky for them that all of this madness is in their backyards. While we may not have a good opportunity to send many fans to support in person, I think we can win some people over who are just at the games to watch some good basketball. Meanwhile, it looks like our basketball Instagram profile has gained over 1,000 followers since the Tournament (if I'm remembering numbers correctly) and over 500 Twitter followers.
  5. I love Jim Nantz and Bill Raftery but they're gonna have to wash their mouth with soap after all this Illinois asskissing today.
  6. Caught the last part of College Game Day on ESPN this morning. While the three panelists didn't all agree on the winner of the 15 ORU/7 Florida or 10 Rutgers/2 UH games, apparently there were no disagreements on our game. Starting to feel like we'd need to beat Baylor in the Sweet 16 before we start getting any extra attention.
  7. I was disappointed in ESPN. After Oral Roberts completed the upset, they continued that game as their main front page story. Once the Mean Green finished their job, any proof of our magnificence was wiped off the front page; in fact, the only evidence from the game was video of Purdue's fast break poster.
  8. I didn't have Ohio State making it too far in any of my brackets, but I did with Texas. I did pick North Texas to beat Purdue in 3/4 brackets though, including the one I have money in 😈
  9. Despite the limited fans, I'm really looking forward to the tournament with Duke and Kentucky not being in. Looks like Gonzaga and Baylor both have legitimate shots at their first national titles. That is of course, if North Texas doesn't get hot.
  10. If we pull off the upset, or make it competitive, I also hope the social team takes advantage like UMBC did when they beat #1 Virginia a few years ago.
  11. That is awesome to hear. Hate taking this year for granted, but I hope we make it back again soon, under normal circumstances, so we'd likely be in a neutral venue much closer to home and an easier drive.
  12. Ticketmaster shows the lowest ticket currently for Friday's game is $112... I almost feel bad because Purdue will have almost every fan in the building behind them, with this essentially being a home game for them. If the Green can somehow make it to Week 2, when they would play a Sweet 16 game on a Saturday, I am manifesting my way to Indianapolis somehow.
  13. Love this photo of Mac celebrating his guy hitting a big shot. From the DMN article: https://www.dallasnews.com/sports/unt-mean-green/2021/03/14/grant-mccasland-took-over-one-of-the-worst-teams-in-the-country-4-years-ago-now-north-texas-basketball-is-a-champion/
  14. What does @Harrythink about changing the Rick reaction to a number 7?
  15. One thing I will add too is that, at least in these last two games, is that UNT balled out at the free throw line. Too many times, even in the pros, teams kill themselves missing key FT's when they're trying to make a comeback or have an opportunity to put the game away. However, the refs totally could have called a technical foul on Terence Lewis for running onto the court before when WKU inbounded with 2.5 seconds left.
  16. My postgame thoughts... (and Sunday morning realizations)
  17. I would like the record to show that I had 0 posts on Page 7...
  18. Bassey got half of his points from the charity stripe, including that bailout "blocking foul". Zach was somehow able to shoot over 50% on Bassey.
  19. It feels nice breaking the hearts of WKU fans. Usually that's their cousins' job.
  20. Don't know how it works, but no conference champion should have to play in the First Four.
  21. Another example of Grant's genius: telling our guys to not exert unnecessary energy by running to the court from the tunnel!
  22. I am trying to switch behind forum posting and heckling. Doing my best. 😥
