  1. Jeff just needs about 10 lbs more and he would be THE MAN! also, we need to collectively start praying to keep this staff intact for another year or too... Like Pentecostal style fasting a prayer... I'll start organizing the revival now. On a serious note, If the team keeps getting better like this, we are gonna lose some coaches this year.
  2. i did mean bite and I was thinking more in terms of quality depth 2-3 years down the line when these recruits really need to hit.
  3. I think Garner is faster than Scott and better in coverage. I honestly don't care which one of them is out there, they both seem capable.
  4. Another close miss in the first recruiting class that might come back to bit us.
  5. I meant that far more literally than you thought. There is only one guy still playing qb from last season and he isnt on scholarship.
  6. Guys... our QB room already has no resemblance to what was here just last year... it is only going to get better now! i am so glad we have coaches that can go out and get a guy. It is a refreshing change of pace.
  7. OU and OSU to the BIG10 (however many teams that would be) and Kansas State, Iowa State, SMU and Middle Tennessee would add to this group to make 16. So sorry I just commandeered your fantasy... Let's just call it a shared delusion. No way SMU is left out and we're in... no way.
  8. This is a little bit of a conspiracy theory (not really since it was in the report that was published not long ago) but I believe that Wren Baker is attempting to position us to be more attractive when the Big 12 collapses and the schools in this region scramble to make a solid conference inits place. With a new indoor facility and potential expansion of our training facilities as well as the academic center, we could be a more attractive school than most here realize. But none of that matters if you do not win. Just imagine playing TCU, Houston, Baylor, and Tech every season. We could be looking at that here in the next 4-5 years.
  9. Now that I think about it... all you would need to have an indoor facility that track athletes can train in is a 120 yard sprint lane (2-4 lanes) along side of the field... that would probably be ok for when the weather is bad and wouldn't add that much more space to the project.
  10. Yes Sir. I agree with you about Goree and will even throw Okeeron Rutherford into the same category. This is their 3rd year in the program and they aren't noticably stronger, faster, or bigger than they were when they got here. It really makes me question the nutrition program here that these guys aren't maturing at the expected pace, even for naturally skinny dudes.
  11. Some posters were labeling him a diva without knowing exactly what was going on with him and the coaching staff last year. We have no clue what happened in his recruiting and can't say that he is a diva or anything else. For all we know, the coaches are the ones that didn't bring him in last year and are going to let him walk on now. Who knows, all that matters is the kid may get a shot, and I hope that he takes it and runs with it. It will be hard to get shine here with what Fine is doing right now, but if he is better, he will play... just ask Alec Morris.
  12. There were suggestions to add an indoor track to the facility to allow the track guys to practice there when the weather is an issue.
  13. Space is earmarked for another dorm that is Victory's mirror image. I say the intramural fields is the perfect spot for the IPF because it is for all sports and that is pretty central in the mean green village, especially when the track facility is built.
  14. yeah... i think this is super premature but if we win the west and play for a conference championship this season I may actually die... like pass away... RIP to me.
  15. my above statement is with the caveat that Wren baker moves the athletic department significantly forward in the next 5 years and makes this place even more attractive.
  16. Harrel to HC would not be a good move. Ekeler on the other hand, and keeping reffett at dc would be best cade scenario should OU or OSU open up in the next 3 years. I dont think Littrell leaves for anything outside the top half of P5 jobs. Keeping ekeler will be a challenge though.
  17. You are kind of making my point for me. I didn't mean the big boys switched, i meant that they tweaked things to modernize and clean stuff up. I don't think that much thought was given to sizing and placing the SOW on the helmets, let alone making sure that the outlining looks good and fairly modern. the black outline with the Green SOW on white helmets looks old... IDK if it is the weight of the outline or the color necessarily, but we just changed abruptly with what seemed like little to no effort from the AD. I actually preferred the Original McCarney uniforms to the new ones BY FAR because of how clean they were. They weren't perfect but they were clean and the full set were able to be mized and matched. I also thought that the Black jerseys were OK, but they seemed a little bit lazy too. Like they just got a basic uniform and threw the SOW all over it without much attention and no secondary logo to break the monotony (I am a fan of adding the interlocking NT to our uniforms, not as the helmet logo, but on the pants or shoulders or something, I think that would be a clean look as well and a secondary logo would be cool). I want a cleaner look on our uniforms is all... modern or traditional, the AD needs more attention to detail than the previous regime in how we market ourselves on and off the field.
  18. What's wrong with that? They want to be at the vanguard of everything they do... including how they dress. I say good for them and I wish we put a little bit more effort into our uniforms as a department. We all know the current uniforms are literally stock uniforms out of the nike catalog... No one even tried. Also, I would like to see a redesign of the SOW we use on helmets. I think it is a good look but the boarder color choices we have now make it look pretty lame to be honest. the Green SOW with black borders on the white helmet for example just looks kinda lazy... try something else. Look at what other schools are doing with their logos to keep it fresh and innovative. We just started using the SOW on helmets and it already looks old and tired... you would think we have been using the exact same insignia for like 20 years. Even UT changed their longhorn on their helmets to keep it fresh.
  19. I am really starting to believe in the transformative power of purposeful leadership. I think we will see an uptick in the functioning of UNT athletics, so long as the money is allocated to make changes. Much like anything else, it will cost more to fix it initially before you can reap the benefits.
  20. Thanks! We are pretty bad. We all knew that the AD was not functioning well, come to find out they weren't even trying most of the time!
