  1. This isn't accurate. This topic is ultimately in the hands of the district committee to decide. And for scheduling purposes (favors), politics and God knows what else... These strings get pulled frequently. http://www.uiltexas.org/policy/eligibility
  2. I agree. Most of the decisions are left up to the district within the guidelines of what UIL has structured but if they had had some level of stability in the rules 20 years ago it would have made a bigger difference. A certain HOF coach from Celina ( who is a friend of mine, btw...) kind of broke the mold on this subject. You can't stop anyone from leaving a public school to go to a private but public to public school transfers are OUT OF CONTROL. ESPECIALLY when they transfer between 3 local schools within their high school career. There are too many loopholes to count.
  3. CELINA. BOBCATS. Not going to knock on Guyer... Lol Basketball has collectively been a lot worse in recruiting in the recent years than football has. UIL really needs to reevaluate managing this AGAIN. It's almost like they go on hiatus every five years. NOT TO MENTION... Basketball rules in regards to officiating. They have thrown in a couple of new rules that completely take away the post game. Hate it.
  4. Can I ask why NO ONE has mentioned Celina or Argyle? They are awful about recruiting.
  5. ??LOL. DONT TELL HIM I POSTED THAT!!! Lol
  6. From MY current and past personal experience.... They are not supposed to BUT they use the financial aide assistance lure for athletes all of the time . A member of our posse received ALMOST full assistance for his "outstanding academic achievements (cough *bad ass basketball player* cough)" to a local TAPPS school which was transferred to his Senior year. There was a RB a few years ago who played at North Texas who was also recruited by Coach Bowles (RIP). My cousins all were as well. One of which, also played at UNT.
  7. Wouldn't be shocked to see Miss State after things get moved around.
  8. I agree? I'm not sure where I gave you the impression that we have differing views.
  9. Here's my official prediction. WE WILL BE PLAYING IN THE HEART OF DALLAS BOWL. Not sure about opponent but I am confident that HOD will do whatever they have to (unless they are made a trade offer that they can't refuse) to get us there. So there. ?
  10. The strange transition of facial expressions runs in the family. Love it! ???
  11. Agreed. LaTech may be in Hawaii (ITS POSSIBLE!) and HoD doesn't want LaTech either. SUPER excited to see how this unfolds! Against my favorite players wishes... My fingers are so crossed for the heart of Dallas. How fitting would it be for the 7 true freshman that came in and played in 2013 to go out in the same stadium... ?
  12. Detroit would be the absolute WORST case. I know that @KRAM1 mentioned this one but that is the only one that I have not heard about communication with. Who knows... I think South Florida is probably a lock in St. Petersburg and I can still see WKU at the Armed Forces bowl VS Navy and UNT playing Mississippi State at HoD. I can't see Mississippi State versus western Kentucky generating the kind of attendance HoDallas needs right now after 2 pretty bad attendance years... @ChristopherRyanWilkes
  13. There is NO WAY to even guess at this point where we are going... I think it's safe to say that there is a list of bowls that we are definitely not going to. What I would like to see is a list of the bowls that are possible.
  14. It's been pretty quiet today and last night. From what I have been told... There is no way to speculate where we are going at this point. I KNOW that Heart of Dallas would love to have us BUT there are so many trades and conversations going on right now so who the heck knows... Everything has changed in the past 2 days and my guess is that it will continue to change over the next 4-5 days. I keep getting information and then that information changes. Lol
  15. Yep. I am 100% rooting for us having a bowl here close to home and think it would make the most sense for attendance purposes. I think that our 2013 showing with 38K is going to make a huge difference in where we end up. Point- I agree with your comments and this young team that has more or less battled with consistency the entire season has however been consistent on one thing - HYPE games with large green crowds and a lot of enthusiasm going in... We have consistently played very well. I don't want to play navy but if we were to play a team as talented as Navy (and let's be honest... MOST of the teams that we have been projected to play are projected to KILL us) playing in the DFW area would (could) be a saving grace. Most of the people who showed up for that 2013 bowl game did not follow us the entire season. Outside of a couple thousand alumni who have remained loyal fans to our athletic department, (Most of whom are frequent commentators on here) people buy bowl tickets because they want to go to a bowl. Having a local team playing in a local bowl commonly generates great attendance.... Even with a pesky 5-7 team. I think we are going to generate a surprising crowd if we play here in Texas.
  16. Player text said Vegas or Tucsan. Unless Heart of Dallas makes a trade and a lot of stuff gets moved around... My educated guess is that we will be playing in one of these three.
  17. Hopefully the last few threads regarding bowls and whether or not we should even accept an invite is not stumbled upon by any bowl executives assistants. They think we will bring numbers and if they see our Fanbase saying that we shouldn't even go and it doesn't count because we didn't earn it .... Lol
  18. ??? heck no. We do NOT want to play Navy.
