  1. This. This is an assessment far removed from anything we've heard of QB play and the "pecking order" since January.
  2. You know what? I'm glad this was really honest rather than coach speak or spin.
  3. This isn't informed or anything, but every time I slowly drive by practice on the way to the Pavilion in the last week, I've continuously seen Dajon Williams getting reps. Now yes, I realize everyone gets reps, but its literally every time... Number 11 wants it. Plus, RV raved about him yesterday in the GMG State of the Union podcast.
  4. Here's something I've wondered. With ya'll joining the Sun Belt, that has to put ya'll in contention with Hawai'i with the most difficult travel arrangements to endure. Is the SB going to assist in this in any way, or is the Idaho admin just biting the bullet and are happy that they've got a conference home?
  5. I'm so, so pumped for this. Also another newer Denton band to check out: Chambers.
  6. Dang, a part of UNT football I had no clue of! In my last few months as a Senator in SGA a few years ago, a fellow Senator and I put together some pretty good legislation on obtaining a new live mascot in the mindset of the War Eagle at Auburn. Our proposal was to build a separate wing/sanctuary for the bird(s) off of the excellent mini-conservatory that is adjoined to the EESAT building on its North side. It would be replete with its own staff and would have partnered with the Talons for training, etc. What would of have been super awesome for its location would be including the eagles and sanctuary as part of the excellent science and nature field trips that the EESAT offers elementary schoolers. We proposed to fund the whole thing with a significant portion of SGA's M&O budget as those funds had largely gone unused or at least not used in a satisfactory manner or on things with a low ROI, and any remaining funds would roll into a general surplus fund at the conclusion of the school year. We ended up falling into the pitfall of lame duck session though, as we were at the point where Senate didn't want to consider any new expenditures as a new President and administration was incoming and many of those Senators wanted to apply for paid Cabinet positions... so, don't dedicate the new guy's coffers, look good in getting a job. You know, politics. ---- I for one though would be ecstatic in helping out an alumni cause/fund to secure a live mascot, and would love to see the EESAT sanctuary idea find life again.
  7. The only ones ever required for two years are instrumental MuEd types. Which account for, I believe, 2/3rd of those involved.
  8. What part is that proposed planned commune-unity of extreme gun-toters going in?
  9. There's an excellent, obvious reason for that one. The Green Brigade, like every other ensemble within the CoM, is a one hour course because the degree plans for music majors could not be completed in any semblance of timeliness of financial viability otherwise. In reality though, the hours involved in ensemble work tends to be something in the range of 5 hours to 20 hours per week, not including outside practicing for individual instrumental, vocal, theory or composition studies, other core coursework and often outside jobs to make rent. And for what? For upwards of a dozen major performances tops along with hundreds of weakly-attended smaller ones, only to be criticized for minute things that are inconsequential to the underlying goal of music making at the highest level possible. And folks wonder where our "prima donna" leanings come from. Simply put, though the GB is a slightly different case by its natural and relation to Athletics, people need to start realizing that we musicians are just like the rest of you; we're dedicating ourselves to a profession that is severely undervalued, that takes up a monumental portion of our lives, and is such where we feel easily insulted by the many subjugations of those who do not fully understand our world. We make no assumptions of making the same critical comments over professions that we're not of either. So, there, I guess. /thread.
  10. Just for the old school way of thread-dom: First. *I'm just gonna play by play this. MONDAY MONDAY MONDAY. Joe Greene's gonna sign things for auction... Someone alert the NCAA and A&M's lawyers. VEGAS UPDATE: Spread against Idaho -> -27º We got big long lanky things. New boy band: Marcus Trice and the Young Pups. Why not Junior Year visits? National prestige games, NT90. Hey, give me a check. I'm just gonna lie here and roll around. *Man, I love RV quotes.* Yes! Relief mounts! This is awesome. Baseball tailgating will be over 9000. Butts in seats, folks. Butts in seats.
  11. Says the guy with the flying worm logo as his avatar.... outlined in green.
