MWC is better than CUSA but its brutal traveling out west. We did it in the Big West days. We would get back at the worst times. Its exhausting but was fun. The bus rides from the airport back to Denton hurt at 4 am. Especially after the towel caper (day games though lol) or terrible beatings.

I would hire him. He was no more to blame for the conduct of other individuals than Matt Simon was when we had a serial rapist on our team that transferred from OU. With the logic he is guilty for life then Ed Orgeron at LSU needs to be banished too. He was never in the same category of Joe Paterno either. I believe in redemption for Briles.

I think a pretty easy reason to see why we have trouble recruiting is perception. My daughters always tell me when they wear NT gear kids always say NT sucks. Can't really argue with that. Whenever we have a chance to change that perception we go ahead and start losing again. Example, beating the crap out of an SEC school and have a play that will be rerun for ages (Peter Pan). So, after that we started losing and didn't capitalize. Perception of the entire university locally is bad. The high school kids turn their noses up at NT. Example, one of my good friends daughter's was applying to colleges. I told her to check out NT. She just said, "uh, no." It starts will the perception locally of NT. I don't get those responses outside this region. For instance, in El Paso, Austin, or Oklahoma people talk to me about what a cool place Denton is and how great the music is. It isn't shocking to me when kids go somewhere else. But I can't fathom going to say Ruston, LA vs Denton, TX. As someone who doesn't sit at home much I seriously can't fathom something like that. I get it if the university is just flat out better academically though. I really don't know what NT can do to fix its reputation as a university and athletically. After so many decades of disrepair. Improving perception will help recruiting more than anything.

I thought that penalty summed up the state of the team. Discipline is a big problem. We have way to many penalties.

We have a pretty bad Defense but luckily we are making up for it with poor Special Teams play and sub par offensive play with plenty of turnovers.

My dad was involved with the Sun Bowl for years. Its about money. If by giving back you mean filling hotels, TV deals, filling up restaurants, bars, ticket, sales, events, ect. Then yes. Financially it gives to the community. The current decision to not move it means not a dime is made. All the stuff surrounding it is fun and obviously not happening this year but there's something to be said for saying we played it in light of everything. Especially to say we are a very old but important bowl so we are playing it. Regardless if for one game. Could have been cool to sell its history and EP. My thoughts anyway. I use to love going to the Sun Bowl growing up too. Good times back then. The Sun Bowl seems to have lost its luster in a sea of bowl games kinda like you said. Great memories.

I'm not sure we will play UTEP this year. I just read of 87,000 or so known active Rona cases in the entire State of Texas, just under 40,000 are in El Paso County and there are only 820,000 living in the county.

They aren't making great choices out in EP these days it seems. Any number of venues would have gladly taken the opportunity for a lot of reasons.

How about the best person for the job? I am happy she got to play. It was a media event for sure but I'm still happy for her. I feel bad for the practice squad guys that didn't play, ever, because they weren't talented enough but were part of the team. We all have different perspectives but I think its cool it was a future NT player and local kid.

You can't make up the stupity of that nonsense.
