Is it me or is the one guy on their board obsessed with "North Texas State" and everything but athletics? It seems to me he suffers from a type of phallic envy. Bed space, tier 1, student body size, ect... Wow. I'm not a douche so I won't refer to them as Southwest Texas State University nor would I throw salt on the wounds they obviously have for not getting what they wanted. Don't they realize our fans don't really pay attention to them and will continue to not pay attention to them because we won't be playing them? Freakin haters and sore losers. They ought to be thankful the Sunbelt might want them because some other D1 schools that have been D1 won't be so lucky. Entitlement junkies.

I am going to get a hotel room on the river walk, eat everything in site, and drink every beer in and outside of that stadium. It will fun. All the haters should be happy because it will be really fun. Not to mention its a reason for friends to meet down there. Additionally, I love the Longhorn Cafe.

Does anyone think they weren't going to vote to change conferences? If you host a visit you better be in a position to accept if offered. Just like us. Nothing has been offered to anyone. Especially not us, yet.

I don't know when you left but El Paso but it doesn't resemble Texas anymore. Its not the town it was. It's sad. Of course the educated people with jobs you spoke of left and didn't return. When I left people told me to enjoy the real Texas. Not a joke. I laughed though because it's true. However, Las Cruces is nice, we should go there and play again if we go out that way. I don't know why anyone cares about us playing the Miners. It's been ages since we played them. It appears we won't be in the same conference so we will continue to not play them. We aren't missing much. NMSU was always fun.

I can tell you as someone who lived in El Paso, that El Paso isn't Texas other than geographically speaking. People speak like EP is close to DFW, Houston, or any Texas city of any size for that matter. It's not. California is closer. It is pretty secluded no matter what. A lot of the average people on the street there don't know who Rice, Tulsa, UNT, Tulane, UTSA are but they know who New Mexico or NMSU are. They are moving back to the conference teams they use to play minus BYU, San Diego State, ect. Good for them either way. If it's better for them then it's great for my friends who are big supporters. It would have been fun to play them if we were in the same conference but it's not like anyone is missing out on anything by not going to El Paso itself. We will be better off from a fan's perspective to go other places that are closer and in better cities.

30 years? Bad idea. 11 Conference Champions + 5 Wildcards = 16 Team Playoff. TV market would destroy the current system and give way to the occasional Cinderella story while being fair to more teams. I think the first thing out of a Congressman I have heard in a while is the current system creates a monopoly on the market and violates the law. Spin? Surely, but the point is to get people talking. A playoff solves all discussions. A 4 game playoff is still bs.

Division 1 football or basketball ain't the Southland Conference. Houston, Texas Tech, Nevada, New Mexico, and Navy next year? Sorry, your team is a doormat. Where do you get the idea that UNT is avoiding playing ya'll? You guys were 1aa and then joined the WAC. Honestly, most folks I know don't give ya'll or UTSA a thought. This is me being honest. I could care less about your school or UTSA and it's smaller than DFW TV market. While you talk about your "winning" team, try winning your first game or conference championship at the FBS level in your school's history. Then come back here with your pathetic taunts. Additionally, we did play ya'll every year for a bit and ya'll went 5-9 against us in the all time record. This is more honesty. We haven beaten you since our last meeting in 1994 and we didn't care about your team then either. Honestly, I care about my team. Good luck leaving your little pond. Happy trolling.

If we stay in the SBC having Texas State and UTSA in our conference would be cool. That being said, I don't think UNT will be in the SBC much longer. No matter what we have a bright future. After going to the Spring Game I am really excited about our team.

Conference USA all the way. Geographically it makes more sense. Rice, Tulsa, UTEP, ect... (I want us to go stomp Rice for the beat down they gave us last time.)

People continue to mention UTEP as a team we should play every year. That is fine, however, it is unrealistic for a lot of our fans to go to. 637 miles from Denton. I am from EP. The Tep is better off playing teams in their region. LA is closer to them drive time then Dallas. UTSA, RICE, SMU, Houston, TX State, are more reasonable for a yearly matching. That being said, I still would love for us to beat them down in addition to the aforementioned Universities.
