  1. Brilliant. Purely, brilliant. You sir are a gentleman.
  2. I think you should factor in the fact you communicate as well as Charlie Brown's teacher.
  3. Dear god man! Stop! Get a hobby, a friend, or perhaps a pet. No one is reading your ridiculous rants. We get it. You can cut, paste, and rant like a homeless person. Ok, now in your response I want no less than 5,000 words and I expect it proof read this time.
  4. I am glad I am not the only one who read these angry posts this way. I love UNT and could honestly care less about other schools, their fans, or angry bloggers that hate my alma mater. Anyway, two things: 1. If we get into this new conference it will be good for the entire athletic department and university. 2. The pedestrian bridge is coming along well. I just stopped to look from the Fouts parking lot.
  5. I get your argument to an extent, however, when Conference USA didn't choose UNT in 2003 they cited lack of facilities as one of their reasons for not selecting UNT. That is why I mentioned this as a potential issue. Hence, Apogee Stadium was built to improve the universities resume. Sure, UNT could have kept going down to Texas stadium or eventually Cowboys Stadium (which makes any sports facility in San Antonio or possibly anywhere look pathetic) but why bother if you can build your own stadium? I never said a negative word about where they play. It has to do with most attractive candidates. With this in mind, your argument isn't a very strong in my opinion. You complaining about stadiums around the country wasn't the point either. No one said a team can't succeed without owning there own stadium. I wanted to hear thoughts on what they have to offer, other than tv. Seeing they have a limited football resume. Honest question in my opinion. They are in a great market. If you'd read my post you would have read something about the San Antonio television market. UTSA doesn't have any historical evidence to make them the strongest candidate for the aforementioned conference because they have a brand new program. No matter what they do, best of luck to them. I will always cheer for Texas teams. If facilities have mattered for some in the past then logic dictates that it will probably come up again. UTSA fans where discussing facility issues on another website and that is exactly why I mentioned it. I'm am truly sorry you didn't read what the Roadrunners fans wrote about their own program but you probably don't get to witness every internet interaction on college football. It wasn't "huge" either, your words. Why do practice facilities matter? Considering the student athletes spend an overwhelming time period at these facilities and any conference should take this into consideration for the students attending a given University. Yes, it matters. It mattered to me when I played at UNT and that was why I was so happy the university invested into improving the facilities. Yes, it helps recruiting. Yes, it helps recruiting in other sports as well. I will give you a hint, other sports can share these facilities. Sorry I even have to mention a practice facility has these things called "training rooms" so if you need rehab or or get injured you can easily access assistance. Again, yes, I'd say they are important and not just if you are winning. Quality does matter in this regard. The student athletes should be taken care of, especially for the money they bring in. If I am a commissioner looking at candidates and what each brings to the table, you are damn right I am going to look at these universities from top to bottom before passing judgment on who to take and why. That's just me though. I guess maybe I am just weird and apparently collect trophies in a closet or whatever weak attempt at condescension that isn't worth repeating.
  6. I don't know if anyone here is a scumbag, however, whoever came up with this idea, everyone who thought it was a good idea for the Athletic Department to implement this, and anyone who signed up for it a are total morons. Good for the insurance company for exposing their lack of moral character, stupidity, and most comically taking their money. Additionally, bravo to the judge for tossing out their stupid crybaby lawsuit.
  7. I can see UNT, Utah State, FIU, and possibly LaTech. San Jose State I know nothing about. However, UTSA is a new program. Which, according to their fans, doesn't even have practice facilities, much less a stadium. Outside of San Antonio TV markets, what exactly do they have to offer if it's true about their lack of facilities. Maybe my intel is wrong?
  8. Anyone have a pic of the design ya'll are talking about?
  9. With great victories against Bacone and Minot State why wouldn't a school believe the are ready to compete at any level?
  10. I never saw the helmet you were talking about but I am with you. We need to stick with one logo.
  11. Are season tickets cheaper since there is one less home game?
  12. Is it true UTSA doesn't have a practice facility nor its own stadium and some believe they are above the Sunbelt? Seriously unreal if that is so. One of the comments on the aforementioned blog stated this.
  13. UTSA would be great for the WAC, a dying conference but not the Sunbelt. Very logical.
  14. I didn't equate your statement to that of a great satirist. Miguel de Cervantes, yes. Moliere, got it. Hell, I even get John Stewart. Sorry. I'll carry on though!
  15. It would be a really good game and a really fun game to go to. One thing is for certain. El Paso shows up to support UTEP football. Especially since Price took over as head coach. They may have a losing record most years but they are the biggest show in town. They would be a great team for us to play hopefully every year. I would travel back to EP everytime we played there if we get them on the schedule. Just be prepared for some trash talking, a hangover (beer from sun up to well after sun down, everywhere) , and heartburn from the good food. (Oh, and a few extra pounds.) I hope we get them on the schedule. It would be fun.
  16. True, people use to watch the revolution from there and other places in El Paso. In pictorial history books they show Americans dressed up in there Sunday clothes to watch the fighting. Right down the street is a building that was temporarily used by Villa and his men. It until recently was the La Hacienda restaurant and had a great bar right on the river. Next door to that is the original Fort Bliss Officers Quarters which are still in good shape and Patton supposedly lived there. Anyway, The Camino Real is a cool place. Anyway, back to football, we need to go spank the Miners.
  17. Why wouldn't he contact both leagues? I would think the answer to that question is simply they are one league now.
  18. Our team steals towels. We also had a player convicted for multiple rapes in Texas and Oklahoma, all while still on the team. Hopefully this doesn't ruin these Tech kids lives after they are punished, if they are guilty that is. Everyone gets bad apples on their teams.
  19. I think we are a better prospective candidate than any other University on that list. It's looking good for us. Just my opinion though.
  20. Probably the Camino Real in downtown El Paso. It's cool. The Dome Bar is really nice. The Sun Bowl isn't very far either. If you head to a game out there hit Cattlemen's out in Fabens. Really cool restaurant and ranch for the kiddos. Old Mesilla, near Las Cruces, is fun. Van Horn just renovated a hotel but I can't remember the name of it. The John Madden Hall of Fame restaurant is in Van Horn as well. DO NOT GO TO JUAREZ!!! It was fun back before murder became the biggest sport in town. It sucks and they have killed a lot of Americans in the last few years. El Paso is safe though. Not kidding, El Paso is fine. Except the occasional stray round from a gun fight that finds a way over. (Not fiction) UTEP would be a great team for us to continue owning. I had to say it. I have several good friends and family who went to UTEP. We have a long history playing, while mostly beating them, and it would be great to continue this tradition. It would enable endless trash talking and some fun beer drinking out there. We'd be outnumbered badly as fans out there. They get rowdy. Hell, one kid got a handy on national television while watching the game for free up on the mountain next to the stadium. (I did not make this up)
  21. I just moved from there. What historic hotel do you speak of? There isn't much to do there as far as the town, it's dirty, and zero night life, however, the game would be good. Football and basketball would be good.
  22. Next week's game will be the biggest game in the history of western civilization.
