I would not want to be in a conference where we are the furthest east team, with a different time zone. Give me regional competition with some regional name recognition! La Tech, Rice , UTSA and UTEP better than what we had !! The biggest threat is the new big least. The Florida and Texas schools do not want any more in state additions !

Bowls payout is in the millions. ( most schools loose money) College football playoffs would be in the Billions! The oid boy bowl system is a joke! i have not watched one bowl game. Will watch Johnny Football.

Big Easy will loose Cincy and Uconn,nix SDSU and Navy what do you have? Add Marshall and UTSA . You may have something! We must keep regional competition. I would not have any interest in the MWC, unless they had an eastern conference. ( that even sounds strange UNT in an eastern conf)

Exit fee structure may be an issue. Can't even imagine the nightmare to start a new conference. How could ESPN predict revenue? I think it is b East or MWC for SMU and Houston. Either way for SMU and Houston they will not have regional competition and will have different time zones with these conferences.

You r dead on. Whether the Big Easy Conf adds from Conf USA or Conf USA adds from Big Easy Conf UNT will be in a better situation. The key for us is regional competition. The d back recruit that just committed nailed it . He said he liked the facilities, the coaching and the regional conference games! Dont want to loose UTEP or Tulsa , but we get Memphis and Tulane I would be OK with it.

Great info. I would like to see how schools would balance out the TV deals compared to greater attendance. Has to be a point where regional competition with increase attendance will become a bigger plus than playing schools on the east or west coast . Attendance 20,000 @ $20.00 $ 400,000 @ 6 home games $2,400,000 30,000 @ $ 20.00 $ 600,000 @ 6 home games $ 3,600,000

Really looking forward to a conference with Tulsa ! I only see this as a benefit for Tulsa if MWC sets up a Eastern Div. They would be the only school out of the time zone. Filling up a stadium with regional competition and lower travel expense has to be a benefit at some point !

As long as can keep our regional west conference, who is in the east doesn't really bother me . We never had regional competition in the Sun Belt !
