  1. I just got off the phone with Jermaine Antoine, the Louisiana cornerback who has been committed to UNT for a few weeks. I also talked with his head coach Trent Delahoussaye this afternoon. A few outlets are reporting that Antoine has flipped to TCU. Delahoussaye also told me that Antoine is flipping to TCU. Antoine told me that he wants to talk things through with his parents tonight. After a while one tends to get a feeling about the way things are going to go with players. I would be surprised if the Louisiana Class 2A all-state selection does not end up at TCU at this point. Delahoussaye pretty much told me that is the way this is going to go, especially in the wake of Justin Gaines leaving UNT’s staff. 2. There's no guarantee TCU will offer Jermaine Antoine, but the Loreauville, La. athlete had the chance to plead his case to Gary Patterson over the weekend. "I told him what I was here for," Antoine said Sunday after his official visit to Fort Worth. "I said I wanted to work hard and go get a BCS championship." 4. Jermaine Antoine, one of UNT’s key recruits, is taking his visit to TCU this weekend after all. Antoine committed to UNT on Jan. 23 and said at the time that he would not visit TCU. I talked to Loreauville (La.) High head coach Trent Delahoussaye this afternoon. He confirmed that Antoine is headed to Fort Worth. Delahoussaye said that TCU has yet to offer and that Antoine has assured him that he is sticking with UNT. Delahoussaye is in UNT’s corner and said that Justin Gaines and Noah Joseph have done a great job with Antoine. read more: http://meangreenblog.dentonrc.com/2013/01/key-unt-recruit-taking-a-visit-to-local-rival-this-weekend.html/

  7. I spent some time working the phones today to see if anything was going to move on the recruiting front. UNT could use some good news right now (the “Mean Green Morale collapse watch” is still on after a brutal few weeks). I did come up with some promising tidbits from a few recruits, but UNT did not land a commitment today after five players visited campus over the weekend. Louisiana DB Jermaine Antoine, maybe the best recruit on UNT’s board; Louisiana DE Claude George and South Garland DT Charles Walker joined UNT commits WR Turner Smiley and Keller OL Cody Nelson in UNT’s visit group. Walker is a new name at a position of need and is the closest of the three non-committed players to going with UNT. He is has good size at 6-4, 280, and also has an offer from Texas State. I am going to try to run him down tomorrow. Read more: http://meangreenblog.dentonrc.com/2012/12/sunday-night-recruiting-roundup.html/
