  1. is it even probably that they get leach?
  2. http://espn.go.com/college-football/story/_/id/7093310/florida-atlantic-owls-list-potential-coaches-includes-leach All the coaches they are considering are pretty sketchy
  3. you might be able to make the connection but the two statements. I see it as the stadium being part of the beauty of the school. When the writer said campus beauty I believe he meant..... the beauty of the campus, which incorporates not only the stadium(major factor) but the whole campus. lets just pray that UH has enough "beauty" to get into BE so we can move up in the world.
  4. And one last thing our campus may be better looking if those damn hippies that don't wear shoes stop walking across the grass, in the flower beds and worst of all through the monkey grass planted around the new business building. Actually that goes for 75% of unt's student body, you lazy %^&*'s, that don't use the sidewalk. Stop complaining about higher tuition when the university has to spend money on grass because your lazy @$$ won't use the sidewalk. Disclaimer: not pointed at any one in particular, it's been on my chest for a while.
  5. Don't get me wrong I love UNT and the campus is fine, but having beauty should not be one way to describe it. I agree with you I don't believe campus beauty has much play. I'm sure it doesn't hurt though.
  6. well we aren't very popular and our campus isn't exactly those most beautiful either.
  7. I HATE the BCS. How come schools like UNT haven't sued them?
  8. according to ESPN Missouri will stay for at least one more year. This is good and gives us a chance to get into cusa. But I still read of rumors that cusa and mwc could still join. Its going to be interesting to see how all this plays out.
  9. Looks like Missouri is stay for now. According to ESPN. I believe this is good for us. Now the BE can stabilize and pick up some C-usa schools, which gives us a chance to move up. http://espn.go.com/college-sports/story/_/id/7087967/big-12-set-10-teams-2012-including-missouri-tigers
  10. "In three home games, UL is averaging 28,285 per game. The Cajuns are on pace to establish the school record for average home attendance and shatter the current standard of 25,224 set in 1977." I'm impressed. Hopefully we can get there soon.
  11. I think we need to bring them back down to earth a little bit
  12. If they lose two then don't you think they will need to add at least two more members....maybe UNT/La.Tech?
  13. Oh wow. I didn't see that. The AP has houston at 25th which seems more accurate. CBS Sports needs to rethink their rankings....But I do agree with Bama at #1. The only thing I agree with on that list.
  14. This is funny. LaLa better than florida, Auburn, Texas A&M. this goes to show you how messed up college FB rankings are.
  15. Not seeing any of this helping us move to a better conference. If the BE decides to take Houston then maybe, but there is no indication of that. Also, no one is looking at the sunbelt to replace any schools that left for other conferences. I think the best thing for UNT and the sunbelt is looking at adding strong respectable schools to the belt (Not sure anyone who is respectable wants be in the belt). Or whore ourselves out and pray someone takes us.
  16. Any one esle notice houston is in the 25 in the AP Poll..... makes our loss a little better
  17. MAYBE we will start feeling the ripple effects of conference realignment. http://meangreenblog.dentonrc.com/
  18. I must say that I enjoyed all the great seating options.
  19. Their video board is 47% bigger than FIU's .
  20. IF FIU leaves then the sunbelt is not that stable, and we would be losing a good team on the rise making the little rep we have that much worse. I hope someone is looking out for us.
  21. If they accept smu will never get the Big 12 invite if Patterson was serious about never helping them again. But Big east could look at SMU and then we could get into C-USA
  22. Oct. 5, 2011 An Open Letter to University of North Texas Students from Head Football Coach Dan McCarney Two weeks ago many of you witnessed something that has never been done before, a Mean Green win over a Big 10 Conference opponent right here on our own campus! It was an incredible night. It was my first win as a coach at North Texas and it was against a team that I have great respect for in Indiana. I told the team before the game to imagine what it would be like to win this game and have the student body rush the field and that dream became a reality. I wouldnt have it any other way than to celebrate my first win in this fabulous new stadium with the tremendous students and fans that helped make it possible. Congratulations are also in order for you. The two-game attendance for Houston and Indiana was 49,256 - the largest two-game attendance figure in school history! I hope that all of you that came out for the first two games and celebrated the win with us on the field will bring a dozen new friends this week and for the rest of the season. We are on pace to set the North Texas all-time attendance record, but need to average 20,000 fans for the rest of the games. We cant do it without you! My coaching staff and I have been working diligently to build this football program and a big part of that includes recruiting outstanding student-athletes. Every time we talk to recruits we brag about the unbelievable home-field advantage that our students create at Apogee Stadium. The atmosphere that you build at Apogee has a large impact on all 16 of our sports. Football games are always part of every student-athletes recruiting experience and your support at the games sends a message that North Texas is a great place to be a student. As a college football coach I only get 12 chances a year to prove my worth, so every game is very meaningful. We only get four more chances to celebrate with our students and fans in Apogee Stadium this year so, we have to take advantage of every opportunity. This Saturday night is our next chance to build this relationship and we need you there. The Mean Green football family appreciates the energy and passion that you have for your school, so lets make it another great Saturday night at Apogee! Go Mean Green, Dan McCarney Head Football Coach University of North Texas

  24. Not saying they are not white. I just knew that there has been talk about painting them. (Not sure I like purple though) http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-1320763/Why-painting-wind-turbines-purple-protect-birds-bats.htm
