  1. the only problem is that for lesser known players to get national recognition, it requires unparalleled team success. if we lose two games or less, then vizza will be considered next year.
  2. anyone know if a local bar is picking up the game?
  3. let's be honest, the people who would let the game being on TV keep them away from fouts probably wouldn't come anyway. i think this is good for the guy who thinks, "man, i know i go/went to NT but i really want to watch the UT game". hopefully, they flip to the NT game and see the direction of the program and jump on board (hopefully financially).
  4. if it's being televised, surely someone in denton will show the game.
  5. yeah, i think this is the guy who had a family tragedy. that would take its toll on one's attempt to place value in schoolwork. i feel bad for the guy as this probably just feels like one more thing that didn't go his way.
  6. looks like my plans for the night just changed.
  7. good story. glad to read this sort of content on the site.
  8. all these complaints about practice are getting old. the reason you guys want to go to practice is because you love to support the program but all it takes is one miscommunication and all heck breaks loose. it goes back to the "what's in it for me?" attitude of other fans that we complain about. "i want to be at practice, so they should let me go to practice." i don't know about you, but i'd rather them kick people out if it's distracting to the team in any way. i'm much more interested in seeing a quality product in September than watching them prepare now. i'm jonesing for football just like the next guy, but let the anticipation build. i understand that the communicaion is the real concern but why not call your buddy and vent to him, tell your wife how frustrated you are, spit on your mini helmet when you get home, or email someone in the AD to voice your concern? we all want to see the program advance, so tell me where posting a thread titled "is dodge doing more damage than good" helps accomplish that. there is a greater good.
  9. good interview. i kept waiting for the questian "do you like your gig?..."
  10. i support this topic. it's not a result of boredom, it's enthusiasm that's responsible here. keep it up!
  11. after attending the cookout and processing what took place, the best part of the evening for me was hearing coach dodge cycle through player after player giving their full name, position, and where they're from. i felt that the only reason he stopped was because he didn't want to go through the awkwardness of introducing riley in the same manner. i feel that the players feel respected and appreciated by our head coach which will only lead to greater program success both on and off the field.
  12. i've said it before and i'll say it again. i will not begin a college football season without attending the kickoff cookout. count me in.
  13. don't you think if they were going to make an announcement they would've advertised that way. attendance would boom if there was a stadium announcement. how many people went to the cookout last year for the unis?
  14. can't get enough of that since i had to miss the live action due to a wedding.
  15. for the record, my first game as a student was the baylor game in '03 and i haven't developed a hatred for any team in the sunbelt. the reason? i think it's because you develop a hatred for a team when you know a lot about them as well. it's hard to get to know the other sunbelt teams enough to hate them. i hate the spurs because mavs fans know them well. i hate the angels because, well, texiera is there now.
  16. i guess we can assume it means the final two minutes of each half
  17. i too was glad to see RV do this interview. He doesn't have to make himself available, but i've always been able to talk to him when i see him.
  18. how lame is it that all it takes to get me fired up is that picture of dodge and co.? can't wait for saturday
  19. i would think some sort of "rock the vote" campaign would be appropriate given the election year and a student fee vote on the horizon but we may prefer low voter turn out in this case.
