  1. OR, we just opened a transfer portal pipeline in Austin. Can't hurt to have a guy there who might guide a player who's looking to get playing time to NT and for Morris to have a trusted contact to vouch for work ethic, etc.
  2. The depth of talent and composure ion this squad really shows the effect of sustained success and a recruiting process that is fine-tuned on the evaluation front.
  3. Maybe we on this board let those in the program make those decisions and we just continue to support our players, coaches, and support staff. Just my perspective. Feel free to have your own.
  4. NET Rankings came out today North Texas - #104 Boise St - #126 Would be a Quad 2 win as things stand today. https://www.ncaa.com/rankings/basketball-men/d1/ncaa-mens-basketball-net-rankings
  5. What a journey! Even more reason to enjoy rooting for Moulaye
  6. Thank you, JD. Glad to have someone willing to be the voice of us fans who are trying to be patient, understanding, and supportive during this transition year.
  7. Since Ron Mastry's Invitaaaation was to the 2003 New Orleans Bowl vs Memphis, now's as good a time as ever to revisit this gold...
  8. If podcasts are your thing, these guys are the most well-informed that I've come across. Here's their episode with the AAC preview...
  9. I'm with you. Anxious to see if there Hodge's offense feeds the post less frequently or at least creates movement elsewhere to open opportunities to pass out of it. With Abou or McCasland, it often felt like once Abou had the ball, everyone else was checked out of the possession.
  10. I've come to really like Bart Torvik's site. Looks like he's updated for this year's projections. https://www.barttorvik.com/trankpre.php?conlimit=Amer&state=All&year=2024&sort= #107 nationally #8 in the AAC. Losing Tylor, Abou, (2 of our top 3 rated players in his system had they stayed in Denton), Kai and McCasland likely make this pre-season projections a real crap shoot.
  11. I'm betting these "neutral" site games are an effort by the de facto home team to game the NET rankings quad system Quadrant 1: Home games vs. RPI teams ranked in the top 30; neutral games vs. 1-50; away games vs. 1-75. Quadrant 2: Home vs. 31-75 teams; neutral vs. 51-100; away vs. 76-135. Quadrant 3: Home vs. 76-160 teams; neutral vs. 101-200; away vs. 136-240. Quadrant 4: Home vs. 161-plus teams; neutral vs. 201-plus; away vs. 241-plus.[8]
  12. "This feels like the biggest home game ever" There have been other games with bigger stakes, more local opponents, etc., but one thing is certain: the DATCU atmosphere will be where we all want it to be when this is the attitude week in week out.
  13. Never bad to have more size and if anyone's gonna have the contacts necessary for vetting and evaluating juco players, it's this staff. Excited to have Mr. Dixon on board
  14. Nice opportunity for a Quad 1 win (Boise finished #34 in the NET last year, well within the top 75 needed for a road qin to qualify as Quad 1)
  15. What a fun personality...perfect for this bit
  16. Can't say I was otherwise familiar with him, but was intrigued to stumble into this interview on The Ringer's One Shining Podcast CBB show. Pierce Simpson, Sr. Editorial Producer and On-Camera Host for Complex, apparently attended UNT from 2010 - 2014 and considered walking on after making a name for himself at the rec. Interview begins around the 25 min mark and does pour some praise on the NT success of late... 17. Wins against FAU and Memphis will be a nice boost for our NET ranking
  18. Excited for him and this stage of his post-playing career. Hope to see him among the finalists to lose out to Jordan Davis for Football Scoop's WR Coach of the Year award.
  19. Based on the past 6 months, ZipRecruiter Stadium makes sense
  20. Based on the current recruiting calendar, this is the quite period where coaches can only contact players who are on campus visits Zach Barnett got the quote that sums it up...
  21. Each time I hear him speak, I grow more excited to see him continue the program's momentum
  22. Rather than thinking how we can punish or turn our back on players for finding opportunities elsewhere, I think we should look for ways to celebrate with greater enthusiasm those who demonstrate an enduring commitment to UNT and spend all 4 years here. On senior day, all seniors should be honored but particular recognition given to those who signed here out of high school. Build that into a goal worth achieving and add positive incentive for players to hang around.
