  1. So you don't think he deserved the death penalty, or you think he should have spent more time in jail before getting it?
  2. Hey, I clicked again and still got it, so maybe it's my browser or something.
  3. Thanks a lot, we'll keep that in mind if we want to PAY to POST. Any way you could mention you're trying to drum up sales for Rivals.com when you post? Appreciate it, dingleberry.
  4. You beat me to the punch, Rick. I doubt our offense is getting worse, so let's assume (and hope) that it is a sign of a better D. Sometimes you can't tell, but since we have so much of the O returning, it's not likely that they're going backwards. Even a moderate increase in D should lead us to a lot more wins, considering how good our offense has become.
  5. I think about a year ago somebody mentioned it but for anyone who didn't/doesn't know... With a subscription to ESPN the Magazine, you get free Insider access on espn.com. I got the mag for like $15 a year or so from Ed McMahon It's kind of a two-for-one considering the online access (plus you get special access with "other Disney companies' websites", though I have no idea what that entails), so it's a pretty good deal...better than paying just for the Insider.
  6. http://myespn.go.com/blogs/others/0-0-192/...CS-mailbag.html Just a tidbit at the bottom about us.
  7. http://sports.espn.go.com/oly/summer08/col...&id=3538145 After getting to see the footage in slow motion, even the Serbs accepted the outcome.
  8. Eh...keep in mind that most of the main principles of law, etc. are also attached to many religions. There's always going to be a little bit of a crossover when it comes to right and wrong. I don't think you could ever keep religion completely out of politics for that reason-even if the politician isn't religious, lots of religions still go against murder, theft, etc. But if somebody shows up trying to base all of their policy ideas on Leviticus, I'm definitely not voting for them!
  9. That's pretty cool, though. He dropped all his appeals and volunteered fo lethal injection. Obviously just wanted to face what was coming. At least his actions matched his words as far as being accountable.
  10. It is interesting. And ridiculous. He was pointing out passages that would not fit in with American "values", and then the narrator decided to talk about completely different pasages. The point seemed to be that we shouldn't be taking every little thing that fit with Levitican law and the like and turning it into policy...and they want to twist it into making it seem like he's against the Ten Commandments.
  11. It's the year you go from "Sam who?" to "oh, that badass UNT guy." 42% right now.
  12. Just like I'd hoped last year, but more realistic for this year, I'm saying 5-7 wins also.
  13. Next up: OU's anal herpes, on 60 Minutes. How the hell did the media even find out about this? Wouldn't this be about the biggest thing you'd want to keep quiet?
  14. I was actually thinking about that when this first hit. Again, I tend to favor teams from Texas, but the thought that this could happen kicks more ass than Major Applewhite's cockiness. I hope they underestimate them. That reminds me of Mack Brown's "we're not worried about TCU" remarks from last year...which made me thrilled at the halftime score (and not so much afterwards). And if I recall correctly, wasn't Dickey always against the "money games"? I think that may be the point of the statements as per the point made about his sarcasm.
  15. I think that's correct...though it may have changed since I was involved.
  16. I just caught these, as you posted them while I was still offline. I agree...more would be fun...unless the PD told you to stop or something. Emmitt's always been one of the few who can tell stories (not just the police kind) and not make you want to check your watch while you're listening...I think we all have friends that make us wish we were somewhere else mid-story.
  17. By the way...am I the only one who thinks the U2 "Mission:Impossible" remake should be his official theme song? Every time I hear or see his name, in my head I hear: BaDUMbaDUMdaDUMdaDUMDUMDUM "Mr. Phelps...Mr. Phelps..." BaDUMdaDUMDUMDUM "...your mission, should you choose to accept it..." (And yes, I know it was only Adam and Larry that did the song, but I didn't know how many people knew who they are.)
  18. So is their new mascot "Russell the Love Muscle"? Heheheh..."Welcome to F_U, home of Russell the Love Muscle."
  19. Best ever: I never noticed the elevated pinky before. Maybe it should be "Proper" Joe Greene! Worst ever: Boobies!
  20. And when I was involved in campus stuff, the athletes really semed to like him...not that he needs to be liked by them in his position, but I think it's kind of a testament of character.
