My own philosophy. Never drink the Koolaid, wait and see results so you can avoid swinging from one end of the spectrum to the other. This could be a turning point or we could crash out the rest of the season, time will tell. We are a middling team at the point, so until they show us something different on the field that's what we are.

The only valid critique we can make on recruiting is he had ample time to hit the transfer portal in the spring window and didn't. I'm hoping he goes for some big transfers this offseason.

What about the 5 game run to become bowl eligible and beating ranking UTSA?

350 Div 1 teams and we can't get a any of them to come play at UNT? I know I sound like a broken record on here, but we need to hold whoever is responsible for scheduling to a higher standard.

I'm sure it is. However we can't be so unique that other schools refuse to play us, and every other team I looked at had their schedule out weeks if not months ahead of ours.

Agree with what's been said here. The effort put in by the team in the 2nd half, as well as the mental fortitude to not give up was good to see. Lot's of improvement needed, but a good showing on national TV.

If the trend holds through the next 4 games I'd have a little more faith in the numbers. If we are being honest the first half of the schedule has been the easier half. Do the same to Tulane, Memphis, UTSA, SMU, and we'll be looking pretty good.

Disappointing, do those teams count for NET? What's worse is it took us until we were 8 days away from opening the season to get it done.

It would be interesting to see, although I'd think the data would be skewed to today because the athletic ability has gotten better over the years.

Good question. I'm not sure if there is an official rule, but I would think it would be beneficial to your quarterback to have contrasting colors.

I'm curious as to why there is no internal candidates in place that have a chance to move up. Is there no assistant directors or others that could have taken over?

I thought I was the only one who thought this since no one else seems to be mentioning it. Playing the song that's supposed to intimidate and pressure their team on 3rd down when they get 1st down, playing well after the visiting team snaps, just a general laziness and unorganized atmosphere. It's like they've never been to a football game and don't know the common things you're supposed to do and when. Is it just me or are others feeling the same?

If there is anything to talk about it is the tackling for extra yards. Lots of time first and even second contact doesn't end the play, and they get a bunch of extra yards. Also the offensive line is letting way too many unblocked rushers in. It may sound like nitpicking, but there is always room for improvement, even with a good showing.

Really good showing by the team. I know Temple is down right now, but this is a great win vs. a conference opponent. Let's hope this is the start of a season turn around because the real meat of the schedule is coming up.

Is the Temple band there?

If we do what Tulane did multiple times in that timeframe it's not out of realm of possibility. No one was talking about Tulane before they beat USC, now every realignment conversation has them as candidate.

Good teams no doubt, I'd still like to play one more "power" team or a solid team like VCU/New Mexico/etc. I want to boost our net as much as possible so we don't have a repeat like last year.

You don't see how they could have thought wearing black during an eclipse was an idea they came across? They are also fully wearing black unlike previous times when they had white pants. Edit: Just checked the post on twitter and when someone mentioned they matched the eclipse the Mean Green Sports account responded with an eclipse emoji.

What schools make you think that? When I look at Memphis' schedule that's a real OOC gauntlet. Our toughest opponent is Miss. State who finished 9th in the SEC last year.

I think what people are saying is we likely aren't able to find 3 more? At least that's what it seems like from the responses Mosley gave posters here. He said they were working on 2 series and 1 ended up being UTA, so his words make it seem like it was 2 total more games for 11 non-conference.
