  1. Dispatch: 911, what is your emergency ?? Caller: Oh my gawwwwd, pleeze hurry !! I just got here, he's lifeless....he's gonnnne, he's gonnne..... Dispatch: Who are you sir and who is the victim ?? Caller: I am Dr. Nowit Hall Fann, I'm at the stadium...he's on the turf, covered in his own puke...he's not moving...his eyes are rolled back and kinda crossed, his tongue is swollen and sticking out, snot is running out of his nose...and he just farted !!!! And my little buddy here is my own little pet football team. Oh please hurry, he's not breathing.. Dispatch: This sounds like an overdose...look around for meds, bottles, anything for a clue ! Caller: Oh lawdy, say it aint sooooo, he didnt !!. Here's an empty bottle of "oxy-moron-coton"....oh wait, an empty box of Exlaxidasicalidocane...and a whole lot of beer cans.....Whaada I do, whadda I do ??? Dispatch: Well, you're a doctor, haven't you seen these signs before.....like maybe last year, or the year before ??? Cant you diagnose this for yourself ?? Caller: I am a proud and esteemed member of the "Bored of Rejects"..I get to sit in a very special seat at every gave and event...I get free stuff. I am surround by thousands that also love my little pet and love to watch him do his tricks. My specialty is diagnosing that there IS a problem...not actually fixing one.....oh gawwwwd, please quit dragging this out, he's dying. Dispatch: It appears he has indavertently mixed the 2 meds together. Exlaxidasicalidocane dulls his pain and helps him not give a damn or give a damn what YOU think. The oxy-moron-coton is also a pain suppressor but will manifest itself with crazy behaviors like dropped TD passes, missed snap counts, blocks in the back, blocked punts and the disasterous closed-eyed head-down old-lady arm tackles. The beer is what caused the fart. Just leave him alone....he will awaken just fine...maybe stronger than ever. Right now he feels kinda like and adult that is stuck in puberty.... just cant seem to grow out of his growing pains. Caller: So this will all go away ??? Dispatch: Yes, ..but actually you and all your friends suffer the effects...a mass halucination of continuous desasters without actually taking the meds yourself. My suggestion...is that you start taking the meds too !!!!! You cant help him sir...you have to save yourself. But lay off the beer...it'l make you fart !!
  2. I also sit in section C. I sit amoung a hornets' nest of the disgruntled. By simply paying attention, over time, I cant just about tell you who are some of the parents, grand parents, ex-players (from anywhere), coaches wives, etc....because they are the ones that keep their damn mouths shut !!! Yelling out insults directly at a player, coach, etc in front of their families is just classless...oh yeah, I know I know, you have a right to be classless !!
  3. 1st off, I'll tell you all that I was never blessed with the speed to be a D-back, not even a very very bad one. But I do have some questions about coverage technique. Like most folks, I only turn to see the dbacks because I'm following the flight of the ball...At that point it's too late to get the whole picture. This year our guys seem to be right in the mix.........immediate tackles after catches, knockdowns, even pickoffs because we seem to be faster now at the position. I realize coverage mistakes occur..BUT ! if a receiver gets by, why do our D-backs never look around/back for the ball ????? It seems to me that is a receiver is sprinting all out and is ALREADY 25+ yds downfield, and is still in an all out sprint...that at least HE thinks he may get the ball...OR !!! it's already on the way and almost there. If a ball was underthrown....we wouldnt know it anyway because we dont look !! Some of these catches are made right over our shoulders. A quick pass is different... I get that. I'm talking about the long "hang in the air for 2 days" ball. Why does this continue to happen like we arent even in the room ???? Somebody teach me something here.
  4. As a not so casual observer, I'm very disappointed for Nathan that after all his work and dedication and surely some disappointments along the way...that he has to go thru THIS setback. He is one cool customer back in the pocket, always shows class and control. That being said, I'm very relieved that we have a guy like Thompson to step in and keep things moving. We have not always had that "luxury" as I recall; there was always alot of doubt and fear concerning the backups. Right now we have 2 really great go-to guys who seem to be able to respond at the drop of a hat and perform at a high level immediately. This part doesnt scare me. NOW, that being said....we will surely see Riley back at QB more often. Will we get to use his great abilities to keep things crazy and exciting and drive defenses insane ???? Or will he be have to take the snap and step up 2 paces and put his helmet where the center's butt used to be ??? This is what scares me.
  5. I've been up reading all all your posts....quite frankly I agree with most of them. We made a few coverage mistakes..it cost us. We made some crappy/non tackles and it cost us. The biggest was obviously the endzone "taunting" call. That penalty has happened more than once to us....WHY !!! Tune was cool as a cucumber....he has good speed once he decides to move his feet..that's the problem as I see it..he may be waiting too long to "panic" and he loses that initial getaway step. Once he gets away, he seems to make decent decisions.(against Clemson). Offensive line was too slow at first but made great adjustments and had a great game in my opinion with the run blocking and pass blocking. Sure Tune got sacked...but the line can NOT hold out that size and speed forever, and Tune actually stepped into the the rush due to his own delays at times. I'M SO PROUD OF OUR OFFENSIVE LINE. Defense was good for a first game...caused more of 3 and outs than I expected....and secondary coverages caused Parker probs. Yes they have 2 good backs that had some good gains. But big plays will happen, theirs turned into points. Their regular stuff..did not ! We did a good job with that overall. We can all nitpick the hell out of this team for the next 11 weeks. But here's the thaaaaang, For about 50 minutes of this game, our team's performance told the Clemson crowd to "Sit Down and Shut UP" in their own house. What a feeling, huh...when has silence been so golden ???? For once, this was not our typical opener bodybag game...WE WERE NOT MANHANDLED !!!
  6. I agree this was a crappy "lets help the home team when we get the chance" kind of call. Although it may have been by the book "Legal", it was a reeeeeal reach. Had it NOT been called, I dont think there was one Clemson fan out of 75000 that would have noticed or cared. I would like to call this ref out and see if he has any integrity concerning this matter. NOW that he has established HIS standard for this infraction....will he continue to call it every chance he can 'Legally" use it !!! I dont think so !!!!
  7. I cant belive I'm actually reading this *%$@# (stuff) !
  8. I'll throw it out there that whenever Thompson would take over, there seemed to be an immediate pickup in the "pep" with regards to the rest of the offense on the field. NOT a knock against Tune, but this seemed evident as the 2 qb's alternated. Throwing accuracy aside, Thompson also seemed to scan the field better when he was on the move whether by choice or forced out of the pocket. Also, seemed to make good decisions picking the receivers.
  9. Whatever song is chosen......I just hope it's turned up all the way and plays non-stop as loud as possible and We cant talk or hear a damn thang otherwise except for that song.....In fact, I hope it's so loud we cant even order food at the concession stand....and I hope it never changes as is the same damn song over and over !!!!!! Oh wait, we already have that going on......sorry.
  10. If you dont like Saban and think he's classless because he went for a td late in the game...then you are way off the mark. He may be classless...I dont know. But it has nothing to do with that call. If Bama chooses to kick a FG and Texas runs back the next kickoff for a TD........there'd be hell to pay. Because You and I both know texas would try the onside kick again. If THAT was also successful, it is entirely conceivable Texas could pull it out and win in final seconds...and we also know Texas has the character and the LUCK (nebraska game) to get it done. So "Hell to the NO" on that !!! Being undefeated and a nat'l championship just a few yards away....Saban would have been linched by his own players to let that happen.
  11. Because it's really named the: "We cant wait to see Colt McCoy so we can slobber and drool all over him Bowl"
  12. I "caught" that too............anybody with a good seeing-eye dog saw it too. But the goofy announcers dont need to be blind too !!!!
  13. Is Mike Leach letting his "inner Pirate" come out ??????
  14. I long for the day that our $2000.00 per week coach beats the $96,000.00 per week coach !!
  15. ok, where is Einstein guy now that we need him.......this idea of "Theoretical Relevance". Splain this at me.
  16. Now that's just dang funny !!!!! Winning is the best "football Viagra" I know of.
  17. I hear ya.........If we had the time to give everybody their fair chance...............RV should plant their asses in the job based on the level of "best ideas". The expert with the most ideas gets to be head coach 1st........all the way down to "no ideas" and he can be Diet Coke Boy.
  18. That happens to coaches at times...I realize that. But the players had the option to leave, sit out elsewhere for a year and be on contending teams. I'm talking about him asking the players to stay with him and not defect.(at Bama)...when they did stay...HE left. This is a matter of record, and was talked about by many coaches at the time and still comes up occasionally. THEIR (fomer Bama coaches and coaches from other schools) opinion about that matter has NOT changed after all this time. Mine neither ! I had a family member on the Bama staff...I trust his "inside" info more than I would from anyone on this board. You can bet Stallings would not have done that things that way either. I have no opinion about Saban. But it's a sad day at UNT when we would compromise principles for a little bit of winning. And the first to suffer wont be our school, or the fans...it will be the players.
  19. Yeah, we need to FORGET about Francione....he has a serious integrity problem !!! Ask A&M and Bama.
  20. Can anybody tackle ???? wait, let me try again...CAN ANYBODY TACKLE !!!!!...what is this head ducking-eye closing style we got going on ????? If we actually latch on, then we pull our feet off the ground and just ride................I'd like to put in for a good ass whippin: and I'd like for it to go in our favor just once !!!
  21. Now would be a good time to leave....I hope you didnt spend your hard earned money in Arkansas...gas,food, motel room, etc. Get out before the traffic gets bad !!
  22. Is there any hope of tv coverage or espn360 this week ????
  23. I like this formation...or lack of one. We always seem to get men deeper and to the ball. The receiving team cant zero in as soon or as directly for a direct block..........OUR problem with it, is that when we get to the return man, we close our eyes, duck our heads, dive, and stick an arm out and help turn him a different direction to help him get loose. Then, our kicker tries to back into him and force him out of bounds (without actually touching him) while he's running down the sidleline waving and laughing at us !!!! It aint the formation that sucks...it's the tackling.
