  1. I blame that dirty little assassin Lee Harvey Jackson, and his accomplice, Benedict Smith!
  2. The 2'11" girl would thrill me...I'd go nuts over her! On the other hand, the 8'0" girl would be bad for me...I'm afraid I would be sticking my nose into her business all the time.
  3. NOT worth a $hip. Character problems...bigtime. Tell me he got drunk and punched some guy in a rit of felous jage...not a problem. Smacks chicks around? Forget him.
  4. http://www.kusi.com/home/78477082.html?video=pop&t=a Here is another great explanation of the Global Warming myth.
  5. You earn a plus 1...and more. I couldn't agree more and I hope there are similar signs present.
  6. I thought I saw references to the spring practice schedule and spring game dates a while back but can't find that info now. Does anyone know if the dates have been announced? If so, please enlighten us.
  7. THIRTY-F'N-EIGHT???? I have underwear and socks older than that!! Have a great day today, and I hope we're still sitting in adjacent seats on gameday and cheering for the Mean Green when you are 100!
  8. IMO, you have to give TD and SS grades of "I". Best / Worst coaches are best viewed in historical hindsight after their "body of work" has been compiled. Again, just my Shiner-influenced opinion.
  9. has not set their status

  10. Underrated! Yes, he will make that vow on Harry's podcast at the beginning of the season. About Thanksgiving week, though, he will release a book with the hypothesis "If I Did It".
  11. My rope just doesn't have any more slack in it...bowl eligible or the toilet bowl in 2010. Or, as Johnny Cochran might put it, " At 7 and 5, you will survive. To 6 you git, it ain't worth $hit!".
  12. Very, very tough because we have had many great guys. There were a few guys who could take over a game. No disrespect to ANY of them but the first one who always comes to mind is Booger Kennedy. He was a real game-changer.
  13. SilverEagle presents a valid question. I chose not to touch it when I posted previously. If the prospect confronted me directly, I would tell him that my personal situation should be low on his priority list. I would tell him that I was committed to seeing that he maximized his athletic potential and his personal growth and maturation while I was in charge. If there ever came a time when I wasn't in charge, there would be someone as dedicated in my place to mentor his development.
  14. SON! Have I got a deal for you! 1. Top shelf education (what Mom and Dad want to know). 2. Facilities that compare favorably with anyone's. 3. Opportunity to get on the field and compete earlier than at some of your options. 4. A style of play that suits your abilities and gives you a stage on which to shine (offensive prospect). 5. A proven defensive coordinator that built a top ten defense at UNT earlier in this decade and is back to do it again, with YOUR contribution (defensive prospect). 6. Did I mention the women?
  15. I do not ever want to see another FCS opponent on our schedule. Dumbing down sucks and the real possibility that one of them would hand us our asses (you think we get mocked NOW) would kill my soul.
  16. In my reasoning, mature players and new/newly eligible players plus coaching continuity will translate into that seven-win expectation. Many of you see just the record in isolation and therefore don't believe there can be that much improvement. I see the washtub full of boneheaded plays, strategic mistakes, ill-timed penalties and assorted f-ups that cost us so dearly this season and I cannot believe that our coaching staff and players will not grow during this offseason and correct some of that crap. Our motto could be "Seven and five if you want to survive!".
  17. This is absolutely the right decision at this time under the existing conditions and constraints IMO. I have consistently voiced this opinion in several threads since this brouhaha erupted. Now is the time for all of us to either fish or cut bait; as for me, I'm going to fish. Playtime is over! In my mind it is 7-5 or better OR heads must roll. Let's get behind the team next season and see what happens. Losing sucks, but no matter how much we try we will never play a game in the past. Let's dig in and demand wins in the future. I don't care what part of the schedule they come from as long as there are seven Ws when the curtain falls on next season.
  18. I enjoyed the YouTube! We should have played that three years back when people were expecting a five-year rebuilding job to be finished in three years. I think we all over-indulged in the Kool-Aid and thought this could be fixed in three years. I'm not defending the man as much as I am the concept...things take longer than they do! We could get into that perpetually-rebuilding "DO-Loop". Just my opinion.
  19. My gut tells me that the pieces are in place and the stars are aligned for next season, and I would like to find out before we blow this thing up and start over.
  20. NOT happy with the record! Just think the man is making progress toward where we all want to be and I wouldn't pull the rug out from under him at this point. Next year is the "no excuses" , hardball year IMO.
  21. Strategically, it doesn't seem logical to me to release TD at this time for many reasons already stated in this thread. A new coach, and with him possibly a new offensive system, would be a pig-in-a-poke. Non-performance next season with "his" players (now seasoned) WOULD be a logical reason. He has earned that chance to perform IMO.
  22. Probably his administrative assistant. That would be common practice for someone in his position in the commercial world. Someone has to direct traffic for him because I suspect he gets more email and phone calls than any one human could possibly handle.
  23. Scroll down after Vito's piece and read the long response from a reader! What HE said!!
  24. I personally do not feel TD has had adequate time to develop his program. I acknowledge that it has been three years. Does anyone remember the crap that went on during the first year? That year was pretty much a throwout in my book. The team overcame that, then had players bail out, continuing the turmoil. You just can't turn a tanker on a dime. In some respects, to an outsider like me, it appears that he has had only one year to get down to business and build this team. I would really hate to see the rug jerked out from under him when it feels like he is about to accomplish what we want. Honor the man's contract, give him another season to finish this rebuilding job, and I think we'll see results. I'm not a TD apologist; in fact, he was not my first choice (you could look it up). When he was hired, I got behind him and I'm still there. We owe the man another season; if it doesn't work out, he will have had adequate opportunity IMO.
