  1. Define "surprise" please...surprise in what way?
  2. Perhaps using the Coronavirus thing as a cover to dump sports and budgets they have been looking to dump for some time just couldn't figure out a reason folks would believe. They now have that reason... Just a thought. And, I believe you will see other universities doing the exact same thing. Note, too, that Vanderbilt just cut the entire Athletic Dept SID budget...transferred it to the university's information office. You really think this wasn't a move Vandy had been wanting to make for some time? Coronavirus giving excellent cover for folks to do a lot of things...public schools, private schools, government agencies, pro sports, corporations, etc.
  3. Nah...I'll keep the one that is there right now for four more years. But, thanks for playing.
  4. Left wingers hate America, oppose the police and love to destroy other people's private property.....gee, we can all play this game. Generalize much????????
  5. Didn't she try to pet that alligator more than once? Not the brightest bulb on the Christmas tree if so. Like the idiots in Yellowstone feeding the bears and trying to take selfies with the elk...then wonder why they are injured..... Sorry for anyone getting hurt or even killed, but...….
  6. what did everyone think of the "Caravan" broadcast?
  7. You are funny...trying to find the boogeyman in every post. I do not oppose or support any percentage of any racial group at UNT. I support UNT. The racial make-up and population will sort itself out. My point is that with the total emphasis on minority student population at UNT, I believe we might just see a decrease in the percentage of Caucasian students that enroll at UNT. Makes perfect sense to me given the emphasis currently. Do you not emphasize that which you wish to happen? Do you not work harder to achieve a goal you set than on other projects? Don’t know why you want to try to find a boogeyman here. But, I hope this helps you.
  8. That was me (not literally) in REC Ball while a grad student at OSU. I was the team coach, but did not want to play...I was and still am terrible at basketball, but got drafted to play as we needed players from time to time due to some team members having to miss a game or two. The team itself did pretty well...I attribute it to my excellent coaching of course...but, in the two years the team existed I scored a grand total of ZERO POINTS...ZERO...even missed my free throws. The team fed me the ball all game long the last game in year two...and I clunked every one. I think it still might be a Stillwater rec league record...you know...it could be tied but never beaten. Ha!
  9. I was there too. And, saw quite a few regular season Chaps games. They were fun!
  10. I've been through the place on foot...interesting, but VERY different today than when first constructed...and getting less and less "free" by the year. Full of trash when I was there...stalls selling "stuff" and people just sitting around doing nothing. If that is what Seattle is aiming for...well, good luck to them. Remember, drugs had a big part to play in the establishment of this "utopia". Pretty much a tourist attraction today. Just my review from my once personal experience walking through the place and chatting with a few "residents". Have to tell you...I was big time disappointed. Expected a "hippie paradise"...nope. Well, maybe it is a "hippie paradise" after all....
  11. But, getting to be fewer and fewer every semester as a percentage of total student population would be my guess starting this coming semester. Wonder if anyone is tracking that sort of thing? Ha!
  12. Neal Smatresk is the VERY best President this University has EVER had. He is incredibly "student centered" and has done much to improve the "student life experience" and he is also incredibly focused on being a "minority serving institution". This Coalition of 1965 folks do not even have the nerve to sign their names to this poorly written and worded document. I would guess that none of them were even alive in 1965. And, if they think for one second that today's UNT is the 1956 UNT they are delusional. I know of no other university president in the nation that has thrown himself squarely in the fire as Neal Smatresk and almost immediately as these events started to unfold. Open discussions with students one on one, town hall meetings with students and faculty and staff, and having staff work up responses and actions that will be taken based on the feedback he has received from students, faculty, staff and, yes, alumni. It will be a very sad day for the present and future UNT should Neal Smatresk either be forced out or decide that he has simply had enough of the crap-ola and leave/retire on his own.
  13. Just did not have a clue what you were trying to say as you did not reference the VA in your original post. Had you done so, I would have known. And, as a Viet Nam era vet refused VA care I am painfully aware of the issues. Appreciate your concern for our Vets!
  14. Huh? Please explain....and what's your take on the swell treatment Viet Nan era veterans got from the nation?
  15. You got the part where your boy scouts, ANTIFA, are lumped in the statement as well, right? Just checking.
  16. Don’t like ‘em. I put them in the same category as your ANTIFA Boy Scouts. They are thugs, ignorant of any reality, usually poorly educated and able to be led like sheep because they rarely think. They do much much more harm to their “cause” than they imagine and need to be ignored and arrested whenever they poke their ignorant heads out of their Neanderthal caves! That clear enough even for you?
  17. So, in your opinion ANTFA are just Boy Scouts out for a good time. Not at all responsible for any violence. Man, talk about head buried firmly in the sand. Perfect example of “there are none so blind as those that will not see.” But, hey, carry on.....
  18. And, yet, we have a UNT English Professor City Councilwoman who is did her best to screw over the cop and the UNT Police. Deb Armintor is a pitiful excuse for a Councilwoman. She seems intent on dividing the city rather than doing her best to unify it. She lied, she knows she lied, and she steadfastly refuses to apologize. Now, it seems, UNT is thinking about providing free bicycle lights for students. Wondering what about 40,000 bicycle lights cost? Anyone out there want to start a donation fund? If lights are offered, UNT must be prepared to provide at least one for every enrolled student that requests one. So, donors need to step up or something is going to be cut from the budget to cover the costs of the lights I would guess. Not official, just one of the things Dr. Smatresk mentioned in his BLM Town Hall meeting for students yesterday.
