Excellent question GreenBat! Where are the recruits, especially after reaching the NCAA's. A five year extension is just crazy. What is RV thinking? If RV signs JJ to a five year deal, it'll be right up there with the boneheaded Slinker extension. RV could be a real problem for us.

If you go to the CUSA board, there's the annual off season football talk about CUSA expansion in the event of a BSc raid. No one is mentioning NT as an addition. One Texas State Univ-San Marcus fan is really trying to sell TSU-SM to the CUSA board. Like he'll be successful at that.

If Riley's room has been orange and white since birth and he bleeds those colors, he may stick with TU. Even if he merely suits up for games each year at Memorial Stadium but never plays, he just may be satisfied. Some kids are like that. However, if he's competitive enough, then he could change his mind.

I didn't see much of a threat in our running game at all. Handing the ball off from the shotgun needs a lot more work. And lastly, without the draw play, life as we know it won't be the same.

I think it's great that Mack Brown can afford to honor those scholarships. You see, he can be generous with and $85,000,000 athletic budget, and still growing!

Watching on the game on MG Sports internet broadcast is not the same as being there in person, but here goes. Pretty much agree on the QB's and receivers. For 15 days to learn a new system, they looked good. The defense looked good as most have described. I especially liked, from the defensive standpoint, that several attempted passes were batted down at the line of scrimmage. That's a really good thing. Gilmore is going to be a factor this year. Coach Dodge has not implemented his whole offensive playbook, probably due to the introduction of his system in only 15 days, and no doubt because of OU spys in attendance, but I would like to see passes out in the flat to our running backs. And of course the screen pass. Also, I'd like to see the QB under center a few times. Or will this be a 100% no-huddle spread? Not complaining, just asking. All in all it looked like a very productive game. Very well organized on the sidelines.
