  1. Does anyone know if some type of flyover is planned?
  2. And when is his highness "Obama" going to make a decision on Afghanistan? He has two options: 1. Send another 40,000 troops like is field commanders say is needed or 2. Don't send more troops and pull the troops that are over there out before they are wiped out. Why do politicians try to run wars?
  3. Just heard over the weekend that Weis is finishing up his 4th year of a 10 year contract. Didn't Weis have a 10 year contract at $4 mil. a year? Whoa! A $24 mil buyout!
  4. Been checking the obituaries regularly in your neck of the woods, looking for your name; glad to hear you're still with us Plummer. Regarding your post(the highlighted part), that's what happens when your new head coach has to wait for the high school playoffs to end. Forget that his son was in the playoffs, Dodge should have been out recruiting the minute the ink dried on his new contract. Playoffs were more important than getting players for his new gig at North Texas. And if RV approved this, I'd say it was a major screwup.
  5. With all due respect, we've been hearing the "playing freshman and sophmore" excuse since we closed out the 2007 season. Many have left the program now.
  6. Stephens ran off players from the previous regime, including a academic all-american, and some of her own recuit(s) were no shows. Yes, we are only two games into the season, but some of us just feel a crap season coming on. Where do we get these people? I was a Capps fan. A proven coach.
  7. I'll quote a good friend of mine, "if Dodge is back, 5 wins does not cut it. That would be 4 straight losing seasons for him. We need to stop with the improvement over "his" previous year/team talk. He was hired to improve over the performance of the previous coach and that is what his evaluation should be based upon. "
  8. All I know is when I found the video stream a large group of FIU dancers/cheerleaders were gyrating in the end zone for the camera. God bless Florida and the beautiful women they produce.
  9. Spot on. Donna Capps was a missed opportunity for UNT. Instead, we hire all of the OJT trainees.
  10. Texas A & M-Corpus Christi knocked off Oregon State 67-43 last night before 8,541 Beaver fans. Last year OSU was at sub-.500 team at 13-16.
  11. Same crap happened in Viet Nam- politicians running the war. BHO can't make a decision unless it's for handouts or political favors in Chicago. Let me make the decision for him. Either send as many troops as your field commanders feel is needed to win the war, or simply bring the troops over there home. Pack it in and let the (radical Islamists) chips fall where they may. But God help us.
  12. I agree with this idea of a "culture of winning". But on the flip side, what about the culture of losing? Think about the Rutgers and Temples of the world. Look up and see what Rutgers did over the past decades, prior to the turnaround by their current coach. And Temple? The were so bad, the Big East kicked them out of the conference. I'm sure there are other examples. Point is, the culture of losing can be turned around with the right desire (by the university), the right coach, and the right staff.
  13. Is Riley the spokesperson now? Seems like he has something to say in every article now.
  14. Amen! I miss the 21%+ interest rates we had during the Carter years.
  15. The Athletic Department should have ads in the DRC and other area newspapers offering discounted tickets for the Army game just to fill the stands. Five pack bleacher tickets for $20 bucks?
  16. Funny you should mention promotions coming out of our AD.... For the past two home games, Western Ky and ULM, I have received the Mean Green Club flyers promoting the deck activities for each game.....on MONDAY after the game day weekend! That's right! The games have been played and here comes the Monday flyer promotion. Of course, anyone in the Mean Green Club knows the deck is open prior to kickoff, and food and beverages are available to members. But can't they send these flyers out a little sooner? Maybe I'm just picky.... just sayin'.
  17. Thanks to all who have served, in battle and on the home front.
  18. 3rd or 4th biggest school with the cheapest alumni.
  19. Nah. Micah's a player, a contributor who doesn't mind laying the leather. I think moving him to the LB position would help the defense emmensely. TE or H back would be a waste in Dodge's offense. Other than blocking, when was the last time we threw to a tight end? We need defensive players.
  20. Salaries See what ULM pays Charlie Weatherby.
  21. Why do you think the board went down after the FAU and Troy losses? El Guapo cannot be pleased with this season. All should hide the women and children.
  22. Catching up on some of these threads, this RB topic hit home with me. With the way Dunbar is gobbling up yardage (prior to the ULL game), and our old #1 RB Cam finally receiving some playing time, why not utilize someone like Micah Mosley at another needed position? Think about it, Mosley is a "tough as nails" kid that will do anything for the team. He's a player that likes to hit, as evidenced by his great special teams play. Why not move Micah to linebacker? He's got the size, the desire, and the speed to be a real force the remainder of the year and next year. Plus, I hate to see him being underutilized. Micah needs to be on the field more, if not at running back, then linebacker. Good idea? Bad idea? Give me some feedback people! This team needs playmakers on the field!
  23. Maybe they want to run the spread, same as UNT, and come after Dodge. Then what?
  24. Damn! There's goes our chance for a win next year.
