  1. Very nice. And like the looks of the website too.
  2. Strip down the military- Less dependence on foreign oil (no U.S. drilling), rely on air power and corn squeezings. Brilliant!
  3. "Of your three nonconference games, two must be played against fellow Gordon Gekko Subdivision opponents. Only one game can be played against an opponent from outside the top 40." Fine. Each of those games "outside of the top 40" will cost $10,000,000+. The 80 teams in the Tom Joad Subdivision will increase the price tags for these games annually as they see fit. This idiot, Pat Forde, will probably cause the AOL email server crash.
  4. I agree a billboard or two is needed, touting UNT Football. The problem is you won't get one for $500 a month. I put together a single billboard campaign, located on a decent secondary artery (state hwy) that has good visibilty and decent traffic count. $900 a month. A similar billboard on Interstate 10 from Louisiana into Texas would easily cost $1200 to $1500 a month. My guess for a board on I35 into Denton would cost $3000 plus per month. The newer electronic billboards probably fetch four times that amount. One of you marketing gurus can confirm that price range. The thing we do is use manufacturer's that we represent to put their logo on the board and co-op 100% of the cost with a one year committment.
  5. Did they forget North Texas at Alabama?
  6. Let me get this straight, what you're proposing is to hit as many NT information outlets as possible, regardless of age group. New communication for the younger age group, mail, email, etc. for the other "older" alums. That's a novel idea. Maybe the athletic department will take notice.
  7. Break will no doubt be expensive, but it's the cost of labor that runs the price up. Lots of square feet to brick.
  8. NT80, not all university projects take time and red tape. I think Lamar Univ approved their student fee less than a year ago and now they are starting their $26 million+ stadium improvements and expansion. New athletic center, new field turf, scoreboard, and newer seating. Plus new soccer fields. Granted, a completely new stadium is much more of an undertaking for UNT. We can keep up with their progress through their WEBCAM. I'm just saying........
  9. Really? Don't let a little research keep you from responding. Fatah "Today Fatah defines as its principal goal the achievement of the "complete liberation of Palestine, and eradication of Zionist economic, political, military, and cultural existence." According to Fatah, this objective is not to be accomplished by peaceful means; nor does it allow for Israel's continued existence: "Armed public revolution is the inevitable method to liberating Palestine." Least we forget, Fatah is a terrorist group founded by that champion of peace Yasser Arafat in early 1960s, "dedicated to annihilating Israel". And how much of our aid will actually end up in the hands that it is intended for? My guess is, not much, if any.
  10. Excellent news for businesses trying to hang on. Wasn't unemployment less than 5% last year at this time? 4.6%, 4.8%??? One of you Obama economists help me out here. IT's ALL GOOD IN OBAMALAND!
  11. BEST ANALYSIS OF THE AMA! The American Medical Association has weighed in on the new health care reform bill. The Allergists voted to scratch it, but the Dermatologists advised not to make any rash moves. The Gastroenterologists had sort of a gut feeling about it, but the Neurologists thought the Administration had a lot of nerve. The Obstetricians felt they were all laboring under a misconception. Ophthalmologists considered the idea shortsighted. Pathologists yelled, "Over my dead body!" while the Pediatricians said, 'Oh, Grow up!' The Psychiatrists thought the whole idea was madness, while the Radiologists could see right through it. Surgeons decided to wash their hands of the whole thing. The Internists thought it was a bitter pill to swallow, and the Plastic Surgeons said, "This puts a whole new face on the matter." The Podiatrists thought it was a step forward, but the Urologists were pissed off at the whole idea. The Anesthesiologists thought the whole idea was a gas, and the Cardiologists didn't have the heart to say no. In the end, the Proctologists won out, leaving the entire decision up to the assholes in Washington. Even the Libs have to laugh at this one!
  12. "H.R.1388 was passed yesterday(recently), behind our backs. Whether you are an Obama fan, or not, EVERYONE IN THE U. S. needs to know. Something happened... H.R. 1388 was passed yesterday, behind our backs. You may want to read about it. It wasn't mentioned on the news, just went by on the ticker tape at the bottom of the CNN screen. Obama funds $20M in tax payer dollars to immigrate Hamas Refugees to the USA. This is the news that didn't make the headlines. By executive order, President Barack Obama has ordered the expenditure of $20.3 million in "migration assistance" to the Palestinian refugees and "conflict victims" in Gaza. The "presidential determination", which allows hundreds of thousands of Palestinians with ties to Hamas to resettle in the United States, was signed on January 27 and appeared in the Federal Register on February 4. Few on Capitol Hill, or in the media, took note that the order provides a free ticket complete with housing and food allowances to individuals who have displayed their overwhelming support to the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) in the parliamentary election of January 2006. Let's review...itemized list of some of Barack Obama's most recent actions since his inauguration: His first call to any head of state, as president, was to Mahmoud Abbas, leader of Fatah party in the Palestinian territory. His first one-on-one television interview with any news organization was with Al Arabia television. His first executive order was to fund/facilitate abortion(s) not just here within the U. S. , but within the world, using U. S. tax payer funds. He ordered Guantanamo Bay closed and all military trials of detainees halted. He ordered overseas CIA interrogation centers closed. He withdrew all charges against the masterminds behind the USS Cole and the "terror attack" on 9/11. Now we learn that he is allowing hundreds of thousands of Palestinian refuges to move to, and live in, the US at American taxpayer expense. These important, and insightful, issues are being "lost" in the blinding bail-outs and "stimulation" packages. Doubtful? To verify this for your self: www.thefederalregister.com/d.p/2009-02-04-E9-2488 PLEASE PASS THIS ON... AMERICA NEEDS TO KNOW WE are losing this country at a rapid pace. In the end it will be OUR fault."
  13. DFD? Putting out a fire at Fouts? What were they thinking?
  14. We all know AlGore has taken over the science community in the country, and I dare say worldwide. When you invent the interent, what's a little science?
  15. .........at a High School, over $64K will be used for red oak lockers! There's a facilities war going on with the state high schools now. We are being passed by again!!!!!!!! PNGHS
  16. Glad this thread came up because I found his Dad. Ron's Dad?
  17. Wonder how far this will go? My real beef is how the money is split- you know, 90% to the BCS and only 10% to the non-BCS. In Sicilian, the non-BCS gets "cotzi", meaning sh!t. BCS Hearings
  18. You're probably right. I hear Lamar is getting back into the football business. Bet ole Wright Waters is all over the folks in Beaumont.
  19. I'm not a Perry fan, but him signing the bill that will get us a stadium is enough to get my vote.
  20. Son, I am not a war monger out to kill innocent people. I spent 14 months in Viet Nam and have seen what happens when Washington runs a war. And yes, that is what I am implying. Is this war different than Viet Nam? You spot the bad guys (Cong), yet you can't fire artillery rounds because the the locals say it's too loud. Yes, that is a true "eye witness" account on several fire missions. You're correct. Not everyone in the middle east wants to kill Americans. But all it takes is a few bad boys with the right weaponry, as in dirty nukes, and here we go. Do you feel safe with North Korea blatantly telling the world they want to destroy the U.S.? I am just frustrated that this country has done so much for so many people and countries. Sure, we haven't been perfect. But go find a better country to live in. Unless the "Big O" ruins it for everyone.
