I'll be coming down 183 from Dallas. I will probably get there at least an hour and a half early so I can call and let everyone know where to meet up. I'm gonna try to get Zeke to come with me.

By the way, a few "facts" reported on ponyfans. 1)Todd Dodge had better athletes at Carroll and coming to NT will give him only a "slight" upgrade at running back. Man, that must really make 24-6 sting. 2)NT takes the players who are partial qualifiers and aren't very smart. 3)Todd Dodge will fail as a coach at NT...but will then get a coordinators job at a bigger school.

No it's not true. This is just the "truth" that those who haven't stepped foot on our campus (some of them alumni) in years believe. It's also a way to continue pretending that NT is the step-child in DFW when everyone (especially the ponies and frogs) knows what we are capable of if we'd just band together and get motivated.

MTSU has whined, moaned and complained every year that we have gone to New Orleans that they were A)The better team in 01, B)Just as good and had a rabid fan base in 02 and 03 or C)Unlucky when we beat them in 04 and 05. It's time for our conference's "sexy" team to step up and prove they care about their MUTS. Otherwise quit your bitchin.

I know it might be obscure and people might not get it but how about a shirt with a simple "North Texas" on the front and "Dodge Ball schedule:" on the back with the football schedule listed below it. Would people get it if you accentuated the words 'Dodge Ball'?

They can call us NTSU, NTSTC, NT, UNT or NCTC for all I care...until we go to Ford Field next season and they get their rematch they still have to call us Daddy.

I enjoy tailgating so much for football that I'm willing to do it for basketball too. If at least 5 or 6 more people will show up I'll pull out the ol' Ez-up tent and the grill and we'll tailgate for basketball. Any takers? We'd have to get started around 11:30 or noon.

I believe somebody made mention of Vince Young's supporting cast. Let's not pretend for a second that David Carr has a supporting cast either. He wasn't the most sacked QB in the NFL because his offensive line gave him all kinds of time to throw. The Texans screwed up in not taking Vince Young or Reggie Bush, no doubt. On both counts it was because these two players are adept and making people miss. Let's not pretend that Young is anything more than a running back who takes all of the snaps...and a running back who gets to wait until his wideouts take half the defense downfield before he decides to run.

I heard from a reliable source that the Saints were going to come out against the Cowboys in their black tops and gold pants originally. Seems Sean Payton paid for the black pants out of his own pocket because "the players had always wanted to wear all black" and it was his gift to them. True story.

Oh believe me Rick those guys are all there. At North Texas we do stealth recruiting, at Carroll they go one step further and do stealth rosters.

They don't take Vince Young and he beats them today. And makes running through their defense look easy. They don't take Reggie Bush either. All he's done is make the Cowboys defense look silly. But hey, Mario is leading the NFL in sacks right? Ohhh, that's too bad...
