I am not the least bit surprised. After EVERY Carroll touchdown they handed the ball to the refs and walked off the field. After every Allen personal foul the Carroll player would just walk away. Winners know that at the end of the day the scoreboard does all of the talking.

And you know you loved the bands. Riverdance anyone? Candy stripers?

I hope you (and everyone) know that the "black" comment was me being facetious.

One more thing. I got a lot of sideways looks from Carroll people. I think it was my North Texas t-shirt or it could just be that they're not used to seeing black people that aren't in a Carroll jersey.

1)Anybody could coach Carroll because of their superior athletes. I mean, to a man they were smaller, and not as strong as the guy across from them. Who wouldn't be able to coach a team that doesn't have all the physical advantages? 2)The spread will leave no room for Jamario. I think Tre Newton only had about 25-30 carries. How in the world will Jamario survive on that? 3)Todd Dodge gets way more people at his Carroll games than he will at Fouts. There were over 25,000 people at this game. Nevermind that Carroll's home stadium holds only 11,000. 4)The facilities he has now blow away the ones at North Texas. Fouts Field doesn't even come close to Texas Stadium.

No, you don't have to burn a year. You can use your redshirt at any point...academics, injury, personal issues, anything can be a reason to take your unused redshirt year.

The real difference is that Rice is a tier 1 academic institution that people nationwide recognize as such. Our neighbors in Ft Worth and on Mockingbird Ln (I refuse to concede all of Dallas, I live here) are tier 1 academic institutions because Muffy and Bart donated a ton of money to U.S. News and sent their kids there.

I think you are both half right and half wrong. First, Todd Dodge doesn't only chunk the ball around the yard. For proof see Tre Newton's 250+ yards last week against Colleyville Heritage in SLC's win. He will do what it takes to win and we already have a stable of good backs. Also, he doesn't have superior athletes at SLC. This is a myth that is put forward by those who don't understand his team. He has made a habit of beating teams with superior athletes, and yes speed too, by out-thinking and outcoaching the other team. Look at local, state and national top 100 teams for prooof. That being said, at this level (1A) it's gonna take at least a handful of really good players to make things run. I just happen to think he's got the reputation and ability to bring them to Denton.

When you call to join the MGC just tell them that you have season tickets and would like for them to send you a parking pass appropriate to your giving level. That shouldn't be a problem. As to the benefits they just keep a list of who is a MGC member on the Ben E. Keith Deck so you can pick up your MGC gift the first game (or often they'll have them during an event prior to the first game) and your name will be down to bring guests onto the deck, into the catered room at the pit, etc.
