Yep, his last signing class didn't include Abbe, Byrd, Chancellor, Antonio Johnson, Zach Orr, Will Wright, Marcus Smith, and Mason Y'Barbo, He also signed the starting quarterback for our only bowl win and winning season under this current bum. Coach Mac outta kiss Todd Dodge's ass for setting him up so well. Mac had one winning season and he did it was Dodge recruits in a stadium that Dodge busted his ass fundraising to build. Dodge made ridiculous mistakes his first year or two on the job, but he learned from them and got better each year. Coach Mac just gets worse as time goes on. He also brought us our all-time leading rusher and this guy who coach Mac sent packing. He went on to do ok at FCS.

I think a lot of the same could be said about Dajon. Mac is quick to send the hook out for qbs that aren't from Iowa. You can say a lot of things about Coach Mac and Mini but one thing is for certain, Mini is the only qb outside of DT that didn't have to worry about getting pulled for poor play.

The craziest part is that the 2008 number was with an actual division 1 defensive coordinator and not a HS DC.

After watching the limited series that Smith has put in, it looks to me like Mac was telling the truth and that Mini does give us the best chance to win. Outside of one pass, nothing about D.Smith has impressed me so far. My gripe with Mini is that he is a redshirt senior that has a less than zero shot of being a pro quarterback but he plays as if he is trying to protect himself. This is the last season of his football playing life and he should be playing with reckless abandon. He should sacrifice his body to get a first down or a touchdown. I see some good things from Mini. He makes some good short-mid range throws, he is getting pretty good at escaping pressure when not facing a heavy blitz, and he doesn't try to force the ball into triple coverage like some others do. The things I don't like are his tendency to lock on to one receiver and a lack of heart. I don't mean heart like he doesn't care about this team but I mean in the sense of self-sacrifice, He is a captain, a redshirt senior, and the starting quarterback, he needs to show the others on this team that he is willing to do ANYTHING to lead this team to a victory.Having said all that, once we get six losses and a bowl game is unreachable, sit him and start figuring out who the starter will be next year.

I'm starting to wonder if there is a team that we'll ever play that isn't "a real good football team". SMU beat us and nobody else. Rice beat us and Wagner. So Miss beat us, TxState, and Austin Peay. This guy is like a damned robot.

Once we get to 6 losses, there should be zero reason for any senior to play another snap in any game other than senior night.

Maybe Rice and ULL but what are the other two games? Could Chico have kept Trent Deans' PAT from getting blocked against ULL? Would he have kept our top 3 qbs from getting hurt and being forced to play a scout team player against ASU and FIU?

I think there is likely a good amount of truth to that statement.

After 4 consecutive conference championships and bowl game appearances, Dickey had 2 poor seasons and was shown the door. I think McCarney has done less with more. I absolutely think it is time for him to move on down the road. RV keeps hiring guys that help him fundraise, he needs to start worrying about coaches that can win games instead.

Seemed like the players loved Skladany and the players loved Chico when he was interim. Maybe it is time for Mac to finally call it a career and let Chico "lock the gate" on this one.

But we were bowl champions 2 years ago and I was a position coach on a team that won a national championship in Florida. Did you know I'm from Iowa?

We have lost every game. We have only scored more than 16 points once(24 against Rice). We have allowed at least 31 points in every game we've played. I think it is safe to say that we've been very consistent.

Don't you understand that in the minds of backup offensive linemen, it is our JOB to spit sunshine and yell rah rah regardless of how terrible they are?

and that was with a DC straight outta high school but we did average 17pts/game on offense, which is slightly above the 16.75 we are averaging this year. So an inexperienced hs coach in his first season with a hs oc and a hs dc selling hopes and dreams while playing at Fouts averaged 17-55 against OU, SMU, FAU, and Arkansas, while an experienced coach with a national championship ring, with an experienced oc and dc averages 16.75-45 against SMU, Rice, Iowa, and Southern Miss, in year 5 while selling the best conference, facilities, and equipment we've ever had?? What a joke. Can you imagine the point spread if this year's team played OU, FAU and Arkansas instead of Rice, Iowa, and Southern Miss?

I understand you're angry but with your rationale, dropping down to FCS would be a waste of time. The only thing that would actually satisfy your frustration would be to terminate the football program altogether. No thank you.
