Lamar sportswriter: UNT game "should" be cancelled
UNTLifer replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Football
What is the point in cancelling the game if Lamar can make the trip? Honestly, they are going to be dealing the effects of this storm for weeks and weeks. Get back to life. I lived through Katrina, Rita and Ike and while none of them caused the devastation in Houston that Harvey has, but the goal of everyone is to get back to normal asap. This game allows them to take that step. -

Based on this track, they may not get much more http://mobile.wunderground.com/hurricane/atlantic/2017/tropical-storm-Harvey -
Neither are listed on the TAMU-Commerce roster.

Proving the CFL has more character than Kiffin and FAU.

The QB controversy is a fan thing and obviously not one in the team. The raising of the "flag pole" is a concern of all of us and mainly us older alums as it takes more effort the older we get!

Yet his boy, who is just as guilty, is coaching in our conference.

But what fun is that!? We must have something to gripe about. Damn You!

That inner-city youth ministry could use an influence like Briles to push it to the next level.

Or, we find our Patterson, he succeeds here, likes it here, we let him play his guitar and "sing" at local watering holes and we move up the foodchain and become a top program. -

DRC: Lingering questions as UNT nears end of camp
UNTLifer replied to Brett Vito's topic in Mean Green Football
Thanks for the correction. -
Oh, Josh Norman, NFL'er and Lee graduate, has already started a petition through Facebook. I'm sure it will be changed. What is interesting to me is that these folks go along with the masses without even researching the person. Lee was actually very much against slavery. Reminds me of the people that were up in arms that Hereford High School's team name is the White Faces. For those that do not know, White Faces were in reference to Hereford cattle that are prevalent in that area.

Facts many don't know: 1. Why is there outrage now and not under the previous administration? 2. https://www.britannica.com/biography/Robert-E-Lee 3. "Although history knows him mostly as “the Rebel General,” Lee was a disbeliever in slavery and secession and was devoutly attached to the republic that his father and kinsmen had helped bring into being. He was, moreover, very advanced in his rejection of war as a resolution of political conflicts—a fact that has been almost entirely ignored by posterity. As a U.S. Army colonel in Texas during the secession crises of late 1860, he wrote, “[If] strife and civil war are to take the place of brotherly love and kindness, I shall mourn for my country and for the welfare and progress of mankind.” As the idol of a defeated people, Lee served as an example of fortitude and magnanimity during the ruin and dislocations, the anguish and bitterness of the war’s long aftermath. In those years, he became an enduring symbol to the Southern people of what was best in their heritage."

I have always referred to it as the tail section because of where it is placed in the stadium, picture above as an example. Otherwise, we are a one-winged Eagle. I just think we should capitalize on this. Someone recently posted a photo of their new flavor, "Mean Green," and it just seems like a good way to try and fill that section. Monster Energy Tail Section Monster Energy Fun Zone Monster Energy Wing Zone These are just some quick ideas, but they could offer 1/2 price tickets when someone brings a can to the ticket window, have special in-game promotions for that section, outline it is green LED or neon, etc... Put bounce houses down below for the kids pre and post game. Heck, combine it with the Jr. Mean Green Club and make it the Monster Energy Jr. Mean Green Club. Join and get a seat in that section, a cool t-shirt and access to the "Fun Zone" bounce house area, etc...

The Feldt brothers. Cam transferred in and couldn't crack the two deep. Blake hurt his beck and gave up the game. He now coaches with his Dad at Odessa Permian. -
Baker and crew should work with Monster Energy about sponsoring the Tail Section, I refuse to call it a wing. Have the Monster Energy tail section and let people bring an empty Monster can for free or reduced priced tail section tickets. Their unique "M" logo would work well with our Mean Green nickname.
