  2. Sponsers out the booty! I think I heard 15 so far.
  3. SMU & TCU are running scared. It is funny to read thier posts and how they rationalize, analyze and spin the Snead article in thier favor. Funny Frogs!
  4. Well, you don't speak for me so you are misquoting. and as far as your next sentence, You are not my brother nor best friend so, I would advise you not to incite me into a contentious response with that type of language. I assume you are not really seriously looking for that; from me.
  5. Wave of PR priceless for UNT North Texas has seemingly been everywhere in the last 24 hours from the front page of most of the Dallas-Fort Worth area's sports sections to leading the nightly television sports reports. The Mean Green has been a hot topic on sports talk radio as well. Everyone seems to want to talk about Todd Dodge being UNT's new head coach. There couldn't be better news for the school. UNT was in need of some positive publicity after a couple of down years at the end of the Darrell Dickey era. Dodge has more than fit the bill. There is just no underestimating what the last few days have done for the athletic department in terms of building enthusiasm, not to mention fundraising and recruiting. Over the last few days I have heard from dozens of fans who either said they were excited about the program again or that they were coming back after several years away or that they were increasing their financial commitment to the program. There is just no way to overstate how important that enthusiasm and free publicity will be for the Mean Green.
  6. I just don't trust that Vito guy . I would like a new DRC beat writer to cover UNT Athlectics from this point forward. New Coach, New writer!
  7. Can you confirm your source? remember you need (two confirmed souces) before you post!
  8. agree 100%, we could have our starter on the active roster. Question is can they absorb what Dodge throws at them? Time will tell.
  9. @OU = cha ching$ @Arkansas = cha ching$ @SMU = cha ching$ maybe the 08 schedule will be better?
  10. Yeah, I caught that too. Wasn't sure at first but vindicated a few seconds later. Shaking my head??
  11. Coaching the American Bowl can only help us in recruiting, don't you think. I vote to let him coach the game.
  12. He reminds of JimmY Johnson
  13. patience! HURRY UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  14. waiting for the live stream!! !! !! I'm so anxious!!!!!!!
  15. this freak is comparing our season avg. vs ONE high profile state playoff game! This makes me freakin mad! This dude needs to go to the local sushi bar and have a polonium-210 egg roll, NOW!
  16. that blows, why is our student body so uniformed about football, we in TEXAS where football is king. sad, sad, sad. I'm just happy we have gomeangreen.com so I can talk football to football people.
  17. Simply by hiring Todd Dodge we are selling ourselves (that sounds dirty) to the DFW recruiting base. I forecast a solid recruiting class this year! and more importantly, TD will get the most out of the players we have on our team now. We will not have a losing season next year. Expectations are high.
  18. I am assumning yes because the announcement is giving location and directions to the mean green athlectic center. TD will have a short Q & A with press and fans.
  19. DD just went up a notch on my list, he is now at (-423)
  20. By BRETT VITO / Denton Record-Chronicle DENTON – Former UNT coach Darrell Dickey and booster Jim McIngvale said Sunday that they will ask the university to name the football team's practice fields after former quarterback Andrew Smith, who died in a car accident on Aug. 7, 2004. Smith led UNT to a 6-0 record in Sun Belt Conference play and a win over Cincinnati in the 2002 New Orleans Bowl. McIngvale, who donated $1 million to help with the construction of the Mean Green Athletic Center. He later requested that the fields be named after Dickey, who was fired Nov. 8. Board of regents to vote on delegating authority DENTON – The board of regents will vote today on a proposal allowing university president Gretchen Bataille and athletic director Rick Villarreal to enter into a contract with a new football coach. UNT policy stipulates that the board must approve all contracts that include a base salary of more than $500,000 for the entire term. A deal with a new football coach would exceed that total.

He was head coach at Yoe High School in Cameron, Texas in the early 90's and couldn't beat his way out of a paper bag. THe whole SLC thing smells. You have people moving into the District JUST for the kids to play football. You have personal trainers for almost the entire team. The coaches don't have to waste there state limited 8 hours of instruction per week on conditioning, it is ALL on football, hence they look like a college team in execution. He has facilities that are better than ANY football program in Texas except for tu and A&M. When you have the Dallas Cowboys coming to use your facilities you know you have it made. It all breaks down to MONEY. Baylor will have to beat out SLC in a bidding war plus I don't think he will leave with his son starting next year and I think his ultimate goal is nothing less than the Big school in Ausitn." __________________ from baylorfans.com I like this quote "You have people moving into the District JUST for the kids to play football" I believe that TD will have this effect here at North Texas if he is hired. We will have recruits coming here to be coached by the best and to enjoy success.
  22. "satisfied" is a lessor degree than "elated", that worries me.
