  1. Here's my shock jock quote for Miss Perfect. "screw her, even if she is hot. She can claim some other school who is in the Big 12. On second thought. . . WHAT is she doing at UNT in the first place? Did she follow her boyfriend here, do Mom and Pop live in Denton and needs to leach off of them while she interns the home and garden station?" Well, that was my first attempt at shock jock talk. I'm kinda new at this and don't normally like berating fellow students but, Chastmine is not an Eagle. She is an exchange student from the depths of hell and is one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocolypse (the dirty one!) Have a nice day, NatureBoy
  2. LINCOLN, Neb. -- Nebraska backup quarterback Harrison Beck is leaving the Cornhuskers. "I'm disappointed that things occurred the way they did," coach Bill Callahan said after practice Monday. "I was hopeful that [the situation] could be rectified. But it's Harrison's choice." Callahan said he spoke with Beck earlier in the day and the sophomore would be released from his scholarship. Beck was a no-show at practice Friday and Saturday. Beck's mother, Evelyn Beck-Bothwell, told Nebraska media outlets on Saturday that her son was disappointed with the amount of practice repetitions he received the first two days of preseason camp. Considered one of the top Nebraska recruits in 2005, Beck burned his redshirt late last season when he replaced injured starter Zac Taylor in a 27-25 victory over Kansas State on Nov. 12. Beck missed his first four passes and threw an interception on the fifth against the Wildcats, then led the Huskers on a seven-play, 55-yard drive, capped by a game-winning 40 yard field goal. The Clearwater, Fla. native turned down scholarship offers from Florida, Florida State and Miami to come to Nebraska and was ranked as high as No. 3 nationally among pro-style quarterbacks by one recruiting service.
  3. Are you Ok with Bomar coming in and unplanting our Soph QB's + W.W.? But what a team we could have! Bomar, Thomas, Quinn We would have our own version of "The triplets" and a solid defense. We will wait and see. . .
  4. If it doesn't make money; it doesn't make sense! on the other hand... If it makes money; it makes sense!
  5. He will make the team. At worst, he will be on the practice squad. We will see him next year in NFL Europe (Rhein Fire)?
  6. If it's true, I would support it. I embrace change in all forms!
  7. These were surprising 40 yard dash numbers. I thought he was faster than the reported numbers. "Patrick Cobbs RB Cobbs (5-8, 206) ran a 40 in 4.71 seconds with the wind and 4.94 against the wind. He also ran the short shuttle in 4.24 and the three-cone drill in 7.10. In additon, he had a 32-inch vertical jump, a 9-foot-6 broad jump and 20 bench presses." http://www.nfl.com/draft/analysis/individual_workouts#notex
  8. I think if PC had a big game during the Hula Bowl he might of drawn enough attention to get an invite to the combine. I kept waiting for him to break a long run but it never came as a result he will have to find a way in to the NFL via the free agent route. I have no doubt someone will bring him in to an NFL team camp, will he stick is the question?
  9. I second the motion! Would the "eagle swoop" logo look good on our helmuts?
  10. I would like to see ticket scalpers outside our stadium, because that would mean the Denton population are fighting to get in and see our team play football. That would be sweet!
  11. I will take anyone who is a true warrior and lays it out on the line everytime he suited up. Always gives and never stops until the game is over regardless of the score. If that person is out there, he derves that last spot.
  12. Things happen for a reason, Williams wasn't meant to be GREEN!
  13. I agree with FF Rick, I was at the LSU game and Meager did a good job. That being said, he has had flashes of promise but I will always choose the player who is more consistant. Will DM show consistancy with a dash of improvment for will Matt P, who I agree can play the QB position, win out? WW? Steven Price? It will be interesting to see who will stand out; and I hope we don't end up with a 3 or 4 headed QB rotation because they cannot seperate themselves from each other.
  14. What is your opinion regarding DM competing for the starting QB position in 2006? Will we have a new QB? RB "shoe in" JT WR "you can't win, without Quinn!" TE ? FB ? Head Coach ? I don't know, but he better be a freak'in MEAN SOB!!! Offensive Coordinator? Someone who is not prone to go into the stands and attack fans, but to attack opposing defenses, oh yeah and he better be freak'in MEAN too! Defensive Coordinator?
  15. Let’s shelve the champagne bottles until we win the N.O. Bowl! I still want to see a mean streak in our team and I don’t know if Dickey is the guy to demand and get that from our players. Let’s live up to our name and get freak’in MEAN!!!
  16. It is now time to focus on recruiting and bulking up our returning football players. A good paradigm shift is neccesary. We should think of ourselves as the underdogs and play smashmouth football. We have to be the most diciplineded and well condtioned team we have ever been to reel back in our SBC title and win some OOC games. Our football tean is a reflection of our coach. In my opinion, DD has no bite and does not demand enough from his players. Whatever it takes to win football games is what should be going on right now. Have these players chomping at the bit and ready to apply pain to the opponent and take what belongs to them. I love NT Football and it frustrates me to see us embarresed on national TV. Our loyal fans, who come to out home games and who go on the road, deserve and demand a MEAN GREEN football team. I pray for a mean, mean, very mean and nasty NT football team in 2006
  17. This is what Dale Hansen wrote back to me: i think we do cover north texas .... not as much as you would like maybe - but i'm told we do - and i'll make sure we do if we're not dale Will to win gets results!
  18. Here is a copy of what I sent to WFAA Ch. 8 a few minutes ago regarding thier failure to mention North Texas football score. "Why does your sports cast football score summary exclude North Texas football? You will mention SMU but not North Texas? Come on! North texas derserves more than that." If you care please send your comment to this TV station by visiting thier web site. Thanks, Will to Win
  19. C/ATT YDS AVG TD INT Daniel Meager 10/15 122 8.1 0 0 Mid. Tenn C/ATT YDS AVG TD INT Daniel Meager 9/26 129 5.0 0 2 North Texas Rushing CAR YDS AVG TD LG Patrick Cobbs 15 56 3.7 0 14 Jamario Thomas 9 23 2.6 0 8 Daniel Meager 7 21 3.0 1 20 Troy And when I say he has improved, I mean his comfort level in running this offense has imroved. Keep in mind he is a Red Shirt Freshman. He has become more vocal during them game, and showing more emotion during the game as compared to Mid. Tenn, which I would notch under the "Showing improvement" category. Give the kid a chance!
  20. Meager has improved since his debut at Middle Tenneesee. He seems to be more comfortable but, still has a way to go. (Point) I think he will evolve into a solid college QB for our Mean Green. He can run and throw. Question? Will he mature fast enough this year to allow us an opportunity to compete in the Sun Belt Championship game? Question? Do you hand the ball off to the sophmore running back (who can create in space), the senior running back (the incumbent), or a combination of the two? In my opinion, I vote for the guy who can give you the best chance to win, and I am taking into account the level of success our O-Line has displayed as of 10-4-05. JT fits the bill! He can create when little or nothing has been created.
