The penalty is actually Illegal Kicking. You can't boot a live ball on the ground. The penalty is 15 yards and a loss of down (if against the offense, which this was). The result of this play is a safety, but only if the penalty is declined. Since the penalty was accepted, the yardage was enforced and the loss of down gave North Texas a turnover on downs. It's a big decision, since TD took points off the board.

Advocacy groups rarely make those sort of statements; they do not want to turn off their support (read: donations) base. Instead, they will issue a non-statement like "We see opportunity to begin a meaningful dialogue...." etc.

Shared blame on this one. The Offensive (literally) playcalling at the ends of both halves absolutely put ASU in a position to win. With a first & 10 from the 14, the playcalling says to Vizza & Co "We don't trust you in the clutch. Just run some simple off-tackle plays and we'll pray for a defensive stop". I saw game management in that series that can only be described as chicken, playing not to lose. By the way, a field goal would have only given us a 6-point lead. We still would have lost.

It sounded like the Gary Glitter "Rock-n-Roll # 2" asswhipping. Every school has their own thing for that song, kudos to the OSU folks for simply taking charge.

One of my favorite places that I always drag my buds to when I go down there is Texas Chili Parlor on Lavaca between 14th and 15th. Park nearby and walk the block or so to the Capitol grounds, and then go to lunch here. A variety of Tex-Mex. although more Tex than Mex, never had a bad meal here. Do the chili, though, it's actual authentic Red and not overly tricked up (the diced onions and jalapenos come on the side for self-tricking). Don't let the decor fool you, enjoy the ambience. It's genuine Austin-weird, without being faked.
