Jen, check out the Holiday Inn in Highland Beach, Fla Their website It is one of the best deals in the Miami-Ft Lauderdale-Boca Raton area, I've stayed there 4 times. It's an excellent well-kept place, good price, away from the crowds, and literally on the oceanfront. If you change your mind and want to go people-watching, Ft Lauderdale is only about 8 miles away or so. I also like to take a day and make a day trip down to Key West on A-1-A. For a great Texas getaway, look at Port Aransas, near Corpus Christi. Nowhere near as crowded as South Padre, and the beach is just as good, if not better. And it's not dirty like Galveston.
