To each their own. Cable providers are going to have to change their models soon, or they will get edged out of the race. I think that we may start to see the a la cart channel selection sooner rather than later given current trends.

I know lots of people under 40 who are subscribed to paid TV, myself included. There are plenty who are cutting the cord, but I don't think that the under 40 crowd is wholesale going away from cable.

Considering that I don't think he should be around after this year, this is a tough question. For me, it would need to be somewhere in the 23-27 win range with post season success (like getting into the NCAA or NIT, not just winning a game in the conference tournament). Just .500 doesn't impress me in year five considering the previous four. He needs to prove that he gets it and make some real improvement in his record. I really believe that he is going to attempt to pad his schedule as much as possible to try and find OOC wins, but past examples prove that it won't help him since he can't even win those games. We are really just kicking the can down the road on replacing him since there is really no realistic way he can do enough to keep his job.

When you say that, do you mean TWC and the like, or paid TV in general (including DirectTV, FiOS, etc.)?

The most confusing thing about this whole situation is that one winning season in five was not enough to keep Mac around, why would a winning season next season be enough to keep Benford around? If it is, then that is a huge problem. If it isn't, then why even keep him around for next season since the outcome will not be enough to keep him?

Surely you don't actually mean everything because there is plenty of evidence to refute that. If you mean revenue sports, then yes, those have been very bad.

You are assuming that no players will "go pro" or "decide to move to another school" in the off season. History shows us that, on a Benford team, one or both of those things will likely happen.
