So close. Stranded girls on 2nd and 3rd base in the 6th ... had chance to take over the game with only 1 out. They are playing well after a tough start to the season and doing great in conf. play.

Ladies have done well lately after a difficult schedule to start the year. Like the fact that we upgraded the facilities, yet think we can do more for them. I'm remote so see games but those last few were still exciting with the walk off homers, etc. Understand the impeding runner from the base rule, but it has to be modified. Tulsa was clearly out at 3rd base long before getting to the bag and our girl was definitely out at home yet they both offset and things worked out. Shame those decisions can affect the game with such impact. Exciting times to be a Mean Green Fan across the board.

They added covered seats across the field for players / teams.

NT in a tough game as I predicted with Tulsa. Watching the 2nd half. We are definitely the aggressor yet Tulsa has had some good shots on goal. 2-2 with 33 min. remaining. AND they have new section for teams across field ... thank you ... so much better. keep it coming !!

Curious to hear your viewpoints. I watched on Espn+ earlier. Skipped through some areas yet caught the game overall. Some thoughts. 1. Celtic Uni - so clearly we had an advantage 🙂 however, I agree the back of jersey numbers were not clear on screen. 2. UTSA had good ball control, particularly in the first half. I bet time of possession was similar overall. For NT, Brunell has nice touch on ball, passing. I have always liked Roebuck toughness in midfield (signed a hat for me last year). Ogden has been quite good - congrats on the 2nd goal !! I foresee the team getting more comfortable with game, slowing down and passing more strategically into the box vs. longer kicks to one (maybe two) girls to take advantage of size or position. 3. Wesco and Brown clearly have some height advantage. NT went more into defensive mode in 2nd half yet longer passes toward goal were clearly a mismatch at times for UTSA defense. 4. Defense. Has always been a trademark for NT. 7 shutouts in 10 games this year is fantastic. We have good depth this year. Some solid hits throughout the game. Hope injured girls from both teams are okay. 5. Tulsa. They tied UTSA and SMU 0-0. Should be a win for us, yet wont be easy. They have scored well on lesser opponents. We will need more offensive production - opportunities as we did with Rice to beat Tulsa yet our D should prove the diff. 6. Facilities. After seeing other fields, even more I feel NT has to add seating for both teams, and geez, add fencing or something for balls hit out of play on far side of NT field !! Track team could also take advantage of seating or ?? on far side of field.

Good call @UNTLifer .. either way, they deserve better. They are too good not to get the upgrade. Been consistent for years and this team looks to continue that tradition.

I only saw the 2nd half yet it was clear our team had more .. desire, talent, etc. Not taking away from Rice, but our girls seemed more determined. Won 1:1 match-ups, better vision downfield, stronger overall. Now, Tech looked more dominant against us earlier in the year, so perhaps focus and env. played a part. I missed the Memphis game. Hoping to see more wins coming and building on this win over a recent C-USA rival. We are better than that bench set-up across the field. Seriously. Get them covered area with race car seats !! And bring on the Celtic Uniforms !!

This soccer team seems a little more scrappy, more contact perhaps in challenging the ball but its early on .. open to your assessment. If I can be critical 🙂 the offense could slow down a little and set up positional players (at times) vs the longer drop in trying to get a 1:1 push toward goal. Ex. note the last goal, player was at top of the box, received the pass and turned to kick. Previously balls were shot from outside the box vs. playing inside to crossing teammate, and the goalie had ample time to respond .. farther (slower) attack. I know we have always had an emphasis on defense, yet too many times we shot from far out vs. keeping possession and aligning incoming players. Easy to be a armchair observer .. Still, love the success of our women's team

Ladies looking good at 3-0, holding all 3 teams scoreless. Gotta give them a lot of credit. They fly under the radar yet do soo well. And they have same uniforms as the Scots Celtics !! Sweeeeet

Listened to the game online .. announcer from Okie State did a fine job recognizing players, giving NT credit, even stating the attendance was clearly higher than recognized at the gates. If you haven't seen the uploads on twitter, go check them out. Great to see the girls get a great win. I thought we were going to beat UT several weeks back as well. time to step up in conf. play. Nice to see multiple sports competing at the end of the season for titles.

Brilliant. Thanks for posting. Our women have been quite amazing over the years. Just look at Soccer, Softball, Volleyball, improvement in Basketball ... all respect to the ladies. Each of these sports has knocked off top 20 teams on a yearly basis along with major conference wins, not just C-USA. And dont give me political crap for saying, damn good looking bunch. Go Mean Green !!

I have not logged in for a long long time, yet I have been reading this forum since it started. Following the ones prior to that actually. I dont post very often yet this one is truly an amazing accomplishment. This is the first of its kind in NCAA history .. not just C-USA, not just for North Texas. Definitely read the ESPN story along with others. North Texas has been in the public a lot this year .... and this is a fantastic example as to why.

Been monitoring North Texas chat rooms for a long long time. I dont post much anymore yet this deserves one. Always respected Johnny Jones. Anyhow, a few months back just before the end of the BBall season I was at a restaurant in Santa Clara. Johnny and the Nevada came through the door. As I walked by him I stopped to say hello. He stopped and spoke to me for at least 10 minutes .. asking me my name, when I was at North Texas, etc. Went out of his way to say hello and talk. Great guy and I wish him all the best. We all have jobs. But sometimes you meet somebody who respects the job and the relationships ... something we don't see enough. Johnny is always calm, collected and respectful ... and he put NT on the map for a while :)
