  1. i don't know about y'all but i am no harvard reject; i never applied there.
  2. Considering how much run production we have in Apogee, we need to rotate Byrd early with Jimmerson to keep legs fresh.
  3. Yep. http://www.collegefootballpoll.com/analysis_cusa_ntex.html
  4. Dunham said he was pulled late 1st quarter.
  5. Looks worse on replay. Didn't know that was possible. This post has been promoted to an article
  6. Looks worse on replay. Didn't know that was possible.
  7. Josh Hamilton comparing the boos to Jesus' suffering is, huh... bold. I don't celebrate personal harm/belittling, but I will cheer when he strikes out today.

  8. DallasGreen: The arrogance wreaking from your post is laughable and your attitude towards how other people should feel toward football is down-right rude. To assume attendance at a football game is the only representative factor in someone's opinion or loyalty to their alma mater is ignorant. College isn't just about sports (GASP!). Further, to think attendance is somehow the responsibility of a Denton resident is wrong. I know to a football fan like you (and to an extent me), to fathom that someone doesn't like football is difficult, but you can't expect people who aren't sports fans in general to attend a UNT game. Should the city and UNT do a better job at promoting the game and bringing community involvement sure, but to bash a town that has no history of football allegiance because they didn't see a record broken is abrasive and makes me want to distant my fan-dom if that is how a UNT fan acts. Lastly, and frankly, I don't care how much money you have given to UNT; that doesn't justify your immaturity in calling out the people you did because of a game. ~mic drop~
  9. i would like to know the competition to become a wife receiver. i don't think that would be a NCAA sanctioned recruiting tactic.
  10. A couple of thoughts: 1) I don't think Collins ever sits empty when DHS plays at it's own stadium. It is hard to schedule 3 teams to play in one home stadium, so DHS not playing there relieves some scheduling issues, but not all. 2) I don't think you can compare UNT draw to a DHS/Ryan game. High school is mostly students and parents; public schools don't really market outside the cafeteria. 3) I don't think it's a Denton thing; its a metroplex dominated by Big XII thing. For example, take a look at Sports Authority in Denton, they barely sell UNT compared to OU and Texas... do you blame Denton on that? Let Coach Mac do his thing. This train is moving.
  11. When was the last Sun Belt team to go undefeated?
  12. it is unfortunate an innocent game involving bags of corn is called "cornhole." never the less, i love me some cornhole and would welcome playing a sweet game of cornhole with any GMG member.
  13. I received this response back from Newy, himself: "TCU and SMU sent out separate emails on their POW kids. UNT did not. So fire off an email to your school to ask why they didn't do what those schools did. The Southland conference sent one out as well. Sounds like you are asking me to care more than they do at NT. Newy"
  14. i am certainly not arguing/debating this point or trying to beat a dead horse. but if they are disconnected with UNT because of it's sports history, then all the more reason to highlight an award, especially in an ever increasingly competitive conference. is NBC news reporting on stories that bring ratings? sure, no doubt and more people will stay teased for a TCU or SMU story... as they should. all the original poster was asking was a mention of an award... some credit where credit is earned. we aren't asking for Dan Patrick to highlight Brelan; we are asking Newey Scruggs.
  15. it is ridiculous to think that we don't deserve local media coverage because our scheduling is poor or that we do, in fact, lose. isn't there an old adage, "there's no such thing as bad publicity."? i guess we all should wait to show up at games or talk up the mean green program until they win, huh?! that's FUBAR. i don't think its unfair to expect or simply ask him to mention a record setting night. email sent.
  16. regardless of UH's thoughts (though glad they are generally positive) I was very proud to host UH; nothing to be ashamed of at apogee. nothing. side note on UH fans: though friendly, they need to step up their cornhole game; Zeke and I dominated them.
  17. wow, don't know why you got the -1, i agree with you. i think the defense especially played well with great play calls the first half. simply too tired to execute in the 2nd. +1
  18. i don't and will not blame the refs for this, but please tell me i wasn't the only one frustrated with the lack of holding calls.
  19. though, i have my doubts of this situation actually coming to fruition it is an interesting debate. when i was at the university of tennessee, i had to camp out just to get a lottery ticket to some home games. it would suck to be 8001, but welcome to the world of D1 football. i wish we were having this debate 6 years ago and i imagine Quinn, Cobbs, Hall and Booger do too.
  20. i was inspired by Smitty; took my lazy labor day morning to goof around in ol' photoshop. i thought i would share my creations. i think they turned out okay.
  21. well done on film. already shared it on facebook. cant wait until next week!
