I lost to UT 27-20. UT scored on the last play of the game. With SMU. I won 27-24. I actually blocked a 26 yd field goal attempt with 1 sec. on the clock. Who would have thought that. I was winning 27-10 with about 1:30 left on the clock. The computer did the good ol' make UNT fumble on the 3 (yes the SMU 3). Next play 97 yeard TD PASS to Carl Lewis (or so it seemed). Punt. INT. Then Onside kick that he recovered with ease.

Does anyone here have the Xbox 360 version of NCAA '07? Where is Fouts Field? That field I am playing on looks nothing like it. It looks like it could hold 70,000 fans and the endzones connect all the way arround, and are not bleachers. Also a funny thing. In the past it was nothing for me to have 400+ yards rushing with 2-3 runs of 20 yards or more each time down the fied. I open the box and put in the game. I set my team as UNT (a givin ...I know), and was ready to play. 1st play.....hand off to Thomas...Loss of 3. Play 2....Hand off to Thomas......loss of 3 again......play 3.......Option play......hiked the ball took a step and ...sacked. At this point it was 4th and 15 (or something like that), so I did what any pissed off gamer would do....I went for it. Hail Marry to Quinn....Touchdown!!!. 5 games later. My average with Thomas is 2.6 Yards Per Carry. What gives? I follow my blockers, and the defender skips by him every time. Is the line that bad in this game? When Thomas is touched by the defenders sock I fall. For some reason my QB is greatness and all my receivers are doing their job, but heck if I can't run the ball. It is probably me still learning the game, but Thomas seems to run a 5.3 40 and the line is butter at best. I like the game, but bring back Fouts and give me my running game. GO EAGLES

This is one of the plays (vs. Cincy) that has always bothered me. Cobbs forward progress had stopped, and was even carried back serveral yards but the officials did never called it. I could be wrong since the call was against the Mean Green, and I tend to be a little bias.

Correct me if I am wrong, but I read a year or 2 ago that DD insisted on recruits not stating UNT when talking about interested schools. And that he did not publish the insterested candidates.

Beating a dead horse here. DD should stay. Great coach. He has proven it. 4 SBC titles. Ok now for the "what about our OOC" crowd. I can take it....maybe.

It is based on ticket sales and not attendance from what I understand, so if 3000 season ticket holders to not show up for the game they are still counted from what I understand.

My original questions was to name a better coach that UNT has had since the mid 80's (last 20 years). I agree that Stoops, etc are better. But what UNT coach has been better for UNT than DD in the last 2 decades?

I know I will hear about the weaker OOC this year and we didn't do well, but if we had this schedule the last 3 years we would be looking good. We just have a down year. Keep supporing the Mean Green.

Not this fire DD stuff again. So I'll bite yet again.... I think we will here this until he wins a national championship. If he starts winning OOC games (which means beating UT, OU, LSU, etc) then that will not be enough for many. We will start hearing...."We are winning OOC game, but we can crack the top 25". Or UNT schedules easy OOC game....we get "we are only winning OOC game because we are playing easy teams. We need to play UT, OU again." I have followed this team since the early 80's....NAME ONE COACH THAT HAS BEEN BETTER from 1985 to now. We are having a hard year. It happens even with a good coach.... ex...Penn St. I guess they have a crappy coach. Ok I am off my soap box now. We all have the best at heart for UNT even if we don't agree on this subject accross the UNT fan base. GO MEAN GREEN.

Stick with DD until we have more than one or 2 bad years. I wonder if Stoops is going through this. He has several great years like UNT, and is having trouble this year....like UNT. But yet they still like him. I know SBC titles are not National Titles, but I am proud of the Mean Green for what they have done thanks to DD. I keep telling myself I will not talk about the DD debate. Sorry, I know it's old. The good thing is we all have a common goal, but we just think differently on how to get there.

Neither. I have to trust that the coach knows better than I do on who to play at quarterback, and I think DD is a GREAT coach. Before you say it I know many people are upset and blame the coach. He got the praise when they were winning, and he gets the crap when they are not winning. It just comes with the job. He is, remember, the 4 time SBC coach of the year. I remember most of the coaches the last 20 years, and can't remember one better than DD, and can't think of a better one that is willing to come to UNT. I have said enough. I can type on this forever.
