I have no problem with someone mentioning the Squirrel. It was fine, it was my way of saying that this is a FOOTBALL forum. But to further address your comments to me...... It sounds like you want UNT to be known as the school with the squirrel. I want UNT to be known as the school with the great sports, music, and academic programs. But that is just me. I have confidence that UNT can get there, and does not have to resort to the squirrel as you posted. Also.....How does a squirrel driving me crazy mean that I have "no confidence in myself or my school"????? Read my other posts. I have an almost unrealistic confidence in UNT. We are all UNT supporters here, so no reason for you getting on me over a squirrel. BTW..... I will leave you with a quote from Shaq...."I would strangle a squirrel on the court for another championship...I would do it in front of PETA and everyone". (might not be word for word, but to the best of my memory.) GO MEAN GREEN

Yes....TROY. I hate to say it, but Troy is not a good team. If they are the best the Sunbelt has to offer than I feel sorry for the SBC. The game was a "who can look the worst" type of game.

Nothing wrong with DD, and I am tired of the coach getting the blame. Snellenberger must be a bad coach at FAU. Replace him. He is 0-4 and getting kicked around as well. This is a joke, but you get my point.

Trust me I understand the DD negatives, but when you look at his ability as a whole he is a very good coach. UNT is in part where it is because of him. If you think Simon or Parker could have gotten UNT to the level of play were we can even have many of the discussions we have on this board than I will have to disagree. I might can change my mind on this if you could give me some better coaches that would come to UNT and coach.

One game does not make a season. I would much rather be UNT than NMSU. We have better talent, better coach (yes DD is a GREAT coach), and more dedicated fans (just look at our board compared to theirs). I was at 1st mad at the world for the 54-2 butt kickin' but have gotten over it and can look at things more clear now. UNT is young, and will have to grow. This is a learning year for UNT. Most schools have them, and now it is our turn. We will be fine this year, and next year even better, and the year after even better. Things are bright among the UNT Football program. Look past our emotions of the loss. Our plus: 1) Good young talent 2) Good Coach 3) Good fan support 4) Bright future 5) Should be fine in SBC play Our negatives 1) Talent is young 2) Rebuilding 3) Field 4) OOC - Enough said And I would never think that NMSU is in better shape than UNT in the long term...heck...even the short term.

I left the game with about 6 min. left in the 4th and the score was 33 - 2....Did Tulsa run up the score, or did I miss something here.

I agree, but I didn't expect this much on the 1st game. The plus is that there was much improvement each quarter, and that is what a coach wants to see.

Also keep in mind that Cobbs is a better blocking back, and receiving back. And with the new QB that was a must in this game. When the QB gets some games under his belt I think you will see more balance.

I agree with the decision to play Cobbs....I think. Knee Jerk was "why isn't Thomas playing more", but I think he wanted leadership and experience on the field for this one. Also there were many NFL scouts at the game, and this was fare for Cobbs. He deserves it.

You would be correct...Thomas did get injured at the end of the 1st Quarter I think (maybe early 2nd). And I think he still had 58 yards that quarter...not bad. Just an FYI...Thomas averaged more yards against BCS schools than Sunbelt. And someone (who must be crazy) stated that Alabama's running game was on par with UNT??? What??? Also remember that Colorado did win big, but we were able to put up over 500 yards of offence againt them, and they only had about 50 yards more of offence than UNT. MTSU could not even go how many yards vs. Alabama? BTW at the time Colorado was number 4 in the nation in total D.

I am very confident, and I have posted it because of all the lack of confidence I have been reading about. I would much rather be UNT than MTSU. I say we have the upper hand. Think of what the MTSU coach is thinking. 1) how do I stop those RBs. Jamerio torched me for 170+ yards last year. 2) how do I cover those very good receivers since I have a team that can't stop the pass. 3) If I lose this game where will I be coaching next year. 4) If I couldn't stop the run or the pass last year, how will I this year with the same guys? 5) I have never beaten UNT. 6) None of my players have ever won against UNT 7) Thank God (notice the capital "G") the SBC put UNT early on the schedule. I hope they start slow this year. Yup, I think I would rather be UNT. I also believe that TCU was a much better team than OU. OU DID NOT HAVE SUPERIOR TALENT. Sorry, but unless there is much improvement OU will be hard pressed to win over half their games. I watch some games and say...."there is no way in a million years that this team could win again". This is not one of those games. TCU is the better TEAM. This is not because I don't like OU (eventhough I don't). But they were bad....really bad. GO MEAN GREEN
