  1. Might point out the Kilgore RB Demby is a Pflugerville product not Austin.
  2. Where is Brock Stickler ??
  3. Notice Southeaster Okla. Savages are now the Savage Strom. Midwestern University in Wichita Falls will no longer be the Indians.
  4. Ft Worth Star Telegram reports 3 new verbals to UNT. All def. linemen Matt Menard 6'5" Spring Westfield Estaban Santigo 6'3" El Paso Coronado Marquis Sykes 6"3" Coppell
  5. Hodges was hurt in the Cotton bowl and did not suit uup for the hula bowl.
  6. Plum, I did not know Wayne's father. If you did meet Wayne you would more than likely remember him, while in high school, he and a couple of buddies went out hunting and while crossing a barbed wire fence his gun discharged and blew off most of his nose. His wife's name was Alice and his kids are Scarlett and J. Rhett.Wayne was Quanah's great grandson. Buff
  7. Seems like one post quoted DD as saying this recruiting class may consist of 25 players. This would be the full allotment.
  8. According to A&M website Batson from Cisco JC has committed to A&M.
  9. It seems that sometime during the season Quinn ws quoted as saying that Antione Bush the RS freshman from Tyler was the best CB on the team.
  10. Same question , what has happened to Brock Stickler ? QB will be interesting , most recruiting services list Wilson as a DB, what will Phillips look like after a full year in the program ? Will offensive philosophy change to enhance the individual strengths of the skilled players ? Will the change in the color green really make a differnce ?
  11. Some people would find something to gripe abput if we were in the top 19.
  12. UT lost P.J. Tucker, their best BB player,to grades last year. A&M lost about 8 football players last year at semester, assume several were because of grades.
  13. It's a shame the young man failed to take the opportunity to get an education . If you look around I think you will find UNT has fewer players fail to qualify academically than most other DI programs.
  14. Not rationalization but fact, not saying all players that go out of state fall in this catagory. There was a discussion of this on Rivals.com not long ago.
  15. I might hazard a guess that the kid has not passed the test allowing him to attend a Texas University, hence only out of state schools were available to him. This happens quite often , look at the top 100state recruits and notice how many only consider out of state schools.
  16. Has anyone checked to see which of these teams already have 12 games schelduled this year? Remember DIAA schools cannot play 12 games in 2006.
  17. \ According to the paper this AM Snead can enroll and participate in workouts , but cannot sign a scholarship offer until Feb. 1st.
  18. Since he is already a high school graduate, he is just like a eligible JC player.
  19. Keep in mind that coaches work 50 or so more days than the avg. teacher, that most coaches are also teachers and teach classes as well as coach, that the survey included only head coaches ( ADs ) and not assistants, middle school coaches, etc. Not to mention that coaches are more apt to be replaced than non-coaching teachers.
  20. Don't forget about Evan Robertson the freshman running back, a real burner with lots of talent. Also look for big things from Joesph Miller the freshman DT.
  21. Why would the WAC want any of the Sun Belt teams ? Just to add numbers ? If you are intent on moving UNT west why not to a real DI conference , the Mountain West. Much more attractive schools and recognition. Brigham Young, Air Force, Colorado State, Utah, San Diego State, TCU, Wyoming, New Mexico, UNLV. These are schools that would bring in the crowds we need.If we are going to move, move up , not laterally.
  22. Lot of turnovers last night, careless passes. First half UNO dominated the boards. First game I've been to this year, was impressed by Justin Barnett who passed the ball well and played the boards tough while he was on the court.
