This is the position we WANT to be in. I'd much rather be looking for new coaches each off-season than wondering why we hired scrub coaches in the first place under previous regimes. This means that. 1. We are having some success. 2. Littrell is hiring good coaches that P5 schools recognize as good coaches as well. ETA: Mainord was with Littrell at the NTX Football Coaches Clinic yesterday so if he is gone then he was snatched up today.

Looks like Ek will be Co-Defensive Coordinator at UNC as per Inside Carolina.

Anyone in the know have an idea who we lose?

We've had a basketball coaching vacancy for 5 years.

He's the ONLY one doing it. He has a ton of don't care in him.

How'd that work out? RV loved him some RV. I want Wren busy fixing the flaming garbage dump(quite literally according to Trip's report) that RV left this place in. Wren has so far addressed: 1. Re-built Football locker rooms 2. Rebuilt women's BBall locker room 3. Re-built Football meeting rooms. 4. Re-surfaced Warranch Tennis Center 5. Expanded Apogee concessions and beer options Wren is taking care of the low hanging fruit that can be fixed quickly. He will stick to his word and evaluate(see fire) Benford on or around March 4th.

Well, we know they aren't prepping for games, watching film of upcoming opponents, or anything related to basketball in general. Posting on GMG is a lock-pick.

So assuming Benford is let go on or around March 4th what is a good timeframe for hiring a replacement. IIRC Benford was named head coach at UNT about two weeks after JJ was announced at LSU. I wanna make the right hire here and I want Wren to take the time he needs to make the right choice. I know the NCAA tourney will come into play as the Benford firing should happen 4-5 weeks earlier then the JJ departure. Should we expect to see the new coach mid April?

The idea is that you go into the season with the plan to red-shirt certain players. These are mostly freshman from your last class and, to a lesser extent, players that got injured during fall camp or late in the offseason(See Scott Hall in his would-be senior season). Never a reason to declare at all. When circumstances change with your freshman you play them and move forward. Like Littrell said in the presser on Wednesday. You would like to red-shirt all of the freshman class every year but don't always have that luxury.

Nobody's getting defensive here. You're just dealing in absolutes.

Stop using logic. Some people have an agenda. ETA: I am not advocating one QB over any other. I want the best player/s on the field. PERIOD. Seth Littrell has shown the same desire. The bottom line is winning. THAT is all that matters. If Fine is the best then so be it.

The "burning" question is why is a guy "dripping" with talent a PWO and not a scholly guy. I, for one, will "clap" when he hits the field.
