  1. Well, a day or so before the UAB game I sent Dr. Cook an email (belatedly) advising him that Sept. was childhood cancer awareness month. I told him that I thought that since the GB had established a tradition of playing "You'll Never Walk Alone" at the end of every game, that maybe they could dedicate that weeks playing to all the childhood cancer patients. I advised him that it was of particular interest to me because my granddaughter was a leukemia patient who is approaching her five year anniversary with no evidence of any cancer present.  Here was his response.

Apologies, Friday/Saturday were busy days and I didn’t get to review this before then. Thank you for letting me know about this. While it will be a different environment, I will do so at LA Tech or perhaps our next time at home (despite not being September).

This is the second time that the band did not make a trip that it was originally scheduled to make. I understand SMU because they would be pretty crowded together, but the La Tech stands are much more open.  This is an automatic response that I got from an e-mail that I had sent him right after the opening game of the season (Northwestern State).

hank you for your message. I anticipate being away from the office until Monday, September 13th as we welcome a newborn into our family. I will begin to review emails after that time.

My response was to congratulate him on the addition of a child to his family, but I never got any response about that. Plus, there was not anything on the GB web-site about it. It wasn't mentioned on their facebook page either.

I understand that there is a lot going on with football season beginning, but something seems a bit odd.

Have you heard anything from him?
