Sure this played a part in his promotion. He is doing a great job. Having him as an OC and being able to raise his salary will hopefully keep him here a little longer.

DRC: Bennett to make $350,000 per year
El Paso Eagle replied to Brett Vito's topic in Mean Green Football
When PB was hired he mentioned he would not be in Denton "full time" during the offseason. Maybe this is another reason the salary is a little lower. PS - I wish we would have taken some of the money we saved and added a hand full of analyst to help out the team. Seems to be a growing trend to add additional help. -

100% committed (I will no longer use 110% - that doesn't seem to work well) to hoping it all works out and the D line has a great year. I just hope this "leap" of a hire does not come back to burn us. -

If they were married to, or about to marry the new DC's daughter I would question. Our D has been a crap show and there are a lot of experienced coaches we could have got for the money. As a Grad assistant or QC coach, maybe, but nothing in his background indicates he is ready for this. Was this one of the "conditions" PB said had to be met for him to come? This sounds like the type of hire that was allowed during the Dodge era. Again, I hope I am wrong but if it goes wrong this board will blow-up with people questioning how this hire was allowed. -

Patrick had proven he could "do". Passwaters, as far as I have seen, hs done neither -

At the time DB had a very questionable shoulder injury. Hindsight 20/20 but at the time it did not look so good -

So Passwaters will make the same as Cobbs and other assistants with coaching experience? He had better work out well or Wren, Seth and PB need to be shown the door with no severance. This hire has the potential to put a stain on the program. Sorry, but if you look at footballscoop.com there are highly experienced coaches getting hired daily. I hope I eat my words and Passwaters kicks ass, but this nepotism for, at least on paper, an unqualified hire bother me as much as the record. -

Probably a compromise for the DL line coaches pay -
Seems like all 3 major sports teams in the Dallas area count on fans shelling out their money regardless of the crap show on the field. JJ and the Cowboys have grown to one of the most valuable sports franchises in the world and have been a joke. But hey, if people keep buying you items you can sit back and take it to the bank and laugh. Cuban has ruined the Mavs and now the Rangers are one of the worst in baseball.
-
Thoughts? I personally think Cuban has been a crap owner who has somehow made the team a place no Superstars want to go. Have not been a fan of his for years. https://www.foxnews.com/sports/mark-cuban-confirms-mavericks-no-longer-playing-national-anthem-at-home-games

It seems UNC is still letting him mix in with their off season program. I liked that he mentioned he would be using Zoom to keep up with what's happening and to learn the play book

Mattress Mack and the Super Bowl

DD did a good job at winning the conference. I do think, right or wrong, the way he went out with the black jerseys played a big part is the reason he has not got another HC job. People understand coaches get fired, it's common in the business, but how you handle it makes a difference. -
He had a GREAT final round

@PlummMeanGreenIt's one thing to get upset and frustrated in the heat of the moment but some have a harder time letting it go. It's hard to tell whether some are happier when we do well, or find more joy complaining about things.
