Media bias chart
El Paso Eagle replied to 97and03's topic in The Eagles Nest (There Should be Pie For Everyone Forum)
That's good. Too many people confuse mot of what's on CNN, FOX, and MSNBC as "news" versus opinion. Choose what you like or feel comfortable with, but it definitely seems like there are not too many places left to hear actual news reporting. -
‘21 LB KC Ossai - Conroe Oak Ridge
El Paso Eagle replied to 97and03's topic in UNT Football Recruiting
As some point we're all going to have to accept that "resources" do not seem to be high on the list of many G5 recruits. Sorry, but at this time the Belt is considered a much better conference -
Not sure I would say analysts are not trusted at SEC schools. Sakkisian was one, Butch Jones was one. What the schools with the money have done is find a way of adding coaches. Alabama has 12. LSU has 10. Hell, even UTSA has a couple now. They split responsibilities up and allow the on field coaches to lighten their off-field loads. https://tdalabamamag.com/2019/10/01/alabama-analysts/

Zach Orr interviewing for NFL coaching job
El Paso Eagle replied to UNT18Grad's topic in Mean Green Football
Just wondering, is it normal for NFL position coaches to move around as much as College coaches do? -
No disagreement. Just seems he decided to take the risk that he would get the Texas job and that was perhaps worth it in his opinion or it did not play out as quick as he had wanted.
-
Agree to disagree. Across this board not only hirings here but other places when Baylor coaches are mentioned there are always people complaining they should not get hired again It has been reported that in vetting TW the University checked his references and contacted 12 people. How much is enough? I guess you can always say if something went wrong the process was not good enough
-
There are probably many here who think the Duke Lacrosse team was not punished enough.
-
So, you’re saying the department head call previous employers and references? Highly doubt they let the person interviewing and making the decision to hire also verify the background. But again, you are in the group who believes all things Baylor Coaching are bad.
-
They do the vetting for all hires or are blamed when one gets in trouble?
-
It has been mentioned. On this board ever time a coach who was at Baylor at the time is mentioned there is divide. There are many here who seem to believe anyone who coached at Baylor during that time should never be allowed to coach again. As far as vetting, is that on Seth or the HR department? Do Department heads vet the new professors and then get questioned if one of them has troubles?

It was not the DC job at Texas, it was the LB coach
-
From what I have seen Herm Edwards wanted PB to stay and coach for him. One of the things you hear about Edwards how he is good at surrounding himself with good coaches who are high quality people.
-
This PB is coming here and wants to be here. Think if Stoops had come it would have been "a job" while he kept looking. Could be wrong.
-
There are some people who will never be OK with a Baylor ex hire and that's their choice. It seems these days if someone doesn't agree with someone it does not matter the reason and instead on moving on they take every chance to tell everyone how wrong that person is and push the narrative that they should never be allowed to work again.

Not so sure Stoops was not approached but he thought he was going to get the Texas job. That did not happen. Guess he was not sure he wanted to be here
