A better question is can we get the Green Brigade to wear real uniforms rather than looking like they had stopped for a day at Lake Lewisville on the way down. SMU wore REAL uniforms against Baylor, but maybe they are just University Park cool and don't sweat like our horn tooters

Your friend was definitely right on the smack talk as students and alums were talking plenty of trash especially afterward when they saw me and a fellow UNT Foundation director there in our NT gear on the train after the game. They definitely feel they will mop the floor with the backward little commuter, horntooter school from the north next weekend! Do fear their speed and QB play. Three and outs will have us quickly down by multiple scores in this game. We must play uptempo to be competitive.

I was there and Matt Davis is the real deal. He is very slippery and is a true dual threat. No way we have the speed that SMU showed. One thing if you waltz in five minutes to kick off like people do at Apogee forget about seeing the first quarter, as SMU is completely unprepared for a crowd over 10K. After you get in the beer line will take you a quarter to get through. SMU will bring plenty of folks after what they saw last night. It was BU depth that finally wore them down on a warm, humid night. I hope for the best for UNT, but we must speed up the tempo to have any hope against SMU. I was very impressed with how their lines on both sides of the ball held their own against a much larger BU line.

Hiring Coach Mac is a great thing? There are probably a dozen FCS coaches who would have had a better record in the tenure Mac has had with amenities heaped upon him that no coach in NT history has ever enjoyed. I was at the BU vs SMU game last night. What SMU has done already under Chad Morris is very scary. You will see a marked difference in an old style coach and a young up tempo coach next week. This is not to mention a dual threat QB in Matt Davis that we have no prayer of stopping. June Jones left them a jewel in Davis.

We should be playing AAC, MWC, MAC, SBC teams that have alumni in DFW area at Apogee. I can even understand ACU who will bring about 3,500, but why not SFA, TXST@SM, LAMAR--- not Liberty, Incarnate Word, Tx Southern, and certainly no SLC! I too do not want to become DKR Memorial North, Kyle Field North, or Gaylord Family Stadium South ( OU for those who may be clueless) AD can schedule these on 2 for 1 but have the sense to play those type games in Dallas. Third week of State Fair in Cotton Bowl is a natural for this that City of Dallas would embrace, but that would make too much sense to ever happen!!!

Got almost exactly the same seats on the BU ( east lower bowl) Section 122 as will have for UNT. SIC EM BEARS !!!

Another outing showing that competition in CUSA is going to be much upgraded this year. We need to keep pace or it's time for a change.

Hayden Fry's mid seventies visit to UT who had Earl Campbell easily took 10K to Austin. NT played great game before Campbell was finally the winning factor as he was in most UT games that year. Follow up game in Austin with Jordan Case at QB for NT was also near 10K

We've had our differences about little "d" but kudos to you for one of the most positive posts I've seen in years! I just hope you can find fans and townsfolk who will listen to your message. I have had a like message for 40 years to athletic dept., many A.D.s, faculty , Presidents, Foundation, Alumni Association, and Dentonites --- so far none have the big picture of why the $$$$ are not there. Be there early, be in the stands not the parking lot, support our team with noise and enthusiasm, show game day spirit with flags around the square, banners on streets and on campus presence.

Yeah the Aggies will just waltz into Apogee after they buy all the season tickets and throw them all away except for that one game just like they do when they play at Ford Stadium!

if we are 0-1, I predict less than 15K for RICE . Losing to SMU will not set well with fans or students and the Denton crowd does not realize that UNT actually fields a FB team so they are not a factor either way

No series benefits UNT more than SMU. The $$$$$$$$$ that they represent will have them among the next two invitees that the Big 12 will have to have to be relevant in the made for TV four team "National Championship" !!! The series is only good for UNT if we continue to prove relevant. The under 40 crowd who don't think this is a big game can and may cause us to lose this game. Read Wed. DMNS "SMU is in the best shape of their lives". They will run 80 plays per game with an ex A$M QB, a back equal to any of ours in Prescott Line, and a much better freshman class than we recruited. I feel UNT 90 was right that this game will be 3 points or less, but because of our reluctance by fans, coaches, players, or students to realize this games importance I am taking SMU and giving 7. Dan Mac is no match for Chad Morris on the road. I will not let my heart overrule my pocketbook.

With no significant student athletic fee where is this money coming from? My guess is increased ticket prices and more expensive MGC membership, meanwhile students will skate on in with an I.d. And the cheapest fee in Texas!

I think both will view us as a cupcake, and treat the game as an afterthought. Sandwiched between BU & TCU THIS IS A MUST WIN FOR SMU!
