  1. Does anyone else miss the playing of "Thunderstruck" by AC/DC right before kick off? I hope that returns this year.
  2. I have a lot of respect for Tina Slinker. She all but knew that this would be her last year barring a miracle, and she went out with the same high level of class that she possessed for 19 years. No hard feelings, 19 years of service, and NO BLACK UNIFORMS!!! I certainly did not feel bad about giving her a standing ovation or two.
  3. I'm pretty sure if your shoes... .. on the field, the bleachers will remain unharmed. Haha, there is plenty of safety distance there.
  4. I was gonna wear rubber cleats...
  5. Apparently his head might be getting too big for the top hat...
  6. Is Emmitt going to play in his pimp suit?
  7. Wierd...I would hope that those people in sections D and F would donate the money anyway, getting the benefit of better parking.
  8. I vote for Vic Schaefer. He seems like just as good a candidate as Stephens, but if we are going to hire an assistant, I would much rather they be from a school in or near Texas. Maybe he can be our Gino Auriema (sp?).
  9. That fate of the parking garage is actually not known. It is in the master plan, but will most likely not be there until years after the new stadium opens, if the garage ever gets built.
  10. I could have sworn I heard something about a really good tennis product from overseas a while ago. I think RV mentioned it at the football banquet...
  11. The Ballroom in the gateway center was nearly, if not completely full. It was a good crowd.
  12. I'll be there, both my parents will be there too...
  13. Yes, for 3.8 million dollars...for reference SEE June Jones.
  14. Maybe they just put the comma in the wrong place and we have actually sold 104,643 season tickets...
  15. The bolded statement above goes right along the same lines as saying we are inexpensive...saying, to a mediocre student, that they would blend in at ut, but be a star at the apparently "cheap" UNT is not what we need to do to promote the school either. We need to make people aware of what we have, who we are, and where we are going, without thinking that the only option is to make excuses. This whole mindset reminds me of Darrel Dickey, who after every game against texas or OU would say, "we were honored to be on the field with them.." How about we just put on our big boy pants and beat them! Go Mean Green!
  16. I only got to watch the first 15 minutes or so, but the video quality was great. The commentating will come with time. Hope to see more!
  17. She changes almost every time I scroll down and come back up...I don't see how it can be real unless my brain jumps around more than i thought.
  18. If I remember right from a Brett Vito blog entry, you could sit in the stands, but not go onto the field.
  19. We played the first game in Reed Arena, but I don't remember them ever coming to the Super Pit...
  20. Kazarova Comeback Notches Tennis Win Over Marquette Courtesy: University of North Texas Release: 03/23/2008 DENTON, Texas (3/23/08) – Narine Kazarova took center stage and didn’t disappoint, scoring the clinching win in North Texas tennis’ 4-3 victory over Marquette on Sunday. With the Mean Green (9-7) and Golden Eagles (7-11) knotted at 3-3, Kazarova rallied for a 4-6, 6-3, 6-4 win over Marquette’s Rachael Hush to give North Texas its first win this year after losing the doubles point. “This was a defining moment for us at this point in the season,” said North Texas head coach Sujay Lama. “We knew Marquette would come out and play well, but Narine was able to execute on the big stage. Kudos to Narine for standing strong.” Heading into the match with the Golden Eagles, North Texas was 0-6 when dropping the doubles point, but has now equaled its win total in each of the last two seasons combined with the Easter rally. Madura Ranganathan, Amy Joubert and Idalina Franca made short work of their opponents in singles action to give the Mean Green a 3-1 lead, but the pressure fell on Kazarova when Shannon MacKenzie and Catalina Cruz fell. North Texas tennis is in good hands in the upcoming seasons as well, as a Cruz (Soph.), Kazarova (Fr.) and Ranganathan are a combined 28-19 this spring. The Mean Green returns to action on Friday versus Sun Belt foe ULM on Friday at 3 p.m. at the Waranch Tennis Complex. I do not know how good Marquette is, but matching our win total from the last two years combined is definitely something to be happy about. Go Mean Green!
  21. How do they determine the seeding? Is it like the NCAA tournament, where they look at the resume, or just by conference record?
