  1. Now that I think about it, they should come speak at the all greek convocation in the auditorium next week....
  2. Our fraternity is definitely on board, and the people I have talked to from other fraternities are also excited about the idea. If people are educated about the fee not being put into effect until the stadium is done, I do not seeing this vote being a problem from the Greek perspective, or the general student body.
  3. You are predicting UNT 79, LSU 10 right? Seriously though. I Predict LSU 52-21. LSU after realizing they could put up 120 points on us pulls their first string after the first drive...
  4. I sure wish we played Arkansas this year...
  5. Are there going to be highlights of the goals posted anwhere? I would sure like to see those again.
  6. I second the 20% estimate...the 20% they had though were quiet. When OU scored there was not much noise at all.
  7. That was the greatest soccer game I've been to, college or pro. The atmosphere was electric. I second that we definitely appeared to be the better team, I am just glad they know how to grind out a win. Go Mean Green! Let's hope the football team today can match what the other kind of football team did last night!
  8. There actually seems to be a lot of talk about it on campus. Earlier I was given a roll of about 200 "Beat Tulsa" stickers to give out later this week. All the other dorms have them too. I am going to be optimistic and say 26,546!
  9. I'll be at the game Friday with as many other students as I can muster. I think anyone that relatively likes soccer would rather see us BEAT OU, than watch the cover band at Friday Night at Clark Park.
  10. I really don't understand why you all are criticizing this. Passion is passion. We could use some more of it up here. If they feel compelled to storm the court it might be a little out there, but bush league?
  11. UNT will win that one by so much it doesn't even need to be mentioned.....
  12. I actually jumped out of my seat! Beat moment of the Olympics so far!!! Go USA!
  13. I really am not a huge fan of arguing, you do realize that the Mean Green Village is across the highway right?...maybe my mind is just thinking too far into the future. I did not go out of my way to correct you earlier, I responded to your post. I am glad you have been to a lot of football games, so have I, great job! As far as you asking if the Pit and the Coliseum were the same thing, I did not even bring that up until you tried to act like I had no idea what I was talking about. Go Mean Green!
  14. Fair enough, that did slip my mind, although there is a Mean Green Village ACROSS THE HIGHWAY as well. I guess my mind went to that one becasue I didn't expect for you to complain about something so miniscule. I have provided a link to what I was thinking of, which includes the Athletic Center, home of the kickoff cookout, so I don't think the person that asked if the Colisseum was the same as the Super Pit needs to be acting like I am stupid. Mean Green Village
  15. He could donate it toward, i dunno, maybe.....a stadium!
  16. I think it is probably because we still play at Fouts.... It would be wierd to make people go across the highway for the pregame stuff, then come back across for the game...as soon as we have the new stadium, I'm sure the pregame stuff will be in the Mean Green Village.
  17. If they can pull that off, I think they should (for away games that are televised), open up the Super Pit and have a party inside to watch it. A few years back I watched a Mavs playoff game on the jumbotron at the AAC and it was awesome. They have a HUGE projector screen inside the Super Pit. I think that would be a really cool thing to do, and I bet it would get a decent turnout.
  18. A while back we would have never thought we'd be saying that...and being satisfied with it.
  19. There is a good chance that this "scare" has changed our driving habits for longer than just until the price goes down. Also, depending on who you talk to, or read about, there are discrepancies (sp?) on what shot oil up in the first place. Sure there are arguments that supply and demand are a factor, which it is, but the strength and weakness of the dollar is another....As the dollar goes down, more people invest in oil, particularly foreigners with strong currencies. As the dollar goes up, people pull out of those investments. Lately, the dollar has been on a strong upswing, and likewise, oil has become a less attractive investment for foreigners, and Americans as a hedge against in flation. I think it may go back up eventually, but possibly not to those levels, looking at the possiblity of other parts of the world going into recession, which if we can pull out of ours, would put us in a relative strong position against the rest of the world.
  20. That is about all Arkansas has for thier track facility. It might seat a couple thousand tops, but it is just aluminum bleachers. I would be 100% satisfied with that. Now aluminum bleachers in a football stadium is a different story...
  21. I don't know about surpassing football, but definitely basketball. I really wish when they built the Super Pit that they would have made it into a multi-purpose arena. I know that was a long time ago, but it was not an unheard of concept. I remember being a little kid in there thinking it sure looked small to have a hockey rink in it...then I realized it was. Maybe the Dallas Stars, or whoever owns the Dr. Pepper Starcenters could put one in Denton, maybe with an arena like the one in Frisco....
  22. There's 1,007 now, haha. You gotta keep your signature up to date flyer.
  23. I'm with you on the hockey. It would be a MAJOR investment to start, but I think it would be rewarded pretty quickly. Travel costs would be enormous, but it would be cool to be the first in the Texas, and I think the whole south other than one team in Alabama I believe.
