  1. Oh, here we go. Now I have to deal with the wizards of academic "Intelligence", Nice.
  2. Nice...I had to go to Google dictionary to look up the meaning of "hyperbole". We'll see if I'm exaggerating at some point in time. I'll bet I'm not.
  3. Meangreenthirteen, I live in Houston and would much rather travel to Shreveport and play a P5 team with 6-6, or 7-6 record. At least that would be against an opponent with name recognition. I for one believe our football team can beat FAU, the NO Bowl Sunbelt representative team, or any opponent chosen for UNT to play in Shreveport!! Go Mean Green!!
  4. Hi VideoEagle, If Coach Littrell and Wren are happy with NO Bowl, then 1 or both of them are already planning there exit from UNT!! Or, the sparklet's water cooler has "100 yrs. of UNT Althletic's acceptance of low expections". Then both men have been drinking the "Sparklet's Kool-aid"!!!
  5. Harry...based on your post above, why even travel to Bocca to play FAU in C-USA championship. FAU whipped us not to long ago. Oh, players on the UNT football team want a trip to NO. I forgot that.
  6. Again...If UNT plays in NO Bowl no matter if we win against FAU or not. Then our AD department and C-USA have all bought into the last 100 yrs. of UNT System, Athletic department setting a standard of accepting low expectations!!! All of us on the forum should dam well better accept that UNT is just a music school pissing in the "athletic world" wind if the above is the case. Then how will our athletic department reasonably be able to request someone with deep pockets and ties to UNT to ever donate a dime to the athletics department!! I guess some wealthy folks just need a right off pretty darn bad! I can guarantee that Seth Littrell will leave as soon as he has a reasonable offer to get as far away from UNT as possible!! Maybe I don't know how the bowl system selects schools to the bowls each year, but I can assure you how going the the NO Bowl will affect keeping Coach Littrel and the majority of this staff here in Denton. As a fan of UNT Athletics if you expect me to support a great way to let another P5 school take our coach way ie as easy as stealing a child's lunch money. Then count me out. It's very slick of some snake oil salesman on the board to try to pawn this decision to play in NO Bowl off "Oh, the football players would enjoy going to the NO Bowl"!!! Why insult the intelligence of the UNT Football team!!! On top of that how would our UNT coaching staff be able to recruit any future player to UNT. That would be like telling the parents of a UNT recruit. Once your son is on the UNT football team the coaching staff and UNT administration is going to treat them like blithering "idots"!!!! And dammit your son's going to enjoy it!!! By saying to the UNT alumni and athletic supporters "Oh, the players have decided they want to take a trip to NO". Our football players are passing up an opportunity to play a P5 school just so the UNT coaching staff, athletic department can get to "10 Wins". Give me a break. I'm in the sales profession and if this is the only thing I have to sell then I'd change careers. I have to be able to sleep at night. I guess some on our forum can survive without a wink of shut eye!! Go Mean Green!!! Our football team certainly deserves better than the NO bowl playing a Sunbelt team. Way to go C-USA!!!
  7. New Orleans bowl is a slap in the face to UNT and C-USA!!! UNT deserved to play a P5 somewhere!! If it's the HUD, Independence, so be it. This should be motivating factor for UNT players to beat FAU!! I can easily make a trip to NO but why, to play a Sunbelt team!! Not playing a P5 team or at least ACC team will give Seth L. a perfect reason to leave UNT ASAP!!! Book it. Take that bet to your local bookie, place bet, cashout, and retire!!!
  8. Just voted. UNT Nation needs to go to link Harry provided above and VOTE!!!
  9. If someone can find out where the game is on and post where to meet I'll be there. I live around West Oaks Mall/Hwy 6 & Westheimer, but I'll drive to party.
  10. I live in Houston, but was in N. Texas for Thanksgiving. I was back in H-Town yesterday and watched game on ESPN 3. One of the announcers on TV broadcast was former NFL player and had nothing to say but good things about UNT players and UNT as a program. Announcer did try to say positive things about Rice and there coach who is probably going to be fired. However, Rice program is at low point. UNT's program has been were Rice is for many years. UNT Nation owes Seth and entire coaching staff many thanks for there hard work turning UNT program around. If we lose coach Littrell the UNT program is light years ahead of where it was when coach Littrell was hired at UNT. The Wren's job is to fine another great coach to take Littrell's place. I never thought I'd see the day, or at least this soon that UNT football would be 9-3 with realistic opportunity to go 11-3 in a season. This can't do anything but help UNT recruiting and other athletic facilities upgrade/improvements. Go Mean Green!!!
  11. Corky Nelson was a good coach at UNT/NTSU and his record isn't great. Man, UNT/NTSU football has been horrible for a long time. I never knew UNT/NTSU record over the years was really that bad. No wonder all the really old timers, then me always refer to UNT/NTSU as a "Music School". With a record like ours I now understand why SMU lobbied so hard for UNT/NTSU to be excluded from the SWC. I don't like what SMU did, but at least I can understand it. "
  12. The above stats just highlight how bad UNT Football has been for around the last 100 yrs.
  13. If Jeffrey Wilson stays healthy look out for how many yards he carries for less an injury. I think there are going to a lot of NFL Scouts showing up at practice. Not to mention the number of scouts that have already visited Denton!!
  14. Todd Dodge couldn't figuratively hold Seth Littrell's Jock Strap!!! Topic Closed!! Go Mean Green. It's been a long time since I've seen a UNT Football team turn around a first Quarter performance like they did tonight. I was great to hear on 88.1.
  15. After the first quarter I never thought this was possible. UNT is showing me something. It was great to go the Lamar game. I wish this was on TV, nuts mcusa feed.
  16. Game on the tv anywhere or do I have to listen to it on 88.1?
  17. We always wonder why we lose a recruiting battle. Then when the prospect actually provides the answer "You can thank the coaching staff", or to that affect. Then we question the punters motive. I guess because of "twitter". Vetto should ask coaching staff. Why would a recruit profit from lying? It profits no one to lying in the long run. Point is our current UNT punting game is really sub par (stinks), so as fans we should be asking or looking for a solution. If the coaches don't the fans and team all have to live with the result. As long as I've been a UNT fan, even to the point of not reading the board or watching UNT football (lots of coaches), or basketball ie Benford era recruiting has always been a core issue with UNT athletics. Many here were extremely critical of Coach Dickey's stealth recruiting or recruiting talent from smaller 2,3,4A high schools and yet no other coaches teams since Coach Dickey have fared to Coach Dickey's team production. Not only that, I don't think another UNT coach has had to deal with the death of a starting QB like Coach Dickey's team did since. This is one of the reason mattress Mack hasn't supported UNT football for such a long period of time (maybe Mattress Mac in now). Mattress Mack personally funding the funeral and other expenses incurred by UNT and the players of the team when QB past. Then Coach Dickey is fired in the middle of fight with Diabetes and subsequent hart attack. Coach Dickey sued UNT for $500,000.00 for wrongful termination I believe and won the lawsuit. It's unbelievable that after that the UNT practice field(s) were named after a Coach that won a lawsuit for $500,000.00.
  18. I'm in N. Texas from Houston, TX. getting away from Hurricane activity to visit my mom and family over holiday weekend. Mom lives in small town near Commerce, TX. Anyone on board have extra single ticket they are using for game? I'll buy it, or call ticket office if they're open on Saturday morning. I went on ticket site tonight and received error message via ticketmaster UNT site, but maybe due to slow iP bandwidth up there in the country. They had a place to send ticket office a message so I did. Hope it works. Since game starts at: 6:00 PM and I'll be by myself (my daughter won't be interested in attending game) I'd like advise on tailgating parties to attend if possible and what time to arrive to walk around to tailgating parties etc. Misspoke about my daughter. Now I'll need 2 tickets for me and my 15 year old daughter.
  19. At US 290 and Tidwell when they were doing water rescues of up to 2,000 folks in 1 day Hilton furniture donated there panel trucks to take folks from 290 rescue point to walmart parking lot. Then City and school buses transported folks to George R. Brown Convention center shelter. Most everyone in this area have pitched in relief effort. Friday night the owner of Houston Rockets donated 10 Million dollars. Yesterday Walmart donated 20 Million and tons of supplies. Many other have made donations of all sizes, and all donations are needed.
  20. Hi MGM family. Please donate whatever you can to equipment(s) trucks coming to H-Town and surrounding areas. It will greatly be appreciated to all the folks here in Houston and surrounding areas who have lost everything they own. There are Tens of Thousands of folks plus who have lost everything they own. Most if not all that are in this situation are thankful they survived with there lives. Unfortunately some didn't. Death toll will certainly rise, but it's a miracle that more people in the entire S. Texas area didn't. The citizens of S. Texas, State, and Federal Gov. are doing a terrific job provided rescue, relief, and providing for those that lost everything they own!!! For the citizens of S. Texas, and Louisiana the relief effort is so much better than Katrina!!! Thank God. If you made it through without flooding in this area you're thankful, and praising God you survived without harm. It's much better here today. The sun is out, but many people are still underwater. Many of these folks have elected to stay in there flooding houses so looters don't take what they still have. In areas there are thieves actively trying to do harm in this manner, as unbelievable as that is during the flooding here in S. Texas and Louisiana. Thanks for everyone's prayers and support, financially, or donating items to relief effort!!
  21. Everyone, Please donate. H-Town and surrounding areas need all the assistance we can get. Thankfully, FEMA is on the JOB. I have friends that lost there homes. They filed FEMA claim as no flood insurance. FEMA already approved them for paid housing via hotel's in the area paid by FEMA!!! Gov. Abbott and President Trump in my opinion are going to flood S. Texas with cash. The State and Federal Gov. don't want to look back to not provided needed assistance to all in S. Texas!! Dan Patrick the L. Gov. lives in the Spring/Kingwood/Woodland's area so he's going to make sure assistance and Gov. money flows here. L. Gov. has already made mention on of $10 Billion TX rainy day fund. Well, it's rainy in S. Texas. LOL. So many here affected that all that Gov. money won't be enough. Please donate. If you have family here that have lost house or everything they own let them know to go to FEMA.GOV and file claim. I'm sure UNT's new O-line coach has countless friends and family that have been affected by Harvey!!! Not to mention the countless UNT Alumni in the S. Texas area.
  22. I really respect everyone on the board, However, If you're not in Houston/Beaumont area "YOU PROBABLY HAVE NO IDEA" how bad it is in this area. Just imagine Denton under 4 plus feet of water. The state and fed's not to mention local citizens are doing water rescues with earth movers, boats, helicopters. Not to mention folks walking in 4 foot plus water for up to a mile just to get out of there subdivisions!!!! I'm talking about rescuing 1,000.00 plus people out of 1 subdivision (probably closer to 2,000.00) with earth movers. Hwy 290 and Tidwell yesterday alone. Probably still going on today. My family was lucky. We didn't flood, but by the grace of God!!! The corps of engineers are having to do controlled water release of water from 2 local dams just to make sure water does crest over them. So, the corps of engineers are purposely causing peoples houses to flood to prevent bigger flood downstream ie downtown Houston. San Jacinto river is flooding over banks so city of Kingwood, TX. is under water. Only way to get in is by boat. This isn't 1 suburb,, or City down here isn't many cites, and areas of Houston. Look on a map!!! I'm sure Beaumont will get there fair share of rain. I hope not as much as H-Town. I never in a million years thought Harvey would be near this bad here based on original landfall. I bet a lot of the Lamar administration, coaches, and players, have family here in Houston that have lost everything!!! If you're playing football for Lamar I'm sure the last thing on your mind on Saturday will be playing a football game. This storm makes Katrina look a walk in the park!!! The state and Fed's are doing a great job, but this situation is so big it's mind boggling!!! FEMA is already approving hotel housing for folks that have lost there house. I have friends in the situation. George R. Brown convention center probably has 10,000.00 and that's 1 shelter. There are hundreds of shelters. Please donate to samaritan purse, the Red Cross, The MET Church (this church is big shelter), or another worthy organization for donation. I"m a Huge UNT athletics supporter. I've been on this board for years. Based on what's going on down here a game postponement or even not playing this game with Lamar at all this year pales in comparison to what the whole South Texas area is facing or living through. Many prayers to everyone in the South Texas, Louisiana area that are affected by Harvey. We need everyone's prayers and support in this area from, UNT, the North Texas area, Texas, and the US. Folks from all over the US are here pitching in on the relief effort. It's truly a site and blessing to see.
