84-43 at Tech, with many accomplishments at Kentucky and Oklahoma as OC, not to mention many prior coaching accomplishments. Baggage I guess, but a proven winner!!! Who created the baggage, sports media? Wonder what his previous Tech players thing of Leach? Lets not include kids of SMU players (we already now what they think). Tech 2010 7-5 with no baggage well respected former SEC coach. Wonder how their coach will recruit this year. I wonder how many TTech fans would like leach back?

I'm a big coach Deloach homer!! I believe Coach Deloach is a great defensive coordinator. Since coach MacCarney is defensive minded does coach Deloach become the scrap goat for yards and points give up by our defense this and in past years? Will Coach M. take into account injuries, and Todd Dodges offense which left our defense on the field entirely to long. UNT's defensive recruiting and over all talent pool on defense IE coach Deloach can't install the complete defensive package he might like or is capable of coaching if he doesn't have the personnel or they're injured. Some have said on the board that coach Deloach doesn't like to hit the road and do home visits, or may not be that good at home visit if/when he goes on them. I don't know which is true or if above statement is true. I do believe coach Deloach is a good defensive position teacher and very good defensive coordinator. From my perspective I hope coach Deloach is hired as defensive coordinator under MacCarney. I wonder how much time our new coach has been able to spend looking at film of our team. Hopefully our defensive recruiting with improve so the next DC can truly show his talent. I believe coach Deloach has been a victum of recruiting, injuries, and an offensive system that has kept his defenses on the field for way to long. Your thought's?

Well...I'm sure all with get over the frustration including RV and coach MacCanrey (sp). The new coach has 500,000.00 reasons to be able to get over it. I'm sure he's seen much worse in the real world and on recruiting visits. At least lets hope so. UNT reputation is in tact and a live and well. I hope the new coach hires coach Deloach.

Dan MacCanrey maybe good hire, and don't have issue with the $500,000.00. I just suspect the "quote unquote" search committee made money on both ends of this deal!!! If true I have a real problem with that!!! I hope Vito will do some real investigative reporting and get to the bottom of it. OH, DH or RV might hold it against Vito and the DRC, so getting at this real answer maybe harder than one thinks!!! UNT administration, RV, anyone listening? Care to response to message board question? Why would we hire ISU 56-85? Recruiting at Florida will be different and recruiting at UNT!!! Hope MacCanrey is the real deal. I have to endure Todd Dodge era and it was painful to say the least.

Funny thing is I'm really a Coach Deloach fan, but I've grown to admire coach Canales and will follow his career for years to come, and pull for his teams when he becomes a HC. I hope Dan MacCarney brings UNT much success, because I know coach Canales would have.

HHHUUMMM!!!! I bet some of the AD's around the sunbelt are lighting up Coach Canales phone. 3-9 with 14 to 17 starters out!!! Canales was credited by Dodge with WKU win, and made our team competitive once he was given control. SBC maybe lesser conference so first coaching gig for motivated coach could be in lesser conference at lower salary (SBC). Within 5 weeks Canales flatly stated I'm going to be a HC. Even if his wife was pushing him or in full support you could tell his family was on board. If coach Canales doesn't become a HC then he certainly wouldn't stay at UNT where the lobbied for a job and produced on the field only to be told in the pecking order it was Dan MacCarney, Steve Kragthorpe and Dennis Franchione, and maybe or maybe not coach Canales, 4th in line if that. Kansas St. 49 UNT 41. I doubt RV or the above 3 finalist for the UNT job could have motivated a UNT team to this close an outcome (UNT could have realistically won the game)!!! All of UNT's players or most have had to endure 3 to 4 years of losing under TD in comes Canales and motivates players to believe and not give up. The football team gave it their all, but the IHC was 4th at best in the pecking order!!! If this happened on your job would you stay? I wouldn't from a respect standpoint. I'd rather walk through "cow dung" than be the "oh, your good enough to be OC as we pat you on the head", but not HC forth in line at best...at worst who knows!!!

ULL would be crazy if they didn't seriously consider Coach Canales. If they do and hire him I hope he looks out for some our out going assistant coaches!!! Questions about Canales recruiting abilities are silly. I'm sure with 25 yrs. of coaching experience he's never recruited a single player!!! If he does become ULL's coach you can be assured he'll come into our new 78 million dollar stadium to win, and win BIG!!! RV and the administration will have egg on their faces over that one if Canales puts one in the win column at the expense of his former employer!!! Canales and his agent must be dead set on finding coach Canales a head coaching gig since coach Canales has said as much. What coach Canales did at UNT in 5 weeks is definitely a resume enhancement. Good Luck coach Canales and UNT!!! One things for sure coach Canales won't be looking in the review mirror. I'm sure he's full steam ahead looking for HC position. I don't think he'll be our OC next year. This is a business so we'll see. Coach Canales was given the business or he made his mission taking UNT temporary HC position to hart so he could become a HC at another school. Hopefully God will reward coach Canales dedication and hard work to hart and elevate him to head coach. I can guarantee based on what he proved at UNT that the new school will be well pleased with their hire when it happens.

I do support UNT!!! Not call me a girl behind a computer key board!!! The consultant made a load of money on this deal and the deal stinks!!! Now I'm supposed to love the lemon of a car I bought off the lot. No thanks!!! I was a coach work his tail off and make football players believer's now I'm supposed to believe in 56-85 at the all mighty ISU. Give me a break!!!

Really!!! Then hire a coach with a winning BCS record!!! I wonder if the new coach was represented by Neinas? If so, pretty good gid making money on both ends of the equation. Why doesn't our new coach have to be accountable for the season Florida has endured. Why don't we ask the Florida fans if they're happy with our new coach's record!!! Seems to me plenty of SEC school's took Florida to the wood shipper this year!!! Bet you Florida didn't lose 14 to 17 starter on their team either!!!

Thanks RV for giving Coach Mike Canales a real shot at the UNT job!!! Offer Dan McCarney the job before the K-State game!!! Did you ever coach a team with so many injuries to a 49-41 loss to K-State!!! Maybe Bill Snyder has the good since to offer Coach Canales a job on his staff after all this is said and done. Maybe another BCS team will pick coach Canales a job. If not, maybe you'll schedule on of Mike Canales's coach teams to a game here at the new stadium once he's a head coach somewhere. Time will tell...this doesn't look good at all. I hope you have a lot of big time doner's ready to give Million buck's to UNT based on this hire. Now I get to follow the career of Coach Mike Canales from a far. Way to alienate the fan base!!!

Coach Canales and Coach Deloach thank you for your time and hard work here with UNT!!! Both coaches are true men of class and character. I really don't want to see Coach Deloach leave the program for the second time. I knew coach Deloach was leaving the first time because of the defense he built at UNT. Coach Deloach deserved more money and the recognition of coaching establish high profiled team in UCLA. I was so happy UNT was able to bring Coach Deloach back as defensive cordinator!!! I knew given time coach Deloach would build an unstoppable defense here at UNT once again. In steps Coach Canales. I didn't know much about him other than his resume when joining UNT. Now I want coach Canales to be UNT's head coach no matter the resumes others have in hand. What I've seen coach Canales do here at UNT with his staff in such a short period of time is truly amazing!!!! Coach Canales has taken a injury riddled team and made them more competitive than I think anyone could have hoped for!!! The Todd Dodge era has been a total failure, and now I have to see great coaches flushed down the drain as a result of it!!! Riley Dodge has been a true competitor on the field, but his dad as coach bring in a bunch of HC coaching clown's cost UNT professional coaching staff dearly. Here's to coach Canales, and coach deloach!!! Both of you will be missed on the sidelines of UNT!!!

Wow...anyone want to offer Tina S. her job back. Lot's of folks giving Stephens an easier time than they gave Tina S.. Shouldn't surprise me a lot of folks were favorable to T Dodge, but large knives at Darrel Dickey!!!. I'd take what Tina S. produced here over anything our 3rd year coach has produced to this point.
