Doesn't always work out, but our current recruiting class with addition of Tony Mitchell is "All World" All I can say about FAU is we need a win! If other belt teams are beating us a home then here's to turn about being fair play. Last home game for us we very impressive!!!. Sounded Like Hogan and the men were getting a little ahead of themselves based on TM thread at Rec.. I'm Johnny is resting team or running them hard depending on what he believe will motivate them to playing BB to their potential. Now it up to the players and how they produce on the floor. If UNT is the team I believe they are then we'll be starting a conference win streak. If not, SBC tournament underdog!!!! Cold weather and FAU travel maybe an advantage for us.

If we pay Coach Jones what he's worth, and he can hold onto Tony Mitchell for a season or Two, and continue to recruit. The "House that Johnny build" or the renaming the Super Pit "Jones" Arena has a ring to it that just might allow Coach Jones to say "My family and I really like Denton and UNT" so I think I'll stick around a finish what I start here which was building a "Nation Powerhouse Basketball Program". Here...here to that outcome!!! Mr. Mitchell, again great that have you in Mean Green colors, here's to an extending stay in Mean Green Land. If you stay a lot more of us will be drinking "Green Kool-aid" every day and you'd be responsible. Glad to see the coaches have integrity and we'll still not in the poll based on our name recognition!!! Johnny and his "MEN" haven't been playing well of late. Hopefully they can turn it around and win out. All of us UNT faithful are praying for just that.

This tread is becoming ridiculous!! We need to cut Tony Michell some slack. Based on everything that has been written about his situation there's nothing to indicated he's not smart enough to be in college, or a successful student and exceptional basketball player. Mr. Mitchell took many proficiency exams in two day period to place out, or get class credits for subjects offered at private school DISD wouldn't honor. In my mind DISD not honoring credits is like the "Pot calling the Kettle Black", DISD being on the level of Harvard or something. Mr. Mitchell then passed his SAT's and ACT's (first try or second students are allowed to take exam more that once). I'll worry about Mr. Mitchell when it's determined he doesn't have the "smarts" to get C's or better at UNT!!! For all we know Tony Mitchell could become an honor roll's student. I like the way this thread started with a student, Alumni, or former student elated based on playing with TM...and amazed at just how talented he is. More importantly that he's on campus and choose UNT and Johnny Jones to play for no matter the circumstances!!! Go Mean Green, Tony Mitchell, and other talented incoming recruits!!! Come on now...give Tony a break Mizzou worked hard on his behalf and their fans stood behind him all the way. Give Tony credit for being a class act. Point is his coming to UNT and I'm sure he'll see and probably already knows how excited all of us are to have him at UNT. I need the board's wisdom. I've read non qualifiers can't practice with the Mean Green BB or be associated with AD. So, can Tony Mitchell play unsupervised games ie pickup games that include current or future UNT players if UNT coaches, trainers, or other staff aren't involved? In other words what BB related activities can Tony Mitchell participate in either with or without current or future UNT player(s), or other college players while being classified as a "non qualifier"? CMJ...you're always right!!! I will start this one off. "The House that Johnny built"!!! When we win the SBC can you imagine what the announcers will be saying many times during the game, win or lose, win of course. UNT has 5 seniors but reloading won't be a problem because UNT has as close to Michigan's fab 5 as anyone!!! Williams, Mitchell, Robinson, Norris, Jones, etc. The announcers will be repeating this theme over and over. The deeper into March Madness we go the more they will talk about it. The last time UNT went dancing I called a Houston Talk radio station and told them the story about Shannon Shorter's grandmother. Shorter's grandmother if you didn't know is a personal trainer here in Houston and competes in national body building contests. In Shannon's younger days he was sort of unruly so his mom sent him to his grandmothers house to live. At that point Shannon straightened up because grandma laid down the law. Shannon could act up because grandma could go toe to toe. Point is I wanted radio station to interview Shorter's grandmother based on UNT, Shannon, and her body building career. Station sports talk hosts said when UNT made the sweet 16 they'd have Shannon grandmother on. This years a perfect year to have Shannon's family on the air. If UNT doesn't make it that far I'm going to try to get Shannon's grandmother on in 2011-12. I'm sure UNT will at least go to the sweet 16, but could go as far as final 4!!! I've been drinking a lot of Kool-Aid today, and it taste's GREAT!!!

I haven't seen this many folks consistently logged into the basketball message board in years!!! Much less in the hart of FB recruiting season. Again, hats off to Johnny Jones for pulling in Tony Mitchell to UNT. Oh, welcome a board Mr. Mitchell!!! I'm sure you'll make your grades just fine. Here's to seeing you on the court soon.

No disrespect to Coach Mac, but I'm darn glad Coach Jones pulled of the biggest recruiting coup in UNT history. Johnny's been producing and Mitchell along with all the MEN on our team could really take UNT to a national level!!! Since I've been drinking some Kool-Aid today if not national, then really strong Mid Major!!! I like the sound of National better!! Bring on the Texas Longhorns!!! OH, Coach Mac is putting together a great recruiting class for FB, but Johnny has blown the doors off the Buick!!! Let's hope Johnny & Co. can convince Tony Mitchell to say longer than a year at UNT before turning Pro!!!
