  1. There were actually a few times where I noticed more noise when the Mean Green OFFENSE were facing 3rd down.
  2. And, I'm pretty sure there will be several walk-ups ready to just scan their ID's. Hopefully the wingzone has enough seats for all of these folks.
  3. Don't let facts get in the way of a vendetta!
  4. From the sounds of the SID, it sounds like Ms. 8001 will have no problems getting into the stadium. Mr. or Ms. 10001? Mr. or Ms. 12001? Who knows? Only the Fire Marshall knows.
  5. I think ESPN cares ALOT about HS football. They're trying to put it on the Longhorn Netowrk. If you can find some teams with legit college prospects playing, or traditional powerhouses, people will watch.
  6. No. I'm not saying that... but a FELONY? I understand it was assault, and I understand the law is the law, but to dig a little further, does it not differentiate between a hormonal teenager and a grown man? I certainly hope trying him on a felony as an adult is off the table. The kid certainly needs to be in trouble for sure though.
  7. How old is the kid? A felony? The parents/coaches... sure. They're old enough to be held accountable with felony charges... but the kid?
  8. Watched him twice last year and he was having a hard time hitting receivers, even Stanford-bound Dontonio Jordan. The guy can definitely tuck it and run though. It was almost like watching his predecessor, Franklin, who is starting at Mizzou. I haven't been able to watch him this year yet, but hopefully he can become a more accurate passer. If he does, he'll get plenty of other offers. If not, and he comes here, he'll be a nice little project for coach Chico.
  9. I'm no lawyer, but here's my logic. Baylor is asked to sign a waiver (FOR A REASON, I'M SURE). Baylor declines, leaving a possibility of a lawsuit open. SEC says, "Whoa. No-can-do now. Get this figured out A&M." Probably out of genuine fear. Maybe the basis of a suit could be something like "tampering". The Big 12 is an organization that is viable and a money-maker. Then, rumors surface regarding A&M moving to the SEC. Rumors are denied though. But, if Baylor can somehow confirm that there was tampering, then the SEC would be guilty. Right? It's not about trust-busting or anything. It's about Baylor not making the money they would be making in the big12 if they're in another conference.
  10. I thought the cash parking on the Stadium side was for students. They can purchase a $10 parking pass when they go pick up their tickets. I don't know if that field lot will be available for non-students.
  11. Baylor is not suing anyone... YET. All they are doing is leaving that option open by refusing to sign a waiver. I would do the same thing if I were Baylor. If A&M decides to go through with it and the SEC lets them, then the rest of the Big 12 crumbles and Baylor/IASt. and any other school relegated to a lower paying conference will THEN have the legs to stand on to sue. If they sign a waiver now, they forefit that right later. This is not hard to understand. If it were baseless as you're accusing, then why does A&M feel they're being "held hostage" and the SEC is putting the brakes on it?
  12. Looks like we've offered LDHS QB Dalyn Williams. His rivals & scout pages says he has no offers. Dalyn Williams - Rivals Page Dalyn Williams - Scout Page But, according to the DRC, he has offers from UNT, Navy & Air Force. DRC Story *sorry if this was already posted... it's kinda crowded in here.
  13. You're probably right about the PR reprocussions. I think that if we were a winning program, this wouldn't be an issue and it would basically force the students to "camp out" for the Indiana game so that they can make sure they're one of the first 8K (because the product is worth the wait). That just won't be the case here because we're not a good team and those hypothetical students who are turned away this time would just be bitter about it and probably never attempt to go to another game. I still think they should try to sell them up until gametime, because the person that walks up at 5:45 on Saturday could be sold on the team/program/stadium/experience and possibly come back again (and pay again). So it wouldn't necessarily be short-sighted. I also think the standing room only option would be good for this first game as well.
  14. So, say by some wild chance, the 8K allotment is gone today: Should those available GA tickets be opened up immediately for the students who do not yet have tickets? Or, should they hold them as long as they can for people who want to pay for them? I kinda think that they should wait until gametime to try and sell as many as they can, and if there are any left, the students can have them. *Edit: Yes, in the scenario I mentioned, if the student 8001+ wanted to ensure they get in, they would have to pay. Or, they can take a chance and show up at gametime to see if any are available.
  15. Hmmm. Maybe I'm lost in translation...to clarify: If the 8K allotment is gone and there are still GA available after the game starts (or 5 min prior), students should be able to go to the ticket counter and get tickets for free. If the 8K allotment is gone and the rest of the seats are sold out (which is looking like a real possibility), too bad. Better?
  16. This is a NO-BRAINER... the only hold up would be: would Texas want us?
  17. Question: If North Texas were in the same position as Texas, would ANYONE here have a problem with it? If you answer "yes", you're either lying, or extremely bitter. TFLF, you say in one sentence that there's nothing wrong with what they're doing, and follow it up by saying they're a "bully". Which is it? UT is a successful school in all sports. They have a huge enrollment and a huge alumni base all over the country/world. Now, they have a network contract with ESPN that is paying them gobs of money. They can't fill that time with their own sporting events, so they approach other colleges and Texas High Schools to broadcast their games. Does this create an unfair advantage? You'd better believe it! But, that's what you get when you're one of the most powerful college athletic brands out there. Some teams will crawl in bed with them (ahem Tech), and why not? Texas is the strongest pimp on the block. Now, A&M has hurt feelings and are going to "show 'em" by joining the SEC. Good Luck! Some say they are attracted to the money in the SEC. How is this different than UT launching the LHN? It's all about money. Bottom Line: UT is continuing their success in a new avenue (whether the LHN itself is successful or not remains to be seen) and A&M doesn't want to be in the shadow anymore, so they bolt to a conference full of UT's (whether their athletic endeavors in the SEC are successful or not remains to be seen). A&M's move is much, much riskier than UT's. Ask Arkansas. All I know is, I would love to be able to watch a UNT game on the LHN if it's not broadcast elsewhere.
  18. I can see the headline now: "Student Pays for Stadium, Turned Away by Nazi Football Team."
  19. No. He's saying WE are the bodybag game. Only just now, like THIS SEASON, are we able to pay a school to come here. Lo, and behold... next year, we have Texas Southern coming to town. You get your wish!
  20. The difference is: UNT is a BCS school. TXSt & UTSA are FCS schools. We're already bringing up a non-bcs football program in S. Alabama. However, S. Alabama is already in our conference. Why would the Sun Belt, or anyone other than the crumbling WAC consider bringing up an FCS school with all of this volatility right now?
