I'm pleasantly surprised by the other schools that were recruiting these guys, and some even had offers from BCS schools. We usually get a couple of those, but this year it seems like we have more than usual. Way to go coaches! Hope they all pan out.

A corner with WICKED speed who's also about 6'5" and can lay someone out. Basically a shutdown corner. Is that too much to ask?

Is it too big a stretch to go from Jason McGriff to McGruff.....like the crime dog. Then we could yell "Grrrrufff!" and "Take a Bite out of Crime!" whenever he gets the ball.

Up against some of those schools, I think it's a major achievement to just have him agree to a visit. And, just getting them on campus is half the battle. Hope this one comes through.

How about Mario "I smoke a" Jointer or every time Ricard "Dick" Law touches the ball you could all yell "Breakin the law, breakin the law! For Buboltz you could yell "Bubbles" For Stephen Cowherd you could all yell "MOO!!!!" or ring cowbells I may not be very good at this.

WOW!!! You could definitly hear them through the radio. For a Thursday night game that's GREAT attendance. I'd guess 5k would be possible for Saturday. Can anyone who was there give a break down of the student/alumni ratio?

If you go to meangreensports.com a little promotional Pop-up add comes up with promotions for the next 2 games. Tonight is $1 hot dog night, and Saturday, if you are a Season Ticket Holder for football, you get buy one get one free game tickets. Didn't somebody on this board suggest something similar not too long ago? They are listening.......or coming up with stuff on their own, but wither way I like it.

Would it be worth the Athletic Dept's time/money to maybe hand out some kind of flyer at the basketball games with the Spring Practice Schedule on it? If they would change the Spring game to a Saturday instead of a Thursday night, I'm SURE they'd get a bigger crowd and could do some kind of Tailgating atmosphere. They will have several scrimmages on Saturday mornings. Could we encourage tailgating for immediatley following?

Those people are SUPPOSED to be charged $10 for each parking space they take up. At Homecoming last year, we saw other people that were charged, and then they came over and hit us up for cash too. Now I don't know if that happens every time, but it's supposed to. GMG!

The reason to promote the board is for the casual fan that all of a sudden realizes they can find out EVERYTHING that's going on with the program, it's strengths and weaknesses and how they can help. Personally I was a casual fan at best, until I stumbled across this board. Maybe we (the fans) shouldn't be in charge of promoting GMG.com, but it'd be a good idea for Harry and the others. Spring practices are a BIG deal at other schools. The scrimmages draw large crowds. If I didn't get on the board to find out the dates, I wouldn't have the slightese clue they were going on. Fox Sports SW sends crews out to the Big 12 and (I think) TCU spring practices, that's where the idea came from.

1) We're the only school that starts Spring Practice as early as we do. Somehow we should try to get the media to pay some attention to it. Whether it's the freaking Channel 8 Why Guy coming out or ESPN, I'd think sombody would be ready to cover some kind of football. 2) We should do more to promote this board. I tell all my buddies, and I know ya'll do as well, but this is the main reason I'm as addicted to UNT athletics that I am. I can always get a fix. Suggestions - Print up rosters for Spring Practice with the website at the top and hand these out to EVERYONE there. I remember from one of the scrimmages last year, I was dying to know who some of the players were. Do some kind of Flyer or something and pass them out or hang them up in the Dorms. The students are the ones we really need to get pumped about our programs, since they have the best access to all the events.

MoonDad - Welcome to the board! How do you know about JUCO players in California? That guy would certainly have the size we've all been looking for. Hope Dickey and crew are aware too.

I was on the Dallas Morning News website, and they had a list of last year's recruiting class, and I saw a couple of guys on there that I don't remember hearing anything about. Anyone know if they're still on the team? DT Robert Peachey 6'5" 270 DE David Collins 6'4" 210 Collins was pretty light, but now these guys have had a year to put some meat on pretty nice sized frames. Any info?
